The purpose of this study was to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of learning management systems (LMS) in the physical geography class. The study adopted the experimental design and three classes participated in this study. The first class was controlled using only classroom lectures, the second class used PPT slides along with the classroom lectures, and the third class used online video clips along with the lectures. The experiments were conducted from the Spring Semester 2007 to the Spring Semester 2008 for the introductory physical geography course. The study results showed that online learning tools help students improve academic performance and their attitudes towards the class and the instructor. Compared to simple PowerPoint slides, voice recording attached to the visual lecture slide materials enhanced students' motivation. Class lectures with lecture slides did not improve students' scores. However, when the visual materials were combined with voice recording, the number of internet access to online class materials increased, and class attendance and students' final grades were improved. Based on the results, the instructional design model that combines classroom and online learning was suggested.

The purpose of this study is to find any contradictions which arise with the use of Wiki in the classroom, and to address such contradictions in order to promote learning among LIS students. This study employed a multi-methodology, including Wiki usage analysis, and interviews with 12 students who participated in an LIS class. Observations revealed that group projects are common in academic classes. Interviewees agreed that their performance through collaborative efforts was higher than that through individually performed activities. However, there were no pre-experiences with Wiki in learning and task-oriented cooperation which gave rise to a controversy. In addition, even though a new technology, as a more advanced form, was suggested, students cooperated with their peers according to their tradition without using the recommended new technology. Therefore, students should be taught about Wiki usage and experience the effective learning which is available to them through collaboration with their peers. Additionally, LIS curriculum should incorporate relationship-oriented activities using Web 2.0 applications with the expectation of enhanced learning among students.

The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the inquiry tasks included in the elementary social studies with school library based instruction (SLBI) focused on the information literacy process and select teacher librarians' educational role under learning for social studies. For this purpose, national elementary curriculum of $4^{th}$, $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$ social studies in the second term are analyzed. As results of analysis, the $4^{th}$ and $5^{th}$ students who take part in solving the inquiry tasks could compare and analyze illustrations, photographs and texts in their text books individually and present the results with speaking. The $6^{th}$ students could deal with their tasks using their experience, idea or information found from other resources and express the outcome orally according to the content of inquiry tasks. Therefore, teacher librarians could teach information literacy skills such as comparison, contrast, combination, distinction between opinions and facts, or prediction and inference of conclusion to the $4^{th}$ and $5^{th}$ elementary student. Teacher librarians can also participate in whole information literacy instruction for the $6^{th}$ students from building the solution strategies of tasks, collecting and using materials to completing and evaluating the results under the long term collaboration with the classroom teachers.

Recently, Korea has been established and operated International Schools manifesting to improve the nation's capacity of the foreign languages skill and to cultivate internationally trained professional manpower. In order to achieve the vision of a world-class educational organization, it has to be designed for the facility standards to meet the international accreditation standards. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to research about basic resources through comparison of facility conditions between public schools in Korea and international accredited schools. By comparing those two different plan drawings are found the following things. First, Schools which established with International Accreditation Standard are prepared detailed criteria for the facility, Furthermore information about the furnishings included, in addition to specific equipments for classes are stated to be prepared. Secondly, it is more effective when special classrooms such as music and science are equipped with various spatial elements, enough educational equipment storage, teacher's study rooms, practical training rooms and student's activity rooms to support various teaching programs and learning efficiently. Lastly, there was a clear tendency that not only hardware but also software standards for the audiovisual room and library have been more enhanced to enable multidisciplinary educational approaches with the recent education training trend.

Our society is changing into the society of knowledge and information since the advent of 21st century. This may require that schooling need to have a new paradigm. Korea has already entered into the aging society with the help of various population control policies such as birth control from 1960s, and is expecting to go into the so called ultra- aging society. Elementary and middle schools have been facing the rapid decrease in the number of students since the mid-1980s, which high schools are now confronting with. The present study investigates how to effectively utilize extra classrooms at schools. The present study offers eight basic directions that may help establish the utilization planning of extra classrooms. One direction is offering an appropriate space utilization environment, another is to present a plan for having special classrooms. Others are having multi-purpose classrooms, management on the unified rooms for library and audio-visual teaching, securing facilities rooms for the school staff. And others are the planning of the diversion of living space for improving sanitation and the provision of meals, the necessity of the extension or rebuilding of school buildings for other uses according to school development schemes, the utilization planning for community residents to which each school belong.

The purpose of the study was to determine the way to improve the school environments especially focused on the elementary school through design gaming with children. Main purpose of the study was to establish the method to find how children experience school environments and the way to find their needs, feelings, and desires of the school facilities. The methods which have been used are design gaming consisted of picture card game, drawing favorable and unfavorable places, and making the wish list. 46 children in Seoul area participated in the study. The main physical environments which have been focused in the study are as follows; the type of classroom, atmosphere of library, indoor and outdoor leisure activity space, indoor and outdoor play area, and the pedestrian way from home to school and from school towards home. Quantitative and qualitative analysis were used to attempt to develop children's preference of each place and their wish about school environments. The results have been summarized based on the general preferences and differences of favorite and unfavorite places. The differences between grades and gender have also been discussed focused on the picture game and drawings of favorite and unfavorite places.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of teacher librarians' efficacy and to propose some ways to enhance their efficacy. To do this, questionnaires on 30 teacher librarians who participated in the level 1 certification program of K university in 2018 were conducted. The results showed that their average efficacy was 3.38, the efficacy of teaching method was 3.60, the collective efficacy was 3.38, and the personal efficacy was 3.18. They had high personal efficacy on classroom management, the willingness to lead poor students and the possibility of problem student guidance, and collective efficacy on conflict management with fellow teachers and parents. On the other hand, personal efficacy in problem analysis and guidance for problem students, difficult contents and course instruction were low. Also, the collective efficacy of the conflict between the manager and the education office was low. They have a strong willingness to improve teaching methods for students and showed high efficacy about student synchronization and preparation for teaching. However, they were aware of the lack of learning skills and the lack of various teaching methods. The variables influencing their efficacy were graduation, education level, school size, and degree. Especially, the higher the education level, the more confident and enthusiastic about teaching problemmatic students and disadvantaged students. In addition, teacher librarians with high academic standards showed high confidence in conflict resolution with peers and parents and teaching methods. The improvement direction to enhance their efficacy in this study are increasing the ratio of teacher education in the field of education, reforming teacher librarians training before appointment, establishing supervision organizations for school libraries and improving their professionalism by going to graduate school.

This study analyzed the usage characteristics and requirements of students who are users of the middle school education space, and the following results were obtained: First, we could see that various types of classes were needed, such as lecture-style classes, team projects, and four-person consultation and discussion classes, in a way that helped to improve the desirable teaching patterns and learning ability. Second, the place where space was used during the break and the relationship between peers, revealed that most of them were in the classroom and the hallway, and the peer group was composed of three to eight people or more, that were active with various compositions. Third, a gym, library, toilet, stairway, cafeteria, nurse's office, and teachers' room appeared in the center of the building, indicating the need for a balanced layout. Fourth, physical education (dance) rooms, audiovisual rooms (performance rooms), workshops (personal creation), snack bar, rest area, spacious indoor square, and study rooms were needed as facilities that can help learning activities other than current facilities. These outcomes show that the existing classroom layout and space composition formats require some spatial restructuring.

There are many studies reporting the average carbon dioxide levels in various indoor spaces. However, there have been a few studies showing how carbon dioxide concentration varied at many measurement points in one indoor space. In this study, the changes of indoor carbon dioxide concentration at classroom, library, and kindergarten were reported to find its carbon dioxide distribution change at various locations and altitudes. The maximum carbon dioxide concentration of the 3 sites were measured as 2,684, 2,295, and 1,526 ppm, respectively. These values exceeded the guideline concentration of 1,000 ppm for public places. The concentration of carbon dioxide was higher at upper area than lower area, and this is probably due to the rise of warm breathing air generated from students. In the upper area, the carbon dioxide concentration was higher at center area than four corners. However, in the lower area, the carbon dioxide concentration was higher at four corners than center area. Therefore, it could be concluded that the center of upper area is the best place for the installation of ventilation or carbon dioxide removal system.
