Implementation of SOPC-based Reconfigurable Robot Controller (SOPC 기반의 재구성 가능한 로봇제어기 구현)

  • Recently, a variety of intelligent robots are developed for the personal purpose beyond the industrial application. These intelligent robots have ranges of sensors, actuators, and control algorithms to their application. In this paper we propose a reconfigurable robot controller, $SR^2$c (The SOPC-based Reconfigurable Robot Controller), based on SOPC (System on a Programmable Chip), that can be reconfigurable easily by software. The proposed robot controller contains not only a processing module but also robot-specific IP's. To show a feasibility of the proposed robot controller, a small entertainment robot, Wizard-4 is implemented with a single chip controller as proposed in this paper.

  • It is difficult to adapt modern control theory to power conversion system for the price of real time control H/W and the difficulty of S/W implementation. But recent development of large integrated circuit make it possible that One-Chip microprocessor processes high speed arithmatic calculation used in control theory. Specially this chip is called Digital Signal Processing chip. So, this research developes high performance, high reliable digital control system using TMS320C30 of Texas Instrument for real time control in power conversion system.

  • For the fine-pitch application of flip-chip bonding with semiconductor packaging, fluxing and hybrid underfills were developed. A micro-encapsulated catalyst was adopted to control the chemical reaction at room and processing temperatures. From the experiments with a differential scanning calorimetry and viscometer, the chemical reaction and viscosity changes were quantitatively characterized, and the optimum type and amount of micro-encapsulated catalyst were determined to obtain the best pot life from a commercial viewpoint. It is expected that fluxing and hybrid underfills will be applied to fine-pitch flip-chip bonding processes and be highly reliable.

  • The Titanium has many superior characteristics Which are specific strength, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, organism compatibility, non-magnetic and etc. and their quantity are abundant. this study performed turning operation of Ti-6Al-4V alloy using the TiAlN Coate Tool which treated PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition). Experimental works are also executed to measure cutting force, chip figuration and surface roughness for different cutting conditions. As a result of study. Tool wear was serious at over 100m/min of cutting speed and cutting condition was excellent at 1.0mm of cutting depth.

  • The Resolver usually used in industry is the absolute angle analog sensor that must be in order to driving BLDC (brushless DC) motor, and it needs RDC(Resolver-to-Digital converter) for changing the output signal to digital to be applied to the SVPWM(Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation) algorithm. Commonly used S/W RDC needs trigonometric function. What it takes a lot of calculation time of processor is gotten at weak point. In this paper, S/W RDC is realized except trigonometric functions as a result of feedback resolver outputs after filtering using FIR filter. thus, processing time is reduced. So, One-chip DSP Controller operating the Vector Control, RDC, and SVPWM can be designed.

  • A new 6-axis robot controller with a high-speed 32-bit floating-point DSP TMS32OC30 has been developed in Samsung Electronics. The controller composed of Intel 80386 microprocessor for the main controller, and TKS32OC30 DSP chip for joint position controller. The characteristics of the controller are high sampling rate of 200us and fast reponsibility. The main controller supports MS-DOS, kinematics, trajectory planning, and sensor fusion functions which are vision, PLC, and MAP. The one high speed DSP chip is used for controlling 6 axes of a robot in 200us simultaneously. The control law applied is PID controller including a velocity feedforvard in joint position controller. The performance tests, such as command following, CP, were conducted for the controller integrated with a 6 axes robot developed in Samsung Electronics. The results showed a good performance. This controller can also perform the system control with other controllers, the communication with high priority controllers, and visual information processing.

  • In this paper we present an integrated Hail sensor It for fan motors, fabricated in industrial bipolar process. As a discrete Hall sensor and signal processing circuitry In the fan motor system were Integrated into single chip a temperature dependence of Hall sensitivity and Hall offset voltage can be compensated and cancelled by on-chip circuitry. We Propose a novel temperature compensation of Hall sensitivity with negative temperature coefficient (TC) using the differential amplifier gain with Positive TC. After a package of the chip was sealed using a plastic Package 20 Pins, the thermal and magnetic characteristics were investigated. The obtained experimental results are in agreement with analytical predictions and have more excellent performance than\ulcorner conventional the fan motor system using discrete Hall sensor.
