공예활동 체험요소가 중년여성의 자아존중감과 사회적 지지에 미치는 영향연구 (A Study on effect of Craft Activities Experience Factor to Self-esteem and Social-support for middle-aged women)

  • 중년여성들은 여성성의 상실과 함께 신체적, 정신적 변화를 겪게 되며, 자녀의 성장과 독립으로 돌봄과 양육의 역할이 감소되면서 심리적으로 공허함을 느끼기도 한다. 이 여성들은 자신의 역할감소에 따른 상실감과 공허함을 자신의 여가생활을 위해 자신의 가치관과 신념을 유지하는 계기로 이해하고 있다. 이에 중년여성들은 공예활동체험을 통하여 인간과 인간의 소통을 통한 사회적 관계에서 이루어지는 관계형성과 자아실현의 기회로 인식하여 우울감이나 공허한 마음과 같은 중년의 위기에 나타나는 부정적 감정을 극복하고 자아존중감과 사회적 지지를 확립하고 있다. 우리는 이 연구에서 공예활동의 체험요소가 중년여성의 자아존중감과 사회적 지지에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위하여 공예활동의 체험요소를 독립변수로, 자아존중감과 사회적 지지를 종속변수로 하는 연구모형을 설정하였다. 연구결과 교육적 체험, 오락적 체험, 일탈적 체험은 자아존중감에 유의한 영향을 미치고 있으나 심미적 체험은 유의한 영향을 미치지 못하고 있다. 그리고 오락적 체험, 심미적 체험은 사회적 지지에 유의한 영향을 주지만 교육적 체험, 일탈적 체험에는 유의한 영향을 주지 못하였다. 따라서 중년여성의 감각과 감성의 변화에 영향을 줄 수 있는 체험공간의 환경적 특성인 미학적 요소와 시각적 요소를 살릴 수 있는 콘텐츠와 교류할 수 할 수 있는 출발에서 접근할 수 있도록 공예체험에 대하여 제도적으로 지원하는 방안이 제공되어야 한다. 그리고 공예활동으로 궁극적인 삶에 변화를 주는 요인을 고려하지 않은 한계가 있어 웰빙과 관련된 변수 등을 도출하여 새로운 모형을 제시할 것을 제안하고자 한다.

  • Baby boomers are often defined by their support of their parents and their devotion to their children's educational success by providing financial and emotional aids. Now, 7.12 million baby boomers in South Korea are retiring, or are about to retire, without any retirement plans. Similar to financial stability, health, and leisure life, social capital is another important element in the quality life after retirement. This is because social capital can function as a potential resource network. Social capital is a source that provides money, information, goods, services, emotional aids, social relational opportunities etc. In the past, family and community provided social capital for the aged. However, the baby boomer generation cannot expect the same. The baby boomers have the task of creating new social capital that can assure their quality of life. Therefore, this study examines cohort characteristics of the baby boomer generation and, based on the examination, seeks an alternative for social capital. The results are as follows: First, social capital from the local community can be an alternative source of caring for the baby boomers in old age. Second, among the social capital of the local community, elderly care supported by a family friendly community is proposed. In addition, baby boomers must become the primary social capital that contributes to a mature civil society rather than a beneficiary of welfare for the aged.

결손가정 아동의 정신건강 구조모형 (A Structural Model on the Mental Health in Children from Dysfunctional Families)

  • Purpose: This study was on the structural analysis of the covariant amount in order to evaluate the suitability of the structural models which can explain and predict the mental health of children on the basis of Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory. Methods: A questionnaire was used to survey 269 children from dysfunctional families out of 5th and 6th grade students from 30 elementary schools in one city and 6 counties, which was analyzed by using PASW Statistics 18.0 and LISREL 8.7 programs. Results: The variable which had influence on the self-esteem was the social support. The variable which had influence on the positive reaction under stress was the stress. The variables which had influence on the negative reaction under stress were stress, and self esteem. The variables which had influence on the mental health were the self-esteem and the negative reaction under stress. The main variables to influence the mental health of children from dysfunctional families turned out to be the self-esteem and the negative reaction under stress to the mental health. Conclusion: Evaluating the suitability of the models, I presented the bases on the practical nursing business. They showed the right directions to the mental health care of children from dysfunctional families.

어린이집 교사의 창의적 인성이 교사효능감에 미치는 영향에서 스트레스 대처전략의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effect of Stress-coping Strategies of Childcare Teachers' Creative Personality on Teacher Efficacy)

  • Objective: This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of stress-coping strategies of childcare teachers' creative personality on teacher efficacy. Methods: Study subjects were 204 childcare teachers working at nursery schools located in S city of Gyeonggi province, and this study collected materials from childcare teachers through a self-report survey. For materials collected, this study conducted frequency analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis using spss 21.0, and verified the mediating effect through the Sobel Test. Results of this study are as follows. Results: First, there was a positive correlation among creative personality, teacher efficacy and stress-coping strategies. Second, results show that stress-coping strategies mediate the effect of childcare teachers' creative personality on teacher efficacy. Lastly, problem-focused coping strategies turned out to be full mediation, whereas coping strategies seeking social support was partial mediation. Conclusion: Based on the results, this study suggested the necessity to prepare a practical plan for enabling childcare teachers to use stress-coping strategies in a successful way.

만3세 자녀를 둔 어머니의 양육특성 및 부부특성이 양육스트레스에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Parenting Styles of Mothers of Three-Year-old Children Characteristics of Parents on the Mother's Parenting Stress)

  • This study investigates the relationships between the parenting stress of mothers of three-year-old children, and parenting styles of these mothers, and characteristics of parents to analyze relevant variables influencing parenting stress. Data on a total of 1,704 mothers from the 2011 Korean Children Panel Survey of the Child-Care Policy Research Institute were analysed. First, the parenting stress of mothers of three-year-old children was negatively correlated with parenting style, marital conflict, and husband's cooperation, but positively correlated with their marital conflict. Second, the positive parenting style had the greatest effect on the parenting stress of mothers of three-year-old children, followed by marital conflict. These results demonstrate that parents' positive parenting style and harmony education and social support for the parenting stress of mothers of three-year-old children.

영유아기 자녀를 둔 어머니의 자발적 소모임 참여 경험의 의미 탐색 (The Meaning of Experiences for mothers with young children by Participating in voluntary Small Groups)

  • This study aims to find out the significance in the experiences of voluntary participation in small groups by mothers of young children. As a result of the interviews conducted by targeting five mothers, the total was divided into three categories and six sub-factors. First, mothers voluntarily participated in small groups. Free from the role of mother and wife, they focused on their real selves, and had experiences of emotional support by forming close relationships with people. Second, mothers did not just participate in small groups as a hobby, but tried to be role models that help the growth of their children. They also tried to be the catalyst that helps create positive changes in their children and husbands. Third, mothers had social experiences, participated in economic activities as members of society or exerted their capabilities through active exchange with other people. Finally, this research hopes to provide the community with parent education-related implications that can have a positive impact on mothers themselves, their families and society.

어린이집 교사의 배려적 사고와 의사소통능력 간의 관계 연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Childcare Center Teachers' Caring Thinking and Communication Skills)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between caring thinking and communication skills of childcare center teachers, and the effect of caring thinking on communication skills. Methods: The subjects of this study were 152 teachers working at childcare centers in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The research tool used was a self-reporting questionnaire in order to examine caring thinking and the communication skills of those teachers. For the data analysis, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were used. Results: First, there were significant differences in caring thinking and communication skills according to the age and academic background of the teachers. Second, there was a significant positive correlation between caring thinking and the communication skills of the teachers. Third, responsibility, respect, and a non-directive attitude among the sub-factors of the teachers had a significant impact on communication skills. Conclusion/Implications: In this study, it was found that caring thinking of the teachers was one of the variables that improved communication skills. These results suggest that there is a need to provide various programs and support for enhancing caring thinking as one of the ways to develop the communication skills of childcare center teachers.

어린이집 이용 부모의 역할 책임에 대한 부모의 인식과 실행 차이 (Differences Between Parental Perceptions and Practices of Parental Role Responsibilities for Children Enrolled in Preschools)

  • Objective: This study aims to examine the level of parental perceptions and practices on parental role responsibilities for children enrolled in preschools and to verify the differences. Methods: A total of 301 parents whose children were attending preschools participated in this study. The collected data were analyzed for frequency, factor analysis, and reliability. In addition, the t-test and the Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) were performed. Results: First, there are relatively high levels of perception and practices of parental role responsibilities. Second, parental perception of parental role responsibilities is higher than the level of actual performance. Third, although parents were highly aware of their role responsibilities, there is a great expectation of the role of preschools for the development of the social competence of children. Fourth, parents value the level of practice of role responsibilities in preschools relatively high. Conclusion/Implications: Support systems are needed to reduce the gap between parental perception and practice of their role responsibilities for children enrolled in preschools.

손자녀를 양육하는 할머니의 양육부담에 관한 현상학적 연구 (A Study of the Caregiving Burden on Grandmothers Who Raise Their Grandchildren: A Phenomenological Research)

  • Purpose: This qualitative study aimed to identify the common, lived experiences of grandmothers who cared for their grandchildren as the primary caregivers. Methods: This study was based on the phenomenological method described by Colaizzi (1978). Results: Seven theme clusters emerged from the data as follows: "grandmother caregivers accept the parenting role of the incessant responsibilities and the distrust of non-kin caregivers.", "grandmother caregivers have a double maternal roles; an instrument-oriented maternal role to their own child and relationship-oriented maternal role to their grandchild.", "grandmother caregivers are partially authorized to make decisions in the matters of their grandchild.", "grandmother caregivers suffer a deterioration in their health by an acceleration of the aging process.", "caregiving causes grandmother caregivers to feel a sense of social isolation, and persue various coping strategies to control this feeling.", "grandmother caregivers have a greater feeling of self-esteem, but they often conflict with their adult children if they don't feel appreciated by them.", "grandmother caregivers have limited social support and their health issues are often overlooked in the family context.' Conclusion: The results of this study can guide nurses and health care workers to understand the experiences of grandmother caregivers and to implement individualized nursing interventions suited for them.

Very Early-Onset Inflammatory Bowel Disease: A Challenging Field for Pediatric Gastroenterologists

  • With the increasing number of children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), very early-onset IBD (VEO-IBD), defined as IBD that is diagnosed or that develops before 6 years of age, has become a field of innovation among pediatric gastroenterologists. Advances in genetic testing have enabled the diagnosis of IBD caused by gene mutations, also known as monogenic or Mendelian disorder-associated IBD (MD-IBD), with approximately 60 causative genes reported to date. The diagnosis of VEO-IBD requires endoscopic and histological evaluations. However, satisfactory small bowel imaging studies may not be feasible in this small population. Both genetic and immunological approaches are necessary for the diagnosis of MD-IBD, which can differ among countries according to the available resources. As a result of the use of targeted gene panels covered by the national health insurance and the nationwide research project investigating inborn errors of immunity, an efficient approach for the diagnosis of MD-IBD has been developed in Japan. Proper management of VEO-IBD by pediatric gastroenterologists constitutes a challenge. Some MD-IBDs can be curable by allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. With an understanding of the affected gene functions, targeted therapies are being developed. Social and psychological support systems for both children and their families should also be provided to improve their quality of life. Multidisciplinary team care would contribute to early diagnosis, proper therapeutic interventions, and improved quality of life in patients and their families.
