  • Low density parity check (LDPC) code is widely used, since it shows superior performance close to Shannon limit and its decoding complexity is lower than turbo code. Recently, it is used as a channel code to decode Wyner-Ziv frames in distributed video coding (DVC) system. In this paper, we propose an efficient method to design the parity check matrix H of LDPC codes. In order to apply LDPC code to DVC system, the LDPC code should have rate compatibility. Thus, we also propose a method to merge check nodes of LDPC code to attain the rate compatibility. LDPC code is designed using ACE algorithm and check nodes are merged for a given code rate to maximize the error correction capability. The performance of the designed LDPC code is analyzed extensively by computer simulations.

  • Objectives: The aim of this study is to evaluate the association between vibration exposure and skeletal muscle mass index through a single university health check-up. Methods: We used data from 134,067 male subjects who received a general health check-up or vibration exposure health check-up out of the 1,515,322 people who underwent medical check-up at a local university hospital from 2002 to 2018. Pearson correlation analysis was conducted for comparing the association between skeletal muscle mass index and demographic and hematological variables in both groups. Mixed linear model analysis after controlling demographic and hematological variables was used to analyze the differences in skeletal muscle mass index between groups at every visit over 10 years. Results: In the Pearson correlation test, the variables that showed different results when comparing the two groups were C-reactive protein (p=0.001) and glycated hemoglobin (p=0.002) in the vibration exposure group and erythrocyte sedimentation rate (p<0.001) and vitamin D (p<0.001) in the general group. After the adjustment of demographic and hematologic variables, the skeletal muscle mass index at every visit was markedly decreased in the vibration exposure group (p<0.001). Conclusions: In the vibration exposure group, the skeletal muscle mass index showed a tendency to decrease markedly over time compared to the general health check-up group, which showed that C-reactive protein and glycated hemoglobin would have an influence on skeletal muscle index in male workers exposed to vibration.

  • Damage such as landslides has been caused by natural phenomenon like a heavy rain. As appropriate countermeasures, rather than analysing the cause of the landslide, we used methods of check dam installation and maintenance mountain basin. A check dam is a small, sometimes temporary, dam constructed across a swale, drainage ditch, or waterway to counteract erosion by reducing water flow velocity. In this study, we analysed the adequacy of check dam built to prevent further damage after landslides through GIS and examined the sediment erosion in the existing check dams for an ideal location of check dam, considering the accessibility and size. As a result of reviewing soil loss in the study watershed according to RUSLE(Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation), the basin I had about 2% soil loss reduction, the basin II showed less than 1 % soul loss reduction, and basin III showed the reducing effect of 5 % soil erosion.

  • As buildings become taller, the strength of structural materials must increase and the amount of rebar reinforcement also increases while the application of an appropriate rebar splice method in the construction process become one of the essential factors. In this research, the current status of quality check for rebar coupler is identified by an expert questionnaire and an appropriate quality check method is proposed through a quality test on specimens similar to actual on-site construction. In the test results, it was revealed that, among the quality check methods for rebar coupler joints, the coupler tightening method and face to face degree of between upper and lower rebar did not affect the strength the specimen. Therefore, it is considered to be an appropriate way to check the coupler quality check to check whether the threads are completely assembled during on-site construction through manufacture the number of threads of rebar and coupler with a margin beyond the calculated thread number.

  • In this study, the surface check reduction effect of preservative-treated Korean larch round-wood was investigated by applying three physical treatments, such as incising, kerfing, and kiln-drying. Moreover, the possibility of long-term service life was also checked by comparing the depth of surface check and the penetration depth of preservative. A rapid gradient of wood moisture content between surface and center causes a surface check. Thus, the effect of reducing surface check was carried out at the lowest equilibrium moisture content (EMC) condition, temperature ($2^{\circ}C$), humidity (44.6%), in outdoor locations in Korea until the test specimens reach to the 8.6% EMC. As a result, the preservative-treated specimens without incising, kerfing, kiln-drying (Type C) could not ensure the long-term service life due to a large surface check. Because the surface check depth of all specimens was deeper than the penetration depth of preservative. In case of the incising treated specimens (Type I), 80% of them, the depth of surface check was not deeper than the penetration depth of preservative. However, when a kerfing was additionally treated (Type B), a possibility of happening deeper surface check than penetration depth of preservative was increased rather than Type I.

The result of this study are as follows : 1. For the distribution of diagnosis in males. liver disease was most frequent and hypertension was second : in females, hypertention and liver disease were not common in that order. 2. The most common complaints were indigestion in the digestive system, sputum in the respiratory system, irregular heart beat in the cardiovascular system, frequent urine in the urinary system vertigo in the hematologic system. 3. The main symptoms according to sex were for females, a statistically siguificant higher rate of complaints in the digestive system, cardiovascular system, urinary system, hematologic system, musculoskeletal, mental & nervous system as compared to males. 4. The main symptoms according to age were that in the the second decade there wara higher rate of complaints in the digestive system, and cardiovascular system than in the older age groups : and in the fifth decade more in the musculoskeletal system. 5. The main symptoms according to occupation were that formers and fishers had a higher rate of complaints in the mental and nervous system as compared to other occupation groups : and office workers, in gynecology. 6. The main symptoms according to diagnosis, were symptoms of the digestive system, frequent in liver disease : symptoms of the cardiovascular system in allergic disease. 7. The screening tests which showed the highest rates were UGI /FGS, PFT : In males a higher rate of abnormality was seen in abdominal ultrasono- graphy and in, females, in mammography. 8. In screening tests according to sex, males showed a higher positive rate for chest X-rays, and LFT, and females, in mammography, pap smear, CBC. 9. In screening tests according to age, higher positive rates of obesity, high blood pressure, chest X-ray, mammography, pap smear, FBS, CBC, urine test were seen in the fifth decade : PFT and abdominal ultrasonography in the third decade. The subjects who wanted comprehensive health check-up were not asymptomatic but had an illness with several symptoms. It is found that the most frequent diagnosed diseases were hypertention and liver disease. So proper observations must be done for them. Comprehensive health check-ups should be changed to a comprehensive examination including treatment beyond examination for those subjects with positive results.

  • The study investigates the necessity of 3 dimensional dose distribution evaluation instead of point dose and 2 dimensional dose distribution evaluation. Treatment plans were generated on the RANDO phantom to measure the precise dose distribution of the treatment site 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3 cm with the prescribed dose; 1,200 cGy, 5 fractions. Gamma analysis (3%/3 mm, 2%/2 mm) of dose distribution was evaluated with gafchromic EBT2 film and ArcCHECK phantom. The average error of absolute dose was measured at $0.76{\pm}0.59%$ and $1.37{\pm}0.76%$ in cheese phantom and ArcCHECK phantom respectively. The average passing ratio for 3%/3 mm were $97.72{\pm}0.02%$ and $99.26{\pm}0.01%$ in gafchromic EBT2 film and ArcCHECK phantom respectively. The average passing ratio for 2%/2 mm were $94.21{\pm}0.02%$ and $93.02{\pm}0.01%$ in gafchromic EBT2 film and ArcCHECK phantom respectively. There was a more accurate dose distribution of 3D volume phantom than cheese phantom in patients DQA using tomotherapy. Therefor it should be evaluated simultaneously 3 dimensional dose evaluation on target and peripheral area in rotational radiotherapy such as tomotherapy.

  • In this paper, we have studied the improvement of operational control for the enhancement of business continuity of information system becoming more important with the development of information technology such as big data, Iot, and artificial intelligence. The operational management and audit guidance of the current information system, which is coming in the fourth industrial age, where various services, data and industries are converged, is based on the existing general information system pattern and needs to be improved. The provision of services at fixed times is linked to the survival of enterprises and countries and serves as a key element. Therefore, it is necessary to study the application of optimized check items of the operation audits to minimize the service interruption damage of the information system and to provide the stable service in terms of business continuity management. To accomplish this, the check items presented in the operational control of the information system were derived by combining the PDCA step contents and 8 resource requirements provided in ISO 22301. From the point of view of increasing the business continuity according to the derivation criteria of the inspection items, the operational inspection check items were derived by exemplifying the improved check items and review items of the information system operation audit and the products to be checked during the operational audit. The check items were divided into management audit improvement check items for service continuity management, and operational audit improvement check items for performance and availability management. The average score of the IT professionals' survey on the suitability of the proposed checklist was 4.63, which was concluded to be appropriate.
