  • This paper suggests optimal accelerated constant stress life tests in Exponential distribution. The relationship between the log-mean life and the loaded stress is assumed to be linear. Optimal plans considering mean square errors of maximum likelihood estimators of the log mean life and test costs are obtained. We consider accelerated life tests with two stress levels, and as data types, failure censoring( type II) and time censoring(type I) data are used. We propose the procedure to obtain the optimal plans for each case. Some examples are also included.

  • We propose the ordered least squares estimators(OLSE's) of the parameters and the p-th quantiles for the two-parameter Weibull regression model under the Type II censoring, The Monte Carlo simulations are performed to compare the proposed estimators with the maximum likelihood estimators(MLE's), and it is shown that the proposed estimators are slightly better than MLE's as the censoring rate goes up.

  • We, in this paper, propose an estimator of mean residual life function by using the residual survival function under random censoring and prove the uniform consistency and weak convergence result of this estimator. Also an example is illustrated by the real data.

  • In this paper, the spline hazard rate model to the randomly censored data is introduced. The unknown hazard rate function is expressed as a linear combination of B-splines which is constrained to be linear(or constant) in tails. We determine the coefficients of the linear combination by maximizing the likelihood function. The number of knots are determined by Bayesian Information Criterion. Examples using simulated data are used to illustrate the performance of this method under presenting the random censoring.

  • Progressively censored variables sampling plans are proposed for the lot acceptance of parts whose life follows Weibull distribution with known shape parameter. Progressive type-II censoring gives us not only time to failure but also degradation information. So, one can construct more flexible and more cost effective sampling plans. Design parameters of our sampling plan are determined by using the usual two-point approach.

  • This paper addresses the nonparametric Bayesian estimation for the exponential populations under type II censoring. The Dirichlet process prior is used to provide nonparametric Bayesian estimates of parameters of exponential populations. In the past, there have been computational difficulties with nonparametric Bayesian problems. This paper solves these difficulties by a Gibbs sampler algorithm. This procedure is applied to a real example and is compared with a classical estimator.

  • An economic life test sampling plan for products with exponential lifetime distribution is developed. To reduce test time, a test plan with curtailed Type II censoring is considered. A cost model is constructed which involves three cost components; test cost, accept cost, and reject cost. Determination of optimal plan minimizing the expected average cost per lot is discussed with a constraint related to consumer's risk. Some numerical examples are provided.

  • Accelerated life testing(ALT) of products quickly yields information on life. In this paper, we investigate asymptotic normalities of maximum likelihood(ML) estimators of parameters for ALT model under Type II censored data using results of Bhattacharyya(1985). Further illustrations include the treatment of asymptotic of the exponential and Weibull regression models.

  • The inferences on a series system under the usual condition using data from constant stress partially accelerated life tests and type I censoring is studied. Two optimal designs to determine the sample proportion allocated each stress level model are also presented, which minimize the sum of the generalized asymptotic variances of maximum likelihood estimators of the failure rate and the acceleration factors and the sum of the asymptotic variances of maximum likelihood estimators of the acceleration factors for each component. Each component of a system is assumed to follow an exponenial distribution.
