  • In this parer, we analyze the preamble model in the OFDMA/TDD(OFDM-FDMA/Time Division Duplexing). Besides, under AWGN, ITU-R M.1225 Ped-B and Veh-A channel environments, we analyze capabilities of symbol timing & carrier frequency offset and performance of cell searching capabilities applied to OFDM/TDD system through computer simulation. The performance using Detection Probability, False Alarm Probability, Missing Probability, Mean Acquisition Time and MSE(Mean Square Error) is analyzed. Especially, in the case of symbol timing offset estimation, the preamble structure and its algorithm with enhanced performance are proposed and then compared with existing ones.

  • This paper describes the design of a cellphone curved glass measuring device using by camera. The measuring device was composed of two camera, two backlight system, a body and so on, and the program was made for a camera calibration and noise removal, and also the program was made for height measurement of a cellphone curved glass using by subpixel algorism. And then a new technique for measuring the height of the cell phone curved glass was proposed. The characteristics test of height measurement of gage blocks and cell phone curved glasses was carried out, the error of the height measurement of gage block is less than ${\pm}0.005$ and the error of the height measurement of the cell phone curved glasses is less than ${\pm}0.005$. Thus it thought that the designed cellphone curved glass measuring device and the new technique for measuring the height was used to measure the height of the cellphone curved glass.

  • In the analysis of categorical data subject to misclassification errors, the observed cell proportions are adjusted by a misclassification probabilities and estimates of variances are adjusted accordingly. In this case, it is important to determine the extent to which misclassification probabilities are homogeneous within a population. This paper considers methods to evaluate the power of chi-squared tests for homogeneity with complex survey data subject to misclassification errors. Two cases are considered: adjustment with homogeneous misclassification probabilities; adjustment with heterogeneous misclassification probabilities. To estimate misclassification probabilities, logistic regression method is considered.

  • In order to estimate cell images, high-performance electron microscopes are used nowadays. In this paper, we propose a new simple, fast and efficient method for real-time automatic focusing in electron microscopes. The proposed algorithm is based on the prediction-error variance, and demonstrates its feasibility by using extensive experiments. This method is fast, easy to implement, accurate, and not demanding on computation time.

  • Dynamic resistance equalization is a viable technique to balance SOC of cells in a parallel-connected battery configuration due to high equalization performance, simplicity and low-cost. However, an inappropriate design of the equalization resistor can degrade the equalization performance and increase the power loss. This paper proposes an optimization process to design the equalization resistors to minimize power loss and equalization error. The simulation results show that the optimally designed resistor significantly enhance the performance in comparison with the conventional fixed-resistor equalization.

  • The cell counting of colonial Microcystis spp. is a rather difficult and error-prone proposition, as this genus forms irregularly-shaped and irregularly-sized colonies, which are packed with cells. Thus, in order to facilitate a cell count, four methods of dividing the colonies into single cells were compared, including vortexing, sonication, $TiO_2$ treatment, and boiling. As a result, the boiling method was determined to generate the greatest number of single cells from a colony, and all colonies were found to have divided completely after only 6 min of treatment. Furthermore, no significant cell destruction, which might alter the actual cell density, was detected in conjunction with the boiling method (P=0.158). In order to compute the cell number more simply, the relationship between the colony size and the cell number was determined, via the boiling method. The colony volume, rather than the area or diameter was correlated more closely with the cell number ($r^2=0.727$), thereby suggesting that the cell numbers of colonial Microcystis sp. can also be estimated effectively from their volumes.

  • We present a novel flow-rate independent cell counter using a fixed control volume between double electrical sensing zones. The previous device based on the single electrical cell sensing in a given flow-rate requires an accurate fluid volume measurement or precision flow rate control. The present cell counter, however, offers the flow-rate independent method for the cell concentration measurement with counting cells in a fixed control volume of $22.9{\pm}0.98{\mu}{\ell}$. In the experimental study, using the RBC (Red Blood Cell), we have compared the measured RBC concentrations from the fabricated devices with those from Hemacytometer. The previous and present devices show the maximum errors of $20.3\%\;and\;16.1\%$, which are in the measurement error range of Hemacytometer (about $20\%$). The present device also shows the flow-rate independent performance at the constant flow-rates ($5{\mu}{\ell}/min$ and $10{\mu}{\ell}/min$) and the varying flow-rate (4, 2, and $4{\mu}{\ell}/min$). Therefore, we demonstrate that the present cell counter is a simple and automated method for the cell concentration measurement without requiring an accurate fluid measurement and precision flow-rate control.

  • The focus of this paper is to develop a mathematical model for investigating the dynamic performance of a polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell. The model in this work is based on physical laws having clear significance in replicating the fuel cell system and can easily be used to set up different operational strategies. Simulation results display the transient behavior of the voltage within each single cell, and also within a number of such single cells combined into a fuel cell stack system. A linear as well as a nonlinear analysis of the polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell system(PEMFC) has been discussed in order to present a complete and comprehensive view of this kind of modeling. Also, a comparison of the two kinds of analysis has been performed. Finally, the various characteristics of the fuel cell system are plotted in order to help us understand its dynamic behavior. Results indicate that there is a considerable amount of error in the modeling process if we use a linear model of the fuel cell. Thus, the nonlinearities present in the fuel cell system should be taken into account in order to obtain a better understanding of the dynamic behavior of the fuel cell system.

  • Personal Communication Networks will be composed of ATM-based broadband ISDN in the future. However, unlike the wired networks, many challenges will arise in the wireless communication service such as PCS. These callenges are frequency alteration of cell routing path, relatively very high error rate at transmission over the wireless interface, etc. Particularly, the alteration of cell routing path caused by handoff makes temporary deterioration of QoS. In this paper, the signaling flows of handoff scenarios which may occur on Personal Communication Networks are presented, and verified by Pertri-Net toolkit. In addition, the cell flow control scheme which minimizes the lagging gap between cells and maintains the cell sequence during handoff is proposed. The proposed scheme can be summarized as the differentiation of normal queue and handoff queue, and the cell flow control between these queues. For verification of the proposed scheme, we used two approaches, which are mathermatical manipulation and SLAM simulation.

  • This work presents a low-voltage static random access memory (SRAM) technique based on a dual-boosted cell array. For each read/write cycle, the wordline and cell power node of selected SRAM cells are boosted into two different voltage levels. This technique enhances the read static noise margin to a sufficient level without an increase in cell size. It also improves the SRAM circuit speed due to an increase in the cell read-out current. A 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS 256-kbit SRAM macro is fabricated with the proposed technique, which demonstrates 0.8 V operation with 50 MHz while consuming 65 ${\mu}W$/MHz. It also demonstrates an 87% bit error rate reduction while operating with a 43% higher clock frequency compared with that of conventional SRAM.
