Real-time EtherCAT Master Implementation on Xenomai for a Robot System

  • This paper describes a real-time EtherCAT Master library. The library is developed using Xenomai. Xenomai is a real-time development framework. It cooperates with the Linux kernel, in order to provide a pervasive, interface-agnostic, hard real-time support to user-space applications, seamlessly integrated into the GNU/Linux environment. The proposed master library implements EtherCAT protocol for master side, and supports Application Programming Interfaces(APIs) for programming of real-time application which controls EtherCAT slave.

산업용 필드버스 기반의 안전 펜스 시스템 개발 및 성능 평가 (Implementation and Performance Evaluation of Safety Fence System Based on Industrial Fieldbus)

  • Recently, the importance of industrial fieldbus has been highlighted since the emergence of Industry 4.0. In particular, the Ethernet-based fieldbus protocol is actively used in automation systems. This paper proposes a safety fence system based on EtherCAT, a type of Ethernet-based fieldbus, to measure external loads. In order to measure the external loads, a force sensor was connected to an EtherCAT slave that transmits the sensor data to an EtherCAT master in real-time. The master ultimately controls the angle of the safety fence when it detects danger based on the given data. In the future, more effiecient safety fence system will be developed by using a HMI system to communicate with the EtherCAT master to manage safety and by employing multiple sensors to increase the accuracy of the fence system.

Molecular Detection of Mycoplasma felis Infection in a Cat with Respiratory Symptoms

  • A 6-month-old male cat was presented for investigation of depression, loss of appetite, dehydration, pale conjunctival mucous membrane, weight loss, fast heart and respiratory rates, nasal discharge and cough. Nasal swabs collected from the studied cat. As the results of bacterial culture with nasal swabs, it was suspected with Mycoplasma spp. Also, Mycoplasma species was detected by the PCR reaction with Mycoplasma genus primers. At species PCR assay, the specimens evaluated for the presence of M. felis, M. arginini, M. gateae, and Acholeplasma laidlawii and the result was visualization of bands from 238 bp in agarose gel 1.5% showing M. felis amplicons in samples. In conclusion, we detected M. felis in a cat with respiratory disease. PCR was able to detect successfully M. felis infection in cats.

Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy in a Cat with Hepatic Lipidosis

  • A Turkish angora cat with a one-week history of anorexia and vomiting was diagnosed with hepatic lipidosis. During hospitalization and treatment, the cat suddenly showed respiratory-related clinical signs, including coughing and dyspnea, 13 days after initial diagnosis. Due to the poor response to treatment, the patient was euthanized at the owner's request. A postmortem histopathologic examination of the cat's heart showed dilation and wall thinning of the right atrium and ventricle, with fibrofatty infiltration corresponding to an arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy (ARVC). This is a case report of ARVC concurrent with hepatic lipidosis in a cat; both diseases are related to disturbances in lipid metabolism.

G-, C-Banding 및 NORs 분포 양상에 따른 한국산 단모고양이(Felis catus)의 핵형분석 (The G-, C-, and NOR-Banded Karyotypes of Korean Short-hair Cat(Felis catus))

  • The karyotype of Korean short-hair cat was presented using the G-, C- and NOR-banding techniques. For chromosomes preparation, the fetus skin fibroblast cells were cultured and metaphases were obtained. In results, the Korean short-hair cat had 38 chromosomes with XX or XY, which consisted of 5 pairs of metacentric chromosomes(Group A and C), 3 pairs of submetacentric chromosomes (Group B), 6 pairs of medium metacentric chromosomes except for 1 pair of medium submetacentric D2 chromosomes (Group D, E), 2 pairs of acrocentric chromosomes(Group F) and metacentric X and Y sex chromosomes. In G-banding analysis, the Korean short-hair cat exhibited a typical and identical G-banding pattern in each homologous chromosome. Total number of bands and landmarks on the G-banded chromosomes of Korean short-hair cat well correspond to those of international standardization of karyotype of domestic cat. The heterochromatins of Korean short-hair cat chromosomes distributed at terminal and/or centromere regions on almost chromosomes by C-banding analysis. In addition, the C-banding pattern showed greatly heteromorphic in some chromosomes. Using the AgNOR-staining, we found the nucleolar organizer regions(NORs) of Korean short-hair cat located at chromosomes 1p12 site in E group. The quantity and number of NORs were constant among cells.

미꾸라지(Misgurnus mizolepis)에서 pFV4CAT 의 조직 특이적 발현 (Nam and Kim #1 Tissue-specific expression of pFV4CAT in transgenic mud loach (Misgurnus mizolepis) germ line)

  • 외래유전자, pFV4CAT이 이식된 transgenic 미꾸라지 계통 F1 및 F2를 대상으로 조직별 외래 유전자의 발현을 조사하였다. Transgenic F1에서 pFV4CAT의 mRNA 합성 여부를 조사하기 위해 정소(testis), 간(liver), 근육(muscle), 비장(spleen) 및 심장(heart) 조직을 RT-PCR로 분석한 결과, 조직별 mRNA 존재 여부는 F1 계통간 큰 차이를 나타내었으며, 다른 조직들에 비해 간(liver)과 비장(spleen)에서 보다 빈번히 발현하는 경향을 나타내었다. 외래 유전자에 의해 합성된 CAT 단백질을 ELISA로 정량화한 결과, 조직별 및 transgenic 계통별 다양한 차이가 있었으며, 다른 조직에 비해 근육과 심장에서 가장 높은 수준으로 발현하는 것으로 나타나 F1 한 계통의 근육에서, 대조군 수치의 최고 68배에 해당하는 CAT 발현이 관찰되였다. 반면 정소에서 가장 낮은 외래 유전자의 발현이 모든 transgenic line에서 관찰되었다.

UV-A 반복노출로 인한 항산화효소의 구조변성과 효소활성의 상관관계 (The Relationship between Structural Denaturation of Antioxidative Enzymes and Their Enzyme Activity due to Repeated Exposure to UV-A)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 안구에 존재하는 항산화효소인 superoxide dismutase(SOD)와 catalase(CAT)가 UV-A에 반복적으로 노출되었을 때 이들의 구조 및 활성의 변화가 유발되는지 알아보고 이들의 상관관계를 밝히고자 수행되었다. 방법: SOD와 CAT의 표준품으로 각각의 효소용액을 제조하고 하루 30분, 1시간 및 2시간씩 365 nm의 UV-A에 노출시키는 조건으로 1, 2, 3, 4 및 5일 동안 UV-A에 반복적으로 노출시켰다. UV-A 반복노출에 따른 SOD와 CAT의 구조변성은 전기영동분석으로 확인하였으며, 이들 효소의 활성은 분석키트를 이용하여 비색분석법으로 측정하였다. 결과: UV-A에 반복노출된 SOD는 일일 1시간 이상 조건으로 반복노출되었을 때 전기영동분석에서 효소의 다중화(polymerization)가 관찰되었으나 활성의 변화는 12% 이내로 나타났다. 반면 UV-A에 반복노출된 CAT는 전기영동 시 효소의 밴드크기가 감소하여 구조변성이 나타났음을 알 수 있었으며, 효소활성 또한 유의하게 감소됨을 확인하였다. 반복노출시간이 긴 경우 CAT은 전기영동분석에서는 효소밴드를 보임에도 불구하고 그 활성은 완전히 소실됨을 알 수 있었다. 결론: 이상의 결과로 UV-A 반복노출에 따른 항산화효소의 구조변성은 효소의 종류에 따라 그 정도와 양상이 다르게 나타나며, 구조변성이 효소활성의 감소정도와 반드시 일치하는 것은 아님을 알 수 있었다.

차량내 통신을 위한 EtherCAT 네트워크의 전송지연 및 고장복구 특성 분석 (Analysis of Transmission Delay and Fault Recovery Performance with EtherCAT for In-Vehicle Network)

  • IT기술의 발전에 힘입어 지능형 센서 및 지능형 액추에이터 채택이 증가하면서 차량내 통신 네트워크를 통한 데이터 전송은 꾸준한 증가 추세를 보이고 있다. 2015년에는 차량내 통신 네트워크를 통한 전송 데이터량이 2010년 대비 2배 이상 증가하며, 차량제어에 필요한 네트워크 노드 수는 2010년 대비 1.5배 이상 증가할 것으로 전망된다. 이와 같이 차량내 데이터량의 증가가 예상됨에 따라 최근 자동차 산업계에서는 차량용 통신 네트워크로서 EtherCAT, TTEthernet 등 산업용 Ethernet에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 차량내 데이터 전송을 위한 산업용 Ethernet으로 주목받고 있는 EtherCAT의 전송지연 특성과 고장복구 특성을 분석할 수 있는 모델을 제안한다. 실험용 EtherCAT 네트워크를 구성하여 제안한 모델의 정확성을 검증하였다.

  • Wake turbulence generated by the lead aircraft has a significant impact on the following aircraft and it is has been considered a key factor to consider whenin determining the longitudinal separation between the aircraft. ICAO classifies aircraft into four wake turbulence categories based on the maximum takeoff weight and provides the longitudinal separation minima for each category. Due to richer measured data and better understanding of physical processes, it is raised that classifying aircraft with only four wake turbulence grades is imprecise and leads to over-separation in many instances. In this regards, much research on a new method of classifying Wake Turbulence Category(Re-CAT) has been done by EURO-CONTROL, FAA, and ICAO. The main purpose of this study is to conduct a comparative analysis of the existing wake turbulence separation standards with Re-CAT in terms of departure capacity and the resulting benefits of Re-CAT using the data from the Incheon International Airport. The results show that EUROCONTROL and new ICAO standards have the greater effect on reducing wake turbulence separation, compared to the FAA RE-CAT standards. It is also concluded that Re-CAT presents different results of wake turbulence separation depending on the flight characteristics of each airport.

한국의 청천난류 예보 시스템에 대한 연구 Part I: 한국형 통합 난류 예측 알고리즘 (A Study of Forecast System for Clear-Air Turbulence in Korea Part I: Korean Integrated Turbulence Forecasting Algorithm (KITFA))

  • Based on the pilot reports (PIREPs) collected in South Korea from 2003 to 2008 and corresponding Regional Data Assimilation and Prediction System (RDAPS) analysis data of 30 km resolution, we validate the Korean Integrated Turbulence Forecasting Algorithm (KITFA) system that predicts clear-air turbulence (CAT) above the Korean peninsula. The CATs considered in this study are the upper level (higher than 20000 ft) turbulence excluding convectively induced turbulences. In the KITFA system, there are two main processes for predicting CATs: to select CAT indices and to determine their weighting scores. With the PIREPs observed for much longer period than those used in the current operational version of the KITFA system (March 4-April 8 of 2002), three improvable processes of the current KITFA system, re-calculation of weighting scores, change of method to calculate weighting scores, and re-selection of CAT indices, are tested. The largest increase of predictability is presented when CAT indices are selected by using longer PIREP data, with the minor change using different methods in calculation of weighting scores. The predictability is the largest in wintertime, and it is likely due to that most CAT indices are related to the jet stream that is strongest in wintertime. This result suggests that selecting proper CAT indices and calculating their weighting scores based on the longer PIREPs used in this study are required to improve the current KITFA.
