The purpose of this study is to identify the problems of the e-book composition provided by the Comprehensive Reading Education Support System and to propose a service improvement plan related to the establishment of e-books in school libraries as educational resources based on practical issues and perceptions experienced by teacher-librarians. As a research method, the composition of the collection of 3,002 e-books supported by the Busan Comprehensive Reading Education Support System as a reading education platform of the school library was analyzed based on the Korean Decimal Classification. Based on this, two focus group interviews (FGI) were conducted with 4 elementary teacher-librarians and 5 secondary teacher-librarians working in Busan. The result of this study can be used as basic data to support students' reading activities using e-books as educational resources and to form an efficient e-book collection in school library.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the meaning of picture book reading experience for 2-year-old children using sensory reading media and to suggest a plan to support language ability through meaningful reading. For this study, 35-month-old boys were selected, and data collection was conducted based on participant observation and field record notes at home and analyzed qualitatively. In this study, for about two months from March 20th to April 30th, 2021, all the time of exploring picture books and playing were recorded and the data were collected. The recording time was about 20 hours, and the collected data and field records were transcribed on 108 pages of A4 paper. The results of the study showed that 2-year-old infants were immersed in exploring new media through the experience of reading picture books using sensory reading media, comparing with similar media, and reading picture books using media. In addition, it was found that the emergence of leading reading that selects and reads books by Hans himself, exploration using reading media, and play linked to picture books in everyday life.This can be seen as a result of suggesting that the picture book reading experience of 2-year-olds using sensory reading media is meaningful to the reading experience of infants.

The emergence of E-book have allowed readers to interact with other readers and to actively participate (e.g. social reading). Furthermore, there is a growing demand in writer's community to take the advantage of the feedback from their readers to update the content of E-book. To do that, they require the service that utilizes the user feedback while creating or updating the e-book content. This study aims to let authors collect and to apply the reader's feedback on E-book content. However, in order to apply the user feedback, users first need to explicitly type the feedback, and even if they do, authors need to develop the software to automatically analyze and to apply the user feedback. This makes difficult for authors without programming background to produce E-book with automatic content adaptation. In this paper, we propose Feedback Clue Model to generate, analyze and apply the user feedback into E-book content. Based on this model, we develop the block editor which allows easy implementation of E-book that can be dynamically updated.

Objective: The purpose of the study was to investigate the current status of early childhood teachers' picture book reading activities and their knowledge and utilization of the picture book peritexts. Methods: The subjects were 276 early childhood teachers in Seoul metropolitan area. The survey was conducted to investigate early childhood teachers' current status of picture book reading activities as well as their knowledge and utilization of picture book peritexts. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 21.0 program to analyze descriptive statistics such as frequency and percentage. Results: As results, most early childhood teachers recognized that reading picture books to young children was very important and responded that the purpose of reading picture books was to develop children's imagination and creativity. In terms of early childhood teachers' knowledge on 12 peritexts, some peritexts such as 'title', 'cover' and 'title page' were recognized at high level but other peritexts such as typography and layout were at low level. In addition, early childhood teachers' utilization level of peritexts were shown as relatively low compared to their knowledge level. Conclusion/Implications: The study results imply that early childhood teachers need to be informed of the concepts of picture book peritexts and encouraged to utilize peritexts while reading picture books to young children.

The purpose of this study is to develop a model of attitude toward reading. For that the concept and factors of reading attitude were examined and the preceding reading attitude models were critically studied to propose the new reading attitude model. The reading attitude model is consisted of three component named reading environment domain, reader domain and reading domain. The results of the development of a model of attitude toward reading are as follows. First, This study proposed a theoretical framework that can check and measure the reading attitude in various aspects by dividing reading attitudes into cognition, affect and intention factors. Second, It reinforced the logicality on the construct of reading attitude by dividing behavioral factor of reading attitude into the intention and the behavior. Third, This Model reflected the importance of book with text by specifying physical books and reading a book in the model. Fourth, this model theoretically proposes the potential for change of reading attitude and behavior by suggesting cognitive and affective schema from reading experience. Fifth, the developed reading attitude model helps to understand the form and process of reading attitude by presenting impact of reading environment and stimulation derived from reading environment on reader and reader's reading behavior and affective relation on feedback.

The purpose of this research was to find out how the interactions between mothers and their children differed depending on the age of the child and the type of book. The subjects of this study were thirty 2-year-olds and thirty 4-year-olds and their mothers. The number of male and female children was the same. The maternal interactions were analyzed in term of attention gelling, explanation, request, asking questions, and feedbacks, and the children's verbal and nonverbal reactions were also analyzed. The results showed that the characteristics of the mother and child interactions were different according the age of the child and the type of picture books. The results were discussed from the perspective of maternal scaffolding and the quality of mother-child interactions. The implications of the study were suggested in terms of the importance of the picture books and maternal roles in reading pictures books to their child.

Because the electronic book field tends to be marked by rapid changes, keeping current with the events and the literature can be difficult. The electronic book means for reading on PCs or hand-held devices were also limited by the quality of the screen. The electronic book will survive and reading devices become much cheaper and much better in quality. This paper, based on recent electronic book technologies, addresses some of the issues that are central to the acceptance and integration of electronic book into academic library. It also addresses the current electronic book environment, notes the increasing issues, details the management factors in academic library, and examines potential future electronic book directions.

The purpose of this research is to perform reading based on their levels of reading readiness for different groups of readers, to develop the Book Talk Show program which was dependent on the philosophies and emotions on reconstructed topics of the concerned books by Talk, Music, and Video Shows, enabled communal sharing of the effects of reading, to provide an evaluation tool of such applications in real readings, and to evaluate the validity and usefulness of the devised program scheme. At first, the concept of "Book Talk Shows" was established on the base of the definition of Talk, Music, and Video Shows, then the program was applied to the readers across 4 different Book Talk Shows, and examined its problems and any possible revisions. At the same time, the survey was conducted on 39 experts and professional in the field of Book Talk Show management[31 people(79.5%) provided answers to the survey) on the validity and usefulness of the devised program scheme. The Results of survey showed that 27 people(87.1% of the people who provided answers to the survey) said that these suggestions were "very valuable and useful" and 24 people from this group(88.9%) said that they would like to "apply" such program designs to their own programs. However, the vast majority of the recipients said that they would face problems of 'budget' and 'readiness' when applying such program design, and emphasized the importance of budget assurance in developing and applying future models in Book Talks Show programs.

The present study was designed to examine fathers' awareness and practice of picture book reading with toddlers. The subjects were 221 fathers who have toddlers, and the data collected by questionnaires were analysed by mean and standard deviation, and frequency analysis. As a result, approximately 59% of fathers stated that it is essential to read to their children who are 12 month old or less, and 36% of fathers answered that they read books as much as their children wanted. The majority considered the emotional aspect of picture book reading as being significant. Also, nearly half (46%) of the fathers read books to their children 1-2 times per week, and 37% of them spent 6-10 minutes at a time reading books. While reading books, 60% of the fathers explained text and pictures to their children and a fourth of the fathers answered their children's questions. Also, while reading books, fathers tried to accept their toddlers' responses positively. However, they did not have much time to read books to their children and had little knowledge on how to read books to infants. Further research and education programs on picture book reading for fathers are needed.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of reading activity of employees in public libraries on their job satisfaction and organizational commitment which was suggested by previous studies proving the relationship among the variables in the business area. The results from the survey indicate that there were significant differences in job satisfaction, satisfaction with human relationship, satisfaction of self-realization, affective commitment, and continuance commitment in terms of the frequency of participation in a book club. Additionally, the number of employees' reading books and hours spent for reading significantly influenced their job satisfaction and the hours spent for reading significantly influenced affective commitment. It was also found that participation continuity for a book club influenced on satisfaction level of social recognition, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Job satisfaction level had a complete mediation effect between reading hours and affective commitment, and satisfaction from social recognition had a complete mediation effect between participation continuity in a reading meeting, continuance commitment, and normative commitment. Based on these results, this study suggests a plan for constructing a good environment for employees to read through introducing a reading management as follows. Firstly, managers of public libraries need to take an active interest in reading management and various programs to encourage employees to read need to be provided. Secondly, public libraries are required to encourage their employees' participation in book clubs and support them, so that the employees are able to participate in the book club consistently. Finally, institution-level consistent motivation is needed for an active reading activity.
