  • Carpal tunnel syndrome, carpal tunnel becomes part of a narrower median nerve pain occurs pressed. How a stable wrist stretch for the prevention of carpal tunnel syndrome is required, it should life guides to fit the user is provided. In this research, users themselves recognize the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome, to be able to stretch, it implements the application. Application, based on the usage time set by the user, executes the alarm and lock. At this time, the user may utilize arduino and inertia sensor, it is possible to wrist stretch, to analyze usage patterns, it is possible to provide a medical information and life guides to suit the user. Data using Bluetooth 4.0 communication has been to meet the runaway. In order to evaluate the mounted system, targeting four subjects, the time and the touch frequency of usage of the 3-day smartphone measured, as a result of the questionnaire, it reduces the frequency of use of smartphones, a positive it was possible to prove the effect.

  • Recently, IoT technologies attract much attenction in medical area. Previous medical IoT had focused mainly on chronological diseases or fitness for particular users. Contrarily, medical use of the IoT technologies is now extended for medical institutes and hospitals to care intensively in-house patients, which requires typically more strict and reliable data delivery and security, authentication and authorization. This study defines scenario of the medical IoT for the intensive care and proposes an architecture of the medical IoT services. We implement a testbed using commerical sensors and Arduino board together with a Web-based platform. Experiment results on the testbed show that our approach can be feasible for the medical system in terms of latency and accuracy in medical data delivery.

  • A study on Ontology-based indoor positioning techniques using BLE Beacon. Recently BLE beacon has been widely used as a technique for measuring the indoor location. But it requires a filtering technique for the measurement of the correct position, and uses the most fixed beacon. It is not accurate that calculates the position information through the identification of the beacon signal. Therefore, filtering is important. So it takes a lot of time, position measurement and filtering. Thus, we is to measure the exact position at the indoor using a mobile beacon. The measured beacon signal is composed of an ontology for reuse in the same pattern. RSSI is measured the receiver is the distance of the beacon. And this value configure the location ontology to be normalized by the relationship analysis between the values. The ontology is a method for calculating the position information of the moving beacon. It may be detected fast and accurate indoor position information.

  • The poor working conditions of transit drivers not only lead to mental stress and fatigue accumulation of workers, but also to the main causes of mass transit accidents. Stress and fatigue accumulation are closely related to the vital signs because they affect the psychological and physical health. In this paper, we designed a digital garment which can measure driver's health condition by measuring electrocardiogram, pulse rate and body temperature. Also proposed a system that transmits the measured bio-signal to the smartphone app via Bluetooth and transmits the current position of the driver to the server by using the built-in GPS of the smartphone, assuming there is something wrong.

  • In recent years, many researches in Home Networking are being progressed actively. Most of techniques for Home Networking are based on wired but the technique for wireless connection is also needed. This paper focuses on wireless connection in Home Networking. Of many of wireless technologies, such as Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, or HomeRF, we especially propose to apply the new technique called Wireless Sensor Network. We present hardware and protocol stack design consideration for wireless sensor node and wireless sensor network, and then we present how to apply wireless sensor network to Home Networking and how to constitute Wireless Home-Networking with a variety of sensor nodes. Finally, we introduce the wireless sensor node system designed by us and conclude this paper.

  • Almost of alternate computer access devices which assist people with disabilities to utilize the computer connected to computer by some cables or installed in as a S/W program. These devices have some spatial limitations to the people with disabilities, it can't guarantee the free and diverse access to the computer. For these reasons, in this paper, an Android-based mouse program for alternative computer access was developed. A people with physical disabilities who has some limitation of hand movements can use it in anywhere and anytime using only the fine motor skill of the upper limbs. The developed device recognizes the user's point touch and transforms it into the location of mouse cursor. The location information transferred to the computer via Bluetooth communication module equipped in smart devices. Also the group scanning method which can reduce the user's fatigue degree was employed and click, double click, drag & drop functions by hand's movements were equipped. The developed device will help the people with disabilities to use computer with brief touch and convenient operation without spatial limitation.

  • As computing environments are more rapidly developed, an adaptive and intelligent services using post PC such as PDA. Laptop, and Tablet PC in case of rounding and examining patients are highly demanded. The objective of this study is to design and implement a context-awareness support system based on voice service for medical environments. To achieve it, we propose a context middleware which plays an important role in recognizing a client with PDA by using a Bluetooth wireless communication technology as well as in executing an appropriate execution module, like delivery for diagnosis information of patients, according to the staff's context acquired from a context server. In addition, the context server functions as a manager that efficiently stores context information such as client's current status, physical environment, and device resources into a database server. Finally, for verifying the usefulness of the proposed system, we develop an application system which provides voice playing services for notification of other physicians through our context middleware.

  • This study designed and fabricated a multi-purpose planar antenna for base stations that are accessible to DCS, WiBro, and ISM. The proposed antenna was designed into an open loop form from the existing monopole structure. The capacitance of the multi-purpose antenna was increased by the coupling of open parts. This makes the use of MMIC and LTCC convenient and the antenna is smaller and has a larger gain than existing antennas. The resonance distance and bandwidth can be adjusted by changing the open gap and the height of the loop of the antenna. The bandwidth of the designed antenna satisfies DCS, IMT-2000, WiBro, Bluetooth, wireless LAN and ISM bands based on VSWR 2. The entire frequency bandwidth is $58.75\%$ of $1.575GHz\~2.985GHz(1.41GHz)$. Also, the radiation pattern of the antenna displayed co-polarization and cross-polarization characteristics at 1.6GHz, 2.3GHz and 2.8GHz.

  • In recent years, among the IoT products that are used in various ways in everyday life, motorized products are increasing. This study aims to develop a microcontroller unit that can easily control multiple motors and develop an application that makes use of this microcontroller unit. The basis of the hardware developed by the research was the Arduino board, and to it, the Bluetooth module, Zigbee module, and a motor driver were connected. To control the device, an application was designed. The final microcontroller unit and its application may be applied to electric curtains, electric blinds, robots, and other various IoT products. Further research will lead to hardware development that can control various types of motors other than stepping motors.

  • In this paper, we aim to respond efficiently to crime by using Arduino and smartphone apps in response to increasing number of house-breaking crimes. It receives the signal of the sensor installed in the house and connects it with the app of the smartphone. To use the app, you can download the app from the user's smartphone, launch the app, and operate the operation outside the home, not only inside the house, by linking the executed app. Among the sensors installed in the house, the movement detection sensor is used to enhance the security, and the gas leakage sensor and the flame detection sensor can be used to easily detect the risk of fire and to prevent the fire early. Security is further enhanced by the ability to remotely control the front door with a smartphone. After that, various sensors can be added and it can be developed as a WiFi module in addition to the Bluetooth module.
