A CONCEPTUAL DESIGN OF NEW AUTOMATIC BICYCLE TRANSMISSION BY TRIZ AND DESIGN AXIOM

  • This paper represents a study on the conceptual design of new automatic bicycle transmission. The gear change in a commercial bicycle is carried out by moving the chain between sprockets. By the use of a multiple sprocket for speed change the power loss and transmission shock may occur. To solve the problem of bicycle transmission, the improved solution was derived by the technical contradiction matrix of TRIZ. The conceptual solution is one sprocket which replaces the function of multiple sprockets and adapts actively to the pitch of chain. And it was confirmed to be an adequate design through the Independence Axiom of design axiom.

  • It is shown that every continuum-wise expansive C1 generic vector field X on a compact connected smooth manifold M satisfies Axiom A and has no cycles, and every continuum-wise expansive homoclinic class of a C1 generic vector field X on a compact connected smooth manifold M is hyperbolic. Moreover, every continuum-wise expansive C1 generic divergence-free vector field X on a compact connected smooth manifold M is Anosov.

  • Smale [16] posed the following question; is having an attracting periodic orbit a generic property for diffeomorphisms of two-sphere $S^2\ulcorner$(A generic property of $f \in Diff(M)$ is one that is true for a Baire set in Diff(M)). Mane[5] and Plykin[13] had an positive answer for Axiom A diffeomorphisms of $S^2$. To explain our theorem, we begin by briefly recalling stability conjecture posed by palis and smale.

  • Let f be a $C^2$-diffeomorphism on a closed surface which satisfies the Axiom A. Then f is in the $C^2$-interior of the set of all diffeomorphisms having the inverse shadowing property with respect to the class of the continuous methods if and only if f satisfies the strong transversality condition.

  • The axiomatic geometry unit of the space figure in Mathematics II in the expository book of high school math curriculum (published by Ministry of Education, June 20, 1995) suggests some teaching points to bear in mind, so as not to make use of the system of axiom. However, it doesn't take the axiom about the space geometry as a starting point of argument, and so many textbooks can be found, in which intuitively true propositions are proved acceptable by the logical ambiguous statements. Thus, this study analyzes the contents of axiomatic geometry in high school math II textbooks and draws their problems. As an alternative improvement, 3 kinds of axiom on the space geometry and some important propositions, which are basic to proofs of proposition, will be presented here in this paper.

  • There are different categorifications of the notion of a ring such as Ann-category due to N. T. Quang, ring category due to M. M. Kapranov and V. A. Voevodsky. The main result of this paper is to prove that every axiom in the definition of a ring category, but the axiom $x_0 = y_0$, can be deduced from the axiomatics of an Ann-category.

  • Bonding Machine is new concept of semi industry. In this study, bonding machine is designed with aximatic design, then manufactured based on it. Axiomatic design offers a scientific base for design in an efficient way. Many application of the independence axiom have been pulished, however, the information axiom has been mainly applied to FR - DP problems except for few case studies.

  • The mount type HVAC control system is a type of an HVAC control system which is installed between a ceiling and ceiling boards of a room to control room temperature. Although the device is quite popular, design is conducted by a conventional way where engineering intuition and experiences are utilized. It is found that the design process is fairly inefficient and time-consuming because there are a lot of feedbacks. The axiomatic approach is used to investigate the design characteristics of the mount type HAVC control system and the Independence Axiom is utilized for the investigation. The Overall hierarchy is established up to the level of parts. It is found that the current design has many coupled and redundant aspects. The hierarchy is reorganized based on the Independence Axiom and a new design process is found. To exploit the new design process in practice, a design manual is made.
