  • We developed an automatic 3D inspection system. The system consists of two parts : one includes hardwares such as actuators, linear scales and a probe, etc. the other involves softwares for management and control of the system. Compared with existing 3D measurement systems, this system achieved automatically the inspection. This automatic inspection makes the system have some advantages to reduce a measurement time and to be easily used by operators.

  • We Propose a Path planning method to reduce the Inspection time of AOI (automatic optical inspection) machines in SMT (surface mount technology) in-line system. Inspection windows of board should be clustered to consider the FOV (field-of-view) of camera. The number of clusters is desirable to be minimized in order to reduce the overall inspection time. We newly propose a genetic algorithm to minimize the number of clusters for a given board. Comparative simulation results are presented to verify the usefulness of proposed algorithm.

  • In this paper, we describes the development of automatic inspection system for detecting the defects on photovoltaic wafer by using machine vision. Until now, The defect inspection process was manually performed by operators. So these processes caused the produce of poorly-made articles and inaccuracy results. To improve the inspection accuracy, the inspection system is not only configured, but the image processing algorithm is also developed. The inspection system includes dimensional verification and pattern matching which compares a 2-D image of an object to a pattern image the method proves to be computationally efficient and accurate for real time application and we confirmed the applicability of the proposed method though the experience in a complex environment.

A study on the automatic wafer alignment in semiconductor dicing (반도체 절단 공정의 웨이퍼 자동 정렬에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, a dicing machine with vision system was built and an algorithm for automatic alignment was developed for dual camera system. The system had a macro and a micro inspection tool. The algorithm was formulated from geometric relations. When a wafer was put on the cutting stage within certain range, it was inspected by vision system and compared with a standard pattern. The difference between the patterns was analyzed and evaluated. Then, the stage was moved by x, y, $\theta$ axes to compensate these differences. The amount of compensation was calculated from the result of the vision inspection through the automatic alignment algorithm. The stage was moved to the compensated position and was inspected by vision for checking its result again. Accuracy and validity of the algorithm was discussed from these data.

  • Automatic inspection system is required for increment of copper plate production and demand expansion. Thus 3D surface form and defect detection of copper plate calls for 3D image and GUI analysis. Limitation of 2D analysis, such as error occurrence and decision difficulty makes eye inspection automatic. Automatic inspection is able to raise accurate inspection rate and productivity efficiency elevation. In this paper defect classification is defined and inspection system is implemented. Defect analysis algorithms and GUI for 3D image analysis is developed and tested.

  • This study proposes a non-contact inspective technology based robot vision system for Faulty Inspection of welding States and Parts Shape. The maine focus is real time implementation of the machining parts' automatic inspection by the robotic moving. For this purpose, the automatic test instrument inspects the precision components designator the vision system. pattern Recognition Technologies and Precision Components for vision inspection technology and precision machining of precision parts including the status and appearance distinguish between good and bad. To perform a realization of a real-time automation integration system for the precision parts of manufacturing process, it is designed a robot vision system for the integrated system controller and verified the reliability through experiments. The main contents of this paper, the robot vision technology for noncontact inspection of precision components and machinery parts is useful technology for FA.

  • The machine vision system has been widely applied at automatic inspection field of the industries. Especially, the machine vision system shows good performance at difficult inspection field by contact method. In this paper, the automatic system of a slant method to inspect screw/bolt shape using machine vision is developed. The inspection system uses pattern matching method that search similar degree of the lucidity, the average lucidity, length and angle of inspection set up area using a circular scan and a line scan method. Also the feeding method for inspection product is the slant method, and feed rate is controlled by the ramp angle adjustment. This inspection system is composed of a feeding device, a transfer device, vision systems, a lighting device and computer, and is composed the sorting discharge system of the inferior product. The performance test carried out the feeding speed, the shape correct degree and the sorting discharge speed according to the type of screw/bolt. This sorting inspection system showed a satisfied test results in whole inspection items. Presently, this sorting inspection system is being used in the manufacturing process of screw/bolt usefully.

  • In this paper, an automatic functional inspection system EVT (Emulated Vision Tester) for LCD drive module PCB has been proposed and implemented. Typical automatic inspection system such as probing methods and vision-based systems are widely known and used, however, there exist undetectable defects due to critical timing factors which they may miss to catch from LCD equipments. Especially typical vision-based systems have inconsistency on acquisition of images so that distinction between gray scales can be difficult which results in low level of performance and reliability on the inspection results. The proposed EVT system is pure hardware solution. It directly compares pattern signals from a pattern generator to output signals from LCD drive module. It also inspects variety of analog signals such as voltage, resistance, wave forms and so forth. The EVT system not only shows high performance in terms of reliability and processing speed but reduces costs on inspection and maintenance. Also, full automation of entire production line can be realized when EVT is applied in in-line inspection processes.
