실시간 영상을 이용한 자동창고시스템의 원격 조작 및 감시 (Remote Control and Monitoring of Automatic Storage and Retrieval Systems using Real-Time Images)

  • Automated manufacturing systems are applied to shop floors as tools for increase of productivity and quality and the decrease of manufacturing lead times and industry accidents. One of the most important issue of the present day is the application of Internet. The development of Internet technologies makes manufacturing enterprises break spacial barriers between users and shop floors, and collect various field data in remote sites. In this research, an Internet-based remote control system for a small-sized automated storage and retrieval system is developed for the purpose of real-time monitoring and control of automatic production equipment. The developed system has a client-server architecture and sends real-time images of the automated storage and retrieval system to clients by an CCD camera connected to a server.

Collision Hazards Detection for Construction Workers Safety Using Equipment Sound Data

  • Construction workers experience a high rate of fatal incidents from mobile equipment in the industry. One of the major causes is the decline in the acoustic condition of workers due to the constant exposure to construction noise. Previous studies have proposed various ways in which audio sensing and machine learning techniques can be used to track equipment's movement on the construction site but not on the audibility of safety signals. This study develops a novel framework to help automate safety surveillance in the construction site. This is done by detecting the audio sound at a different signal-to-noise ratio of -10db, -5db, 0db, 5db, and 10db to notify the worker of imminent dangers of mobile equipment. The scope of this study is focused on developing a signal processing model to help improve the audible sense of mobile equipment for workers. This study includes three-phase: (a) collect audio data of construction equipment, (b) develop a novel audio-based machine learning model for automated detection of collision hazards to be integrated into intelligent hearing protection devices, and (c) conduct field experiments to investigate the system' efficiency and latency. The outcomes showed that the proposed model detects equipment correctly and can timely notify the workers of hazardous situations.

Development of IoT-based non-cleaning water quality measuring equipment

  • It takes lots of time and labor if a worker have to measure the water quality at a certain but designated time every day in an un-automated aqua farm. In addition, if the equipment is soaked in the sea water consistently, it will be contaminated by diverse floating matters and barnacles, and it often becomes mal-functional within 2~3 months. Therefore, we need to develop a system with which the sensed data could be checked in real time and operated automatically, while preventing the contamination of the sensor, a crucial component for water quality measuring equipment, as much as possible, and increasing the replacement cycle. We have developed a non-cleaning water quality measuring equipment and its software which are used in the fishery household of offshore aqua farms. By providing the workers with a mobile application which has a function of monitoring the water quality in real time, they can check the situation directly without going to the fishery household.

모델기반의 전자부품 FAB설비 생산기준정보 추정 (Model-based Estimation of Production Parameters of Electronics FAB Equipment)

  • In this paper, we propose a model-based approach to estimating production parameters of semiconductor FAB equipment. For FAB scheduling, for example, we need to know equipment's production parameters such as flow time, tact time, setup time, and down time. However, these data are not available, and they have to be estimated from material move data such as loading times and unloading times that are automatically collected in modern automated semiconductor FAB. The proposed estimation method may be regarded as a Bayes estimation method because we use additional information about the production parameters. Namely, it is assumed that the technical ranges of production parameters are known. The proposed estimation method has been applied to a LCD FAB, and found to be valid and useful.

  • A semiconductor production system has sophisticated manufacturing operations and needs high capital investment for its expensive equipment, which warrants efficient real-time flow control for wafers. In the bay, we consider material handling equipment that can handle multiple carriers of wafers. The dispatching logic first determines the transportation time of each carrier to its destination by each unit of transportation equipment and uses this information to determine the destination machine and target carrier. When there is no available buffer space at the machine tool, the logic allows carriers to stay at the buffer of a machine tool and determine the delay time, which is used to determine the destination of carriers in URL. A simulation study shows this dispatching logic performs better than the procedure currently in use to reduce the mean flow time and average WIP of wafers and increase efficiency of material handling equipment.

  • Numerous pipe lines can be found on various plant-based industrial sites. These pipelines should be periodically checked for defects. Most of these pipelines are internally inaccessible and difficult to visually inspect. Therefore, the inspection is being carried out with the help of non-contact inspection equipment such as ultrasonic flaw detection equipment. The use of ultrasonic flaw detection equipment can raise time and efficiency issues. In order to solve this problem, we will study the basic technology necessary for the development of automated inspection system equipped with ultrasonic measuring equipment and verify the validity through the fabrication of the demonstration device.

유압 디바이스 성능 검사 장비 자동화 공정 개발 (Development of Hydraulic Device Performance Test Equipment Automation Process)

  • Crawler-type hydraulic devices facilitate forward and backward driving of construction equipment by converting power into mechanical energy. The existing hydraulic device performance test process is time- and labor-intensive. This study aims to improve efficiency and productivity by automating the hydraulic device production performance test processes, which have been separately conducted so far. We also used SolidWorksⓇ, a 3D modeling program, and ANSYSⓇ, a structural analysis tool, for structural analysis and to verify the suitability of fixing pins required for connecting a hydraulic device to performance test equipment. Our results that employing an automated hydraulic device performance test process improves efficiency.

건설자동화 기계의 연구개발 단계에 따른 성능 분석 모델 개발 (Development of the Performance Analysis Model Based on Research and Development Phases for Automated Construction Equipment)

  • 국내의 경우 2000년 이후부터 건설교통부의 지원 하에 건축/토목/메카트로닉스 전문가 집단을 중심으로 경쟁력 있는 건설자동화 기계들이 개발되어 현장에 시험 적용되어 왔다. 개발완료된 자동화 기계의 성능을 분석하여 재래식 방식과 비교한 자동화 방식의 효율성을 제시하기 위한 연구가 수행되었으나 자동화 기계 연구개발 과정에서 요구되는 성능 분석을 체계적으로 수행하지 못하였다. 또한 자동화 기계 개발의 중요한 목적의 일부인 안전성 및 품질 향상 정도에 대해서 정성적으로만 기술함으로써 자동화 기계 개발의 종합적 가치 분석이 수행되지 못한 점은 문제점으로 지적되어 왔다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 자동화 기계 연구개발 단계를 타당성 분석 단계/제작 단계/실용화 및 마케팅 단계로 구분하고 각 단계에서 요구되는 건설자동화 기계의 성능 분석을 효율적으로 수행할 수 있도록 성능 분석 절차 및 방법론의 제시를 통해 건설자동화 기계의 종합적 성능 분석 모델 및 시스템을 개발하였다. 본 연구를 통해 제안된 성능 분석 모델 및 시스템의 활용을 통해 건설자동화 기계 개발 타당성 분석 및 현장의 요구사항을 만족시키는 우수한 성능을 지닌 자동화 기계를 개발할 수 있으며, 개발된 자동화 기계의 마케팅 전략을 효과적으로 수립할 수 있도록 함으로써 건설자동화 기계의 확대 보급 및 실용화에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 ATM 통신프로토콜을 위한 자동시험시스템인 ACTS(ATM Conformance Test System)의 개발과 적용을 소개한다. ACTS는 ITU-T 또는 ATM Forum의 ATM 사용자-망 접속표준을 준용하는 ATM 단말과 망장비의 프로토콜적합성을 확인하는데 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 ACTS 개발에 사용된 방법을 소개한 뒤, ACTS를 실제 ATM 단말과 장비에 적용한 사례들을 소개한다. ACTS의 적용을 통하여 시험대상 장비들이 지닌 프로토콜구현상의 문제점을 파악하였고, 문제에 대한 원인분석을 수행하였다. 또한 이러한 문제점들이 상호운용에 미치는 장애를 예측함으로써, ACTS를 상호운용하는 ATM 장비를 확보하기 위한 유용한 도구로 사용할 수 있음을 보인다.Abstract This paper presents development and application of ACTS(ATM Conformance Test System), an automated test system for ATM protocols. ACTS is a test system that checks conformance of ATM terminal and network equipment implementing either ITU-T or ATM Forum user-network interface. This paper, after presenting the methodology and process used for developing ACTS, conducts case studies of its applications to real ATM equipment. By applying ACTS, we were able to detect numerous problems in protocol implementations of ATM equipment and analyse causes of the problems, thereby demonstrating the efficacy of ACTS as an efficient automated testing tool. Furthermore, by predicting the potential effects of the problems on interoperability, we show how ACTS can be used as a useful tool for ensuring interoperable ATM equipment.

컨테이너터미널 자동화 필요성에 대한 관련 주체별 인식차이 연구 (A Study on the Perception Difference of the Subjects about Necessity of Automated Container Terminal)

  • 해운 시황이 악화함에 따라 해운선사는 컨테이너선의 대형화를 촉진함으로써 규모의 경제 를 실현하고자 한다. 이에 컨테이너터미널 운영사는 신속한 서비스를 제공하며 많은 물동량을 유치하고자 자동화 장비와 시스템 도입을 통하여 허브항만으로 자리 잡고자 한다. 이처럼 선진 컨테이너터미널은 자동화 도입과 개발의 증가로 생산성과 효율성을 향상하며 경쟁력을 강화하고 있지만, 국내는 반자동화에 머물러있는 실정이다. 따라서 관련 주체별을 대상으로 설문 조사를 통한 인식 차이 분석을 위하여 SPSS 23.0 프로그램을 활용하여 향후 컨테이너터미널 자동화의 원활한 도입을 위한 이해관계자 간의 인식을 확인하고자 한다.
