An Exploration on the Creative Disposition, Creative Thinking Power, Multiple Intelligences and Morality of Gifted Children (유소년영재의 창의적 성향.창의적사고력.다중지능.도덕성에 관한 탐색)

  • Gifted children cultivate their many talents through experience. For the purpose of revealing the talents or abilities of gifted children, it is necessary to provide them with various types of environment for their exploration from the early stage of their school age. In addition, knowing their concern, aptitude and interest from the early stage of their school age will be much helpful for them to grow, advance and search for their future career path. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to examine the definitional and cognitive characteristics of gifted children through tests on the creative disposition, creative thinking power, multiple intelligences and morality of gifted children at the early stage of their school age in order to provide basic information on the gifted children studies. Accordingly, 90 gifted children were selected as the participants of this study through observation and recommendation. The result showed much difference between the second grade and the third grade in their creative disposition, creative thinking power, multiple intelligences and morality according to school year. As for the difference according to gender, the second grade female students showed meaningful differences in the sub-domain of creative disposition, multiple intelligences and morality and the third grade showed no differences. Such study result shows that students in upper school year clearly have their own sense of purpose.

Professional Job Perception, Job Stress and Job Satisfaction of Westerm Doctors and Oriental Doctors Practicing at Local Clinic (개원의사와 개원한의사의 전문직업성, 직무스트레스 및 직업만족도)

  • Objectives : This study was conducted in order to investigate the professionalism, job stress and job satisfaction in western and oriental doctors in Korea. Methods : The authors conducted a survey using a self-administered questionnaire, conducted between August and September, 2001. The study subjects were 457 western doctors and 161 oriental doctors practicing at local clinics in Daegu City. Results : For the professionalism scale, the score for belief in service to the public of western doctors was significantly higher than that of oriental doctors (p<0.05) whereas the scores for sense of calling to the field and feeling of autonomy were higher in oriental doctors (p<0.01). For the job stress scale, the scores for work factor, and clinical responsibility/decision factor of western doctors were significantly higher than those of oriental doctors (p<0.01). Of the western doctors, 59.7% expressed satisfaction with their job as a doctor, 69.5% responded that the role of a doctor was appropriate to their aptitude, and 61.8% answered that they wouldn't consider other kinds of job even if offered. In case of oriental doctors, these responses were 83.1%, 82.5%, and 82.3%, respectively. Conclusions : The job stress scores of western doctors were higher than those of oriental doctors, but the job satisfaction was lower. The reasons for the above results are not clear. Further studies are required to understand the characteristics of job stress and job satisfaction in doctors.

Research on the change of consciousness of the gifted students in science (과학 영재의 진로의식 변화 연구(1996년 - 2003년))

  • The purpose of this study is to look into Various educational supports for the gifted students in science to decide proper career planning through Research of Career Consciousness of the Gifted Students in Science. The subject of this study is new students entered into KAIST from the year of 1996 to 2003. They are approximately 500 students yearly and 3,613 totally and more than 90% of students have answered. The Questions are largely 3 items. One is 5 Q's of entering universities, second is 2 Q's of life plans in the university and the last is 2 Q's of career plans after graduation. As a result, the gifted students in science tend to find out and develop their interest and aptitude early and decide their future much earlier than other students. Nevertheless the gifted students in science worry about their future a lot as well. However they ask their problems to friends, seniors, and parents rather than teachers, professional consultants in general it could say no sufficient systematic guidance and consulting available for them. So it does require that some subjects such as guidance for career planning should be included in university curriculum and furthermore not only schooling but also the systematic structure of persistent consulting about gifted student's general life should be planned as well.

A Study on the Factors of Job Satisfaction of the Dietitians Working in Hospitals (병원영양사의 직무만족요인에 대한 조사연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine and analyze the degrees and the influence factors of job satisfaction of dietitians working in hospitals in relation to performance of duty in their works and to provide effective management of hospital dietitians for high quality health and food service in hospital. The questionaire was prepared with reference to the previous studies on job satisfaction of dietitians working in hospitals throughout the nation. 201 dietitians in the country were surveyed. The period of research was from January 20 to February 28, 1995. The results are as follows. 1) In regard to the degree of job satisfaction of hospital dietitians, they showed the highest degree of job satisfaction in the relationships with fellow dietitians followed by worth and self-confidence, aptitude and interests, relationships with cooks, job stability, degree of recognition of the dietitians competence, supervision of the superiors, degree of application of professional knowledge, work load, wage level, degree of recognition of the importance of duty, cooperative relationships with load, wage level, degree of recognition of the importance of duty, cooperative relationships with doctors, degree of performance of clinical work, the number of dietitians, the prromotion system, and welfare system in that order. On the other hand, they showed the highest dissatisfaction with food service facilities. 2) The influence factors on job satisfaction are as follows. (1) Wage factor : Shorter weekday working hours and higher bonuses make greaster job satisfaction (R2=0.3115). (2) Working condition factor : Larger number of monthly holidays(R2=0.5142), shorter weekday working hours(R2=0.1077), longer previous food service experience and computer utilization (R2=0.1432) make greater job satisfaction. (3) Welfare factor : Welfare system (R2=0.4132) and promotion system (R2=0.1624) have to do with computer utilization. Job stability has to do with marital status and computer utilization (R2=0.1165). consequently, those married dietitians who use computers show higher job satisfaction. (4) Human relationship factor : Smaller mumber of patients receiving food makes greater job satisfaction (R2=0.1334). (5) Superivision factor : Shorter weekday working hours and larger number of monthly holidays make greater job satisfaction (R2=0.1709). (6) Achievement factor : Marriage, larger number of dietitians(R2=9.2293), age, larger number of monthly holiday, higher monthly wages and computer utiliazation (R2=0.1088) make greater job satisfaction. (7) Speciality factor : Marriage, longer current hospital tenure, higher position and working in seoul(R2=0.1142) make higher job satisfaction. (8) Job inclination factor : working in general hospitals rather than in oriental hispitals, working in seoul(R2=0.1776) and better bonuses(R2=0.1078)make greater job satisfaction. As a result, the following is suggested for the job satisfaction of hospital dietitions on the basis of this study : hospital dietitians can achieve miximum job satisfaction through smooth relationships with coworkers, and the responsible managers should improve welfare and working conditions for the job satisfaction of hospital dietitians.

The Relationship Among Parents' Rearing Attitude, Covert Narcissism, and School Adjustment of High School Students (고등학생이 지각한 부모양육태도, 내현적 자기애가 학교생활적응에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of the parents' rearing attitude perceived by high school students and students' covert narcissism on the adjustment of high school students. For that, research data are collected from 580 high school students in Busan. 524 students' data are analyzed through SPSS Ver. 21.0 to examine correlations and influences of parents rearing attitude, students' covert narcissism and adjustment ability to schools. The results obtained in this study are as follows: First, the finding shows that the adjustment of high school students has a significant static corelation with parents' rearing attitude which is perceived by students. Second, affective attitude of parents' rearing attitude, has the strongest influence on students compliance in school. In addition, goal-oriented and rational attitude of parents has an impact on students' scholastic aptitude and academic achievement. Third, students' goal-instability of life which is one element of students' covert narcissism has negative effect on overall students' school life. Thus, these results suggest that for a better adjustment of high school students, various parent education training and development of programs that can help students set up goals are needed. It also highlights the importance of counseling.

Study on activities of some occupational health nurses in Kyungnam area (경남지역 일부 산업간호사의 업무수행에 관한 연구)

  • Authors purposed to observe activities of occupational health nurses and it's related factors, and to suggest the way that induct better occupational health nurses' activities with questionaire to 87 occupational health nurses who individually work as health manager in the plant. The questionaire included type of plant and number of workers, general characteristics, work conditions, activities, etc. Major findings are as follows. 1. 82.8% of occupational health nurses were third decade. 93.1% graduated junior college or college. And 82.8% were not married. 2. General work conditions: 40.2% were belonged to safety-health section, 98.85% were mere clerks. 60.9% worked less than weekly 44 hours, and an annual salary of 50.6 % was between 10 million and 14 million won. 3. Work condition related to health manager work: there was separated health care room in 94.3%, working period as health manager(occupational health nurse) was less than 5 years in 70.1%, 49.4% had the out-of-health manager work. In 87.4%, occupational physician was appointed, only 6.9% of them were full time, 52.9% of them worked little in the plants. The problems related to workers' health were discussed with industrial nurses in 88.5%. 4. Attitude for their work: 88.5% were thought that their work is important for workers' health care, 57.5% satisfied to work as health manager. In 51.7%, motive to being industrial nurse were the appropriate aptitude. 5. Activities: General medical care in 100% were carried out, in 97.7% works related to general health examination, in 100% works related to special health examination were carried. But works related to use of protective apparatus were carried out in 20.8%. 6. Factors related to level of activities: In cases who solved the health related problems by themselves, the level of activites was significantly higher than in others. In cases there were full time occupational physician, the level of activities was significantly lower. 7. Occupational health nurse's needs: 100% wanted regular education, 89.7% wanted the qualifying examination. As the results, author suggests that the right of self-control is given to occupational health nurses and the work of occupational physician is clearly defined for the induction of the better activities of occupational health nurses.

  • As the necessity of humanistic education has recently been socially emphasized, aptitude and character test has been conducted in the stage of training instructors to focus on making them equipped with proper ability of humanistic education. Especially, considering characteristics of students in specialized high schools with stronger negative concept of ego along with higher proportion of students looking for job in early ages compared to regular high schools, instructors in specialized high schools need to pay more attention on humanistic education of students compared to those in regular high schools. Therefore, this study has developed social emotion learning (SEL) of preliminary teachers in specialized high schools and analyzed the influence of developed programs on characters in teaching positions of preliminary instructors in specialized high schools. In this study, ADDIE model has been used developing SEL programs, and developed programs were comprised of total six sessions. Social emotion learning has been performed on 27 preliminary teachers in experiment group, and regular academic education courses were given on 30 preliminary teachers in control group. At this time, as for class contents, 'self-recognition' has been dealt with in the first and second sessions followed by 'self-management' in the second and third sessions, 'adjustment in relationship' in the fourth session, 'responsible decision making' in the fifth session, and 'personal relationship' in the sixth session. Classes have been conducted for 90 minutes in average. Since intentional sampling method has been used in this study, difference of pre-scores between groups might influence on the difference on post-scores. Therefore, ANCOVA that adjusted the pre-scores to be consistent has been utilized. As a result, there was a significant difference on the post-scores in characters in teaching positions between experiment group and control group.

The Influence of Career Self-Efficacy on Risk Taking Level in University Students (대학생의 진로자기효능감이 위험감수수준에 미치는 영향)

  • In order to analyze the influence of career self-efficacy on risk taking level in university students, career self-efficacy which becomes the basis of active occupational exploration was classified into four items including self evaluation, goal setting, occupational information and problem solving. Risk taking level was divided into three items of occupational selection, monetary management and human relation. 450 surveys were distributed to four-year university students in Seoul, capital area and rural area for three weeks from November 26 until December 17, 2011, among which 402 surveys were accepted as effective study subjects. Among items of career self-efficacy, most significant influence on self evaluation was shown in group with high risk taking level in monetary management, and problem solving had most significant influence in groups with high risk taking level in occupational selection and human relation. As a result, occupational information was found to have negative (-) influence on all items of risk taking level, with increasing degree of influence on occupational information for subjects showing lower degree of risk taking level. This study provides detailed analysis on individual's work task called risk taking level based on different occupational types, offering new verification of career self-efficacy as the most fundamental element of occupational exploration to university students looking for employment.

A Study on the Relationships between Occupational Therapists' Burn-out, Professional Self-concept, and Self-efficacy (작업치료사의 소진과 전문직 자아개념 및 자기효능감 간의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the degree of occupational therapists' burn-out, professional self-concept, and self-efficacy and also their socio-demographic characteristics and to verify the effects of professional self-concept and self-efficacy on their burn-out. The subjects of this survey were 138 occupational therapists who perform occupational therapy. From October 13th till November 2nd, 2011, a structuralized questionnaire was used to collect data. The results of this study were follows: First, the occupational therapists' mean score of burn-out was 2.12(range: 0-6), and the mean score of professional self-concept and self-efficacy were 2.64(range: 1-4) and 3.56(range: 1-5). Second, according to the general characteristics of the occupational therapists, burn-out showed significant difference by treatment hours per day, duty to work on Saturdays, aptitude and religion. Third, professional self-concept had positive correlation with self-efficacy. And professional self-concept and self-efficacy showed negative correlation with burn-out. Fourth, chief variables affecting occupational therapists' burn-out were professional self-concept and religion. Therefore it is necessary to reduce occupational therapists' burn-out and improve the services of their occupational therapy qualitatively by developing programs to enhance their professional self-concept.

An Empirical Correlation Study Between Sasang Constitutions and Job Characteristic (사상체질과 작업특성간의 실증적 상관관계 연구)

  • We detect lots of problems on the manufacturing spot because of working results done without considering the aptitude and inherited temper(constitution, blood type, male and female) of the worker, and they lead to results not only the occupational disease and the cause of industrial accidents but also quality deterioration and productivity reduction in point of view of manufacturing management. For the purpose of solving these problems, this study is perfomed by grasping the correlation sasang constitutions and job characteristic of small & medium enterprises. We classify sasang constitutions to four types : so-yang-in type, tae-yang-in type, tae-em-in type, so-em-in type by the utilization of QSCC II and the doctor aid of oriental medicine, and also survey differences of classified sasang constitutions with previous studies. This study tries to identify significant features between major jobs resulting from sasang constitution types in a specific small & medium enterprise producing agricultural machinery(a tractor, a combine, etc). The results of this case study indicate that sasang constitution types influences job types. Under the working conditions that virtual reality scene photographed by video camera are running, also the effects of brain function of each worker using Electroencephalograms(EEGs) are investigated. Electroencephalograms(EEGs) provide much information about the brain function, such as relaxation, concentration, various thoughts and so on. Previous studies reported the appearance of ${\theta}$ waves and an increase in the ${\alpha}$ waves during psychologically satisfaction conditions. An statistical analysis of experiments conducted shows the various changes of brain waves(${\alpha},{\beta},{\theta},{\delta}$ waves). By means of these study results, we can identify that sasang constitutions should be applied to contribute much to quality advancement and productivity improvement through a comparative study on the job characteristic.
