삼채잎 향기 성분 분석과 항산화 및 항염 효과 연구 (Analysis of Aroma Components by Part of Allium Hookeri and Research on Antioxidant and Anti-inflammatory)

  • 삼채는 Allium 속 식물로써, 항산화, 항염 및 항균 등에 대한 선행연구가 실시되어왔지만, 정유 추출로써의 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 그에 본 연구는 삼채 잎, 뿌리, 통 부위에 대한 정유 추출에 따른 GC-MSD, 삼채잎의 세포독성, 항산화, 항염을 확인하여 화장품 소재로서의 가능성을 확인하였다. 삼채잎, 뿌리, 통부위의 정유추출 수율은 0.01, 0.02, 0.01%로 확인되었고, GC-MSD 향기성분을 분석한 결과 삼채잎 정유의 주요 성분은 Diallyl trisulfide(34.02%)와 Methyl allyl trisulfide(25.14%)으로 나타났다. 세포독성이 확인되지 않은 10%의 농도에서 NO 생성 39.69%억제, DPPH 라디칼 소거활성 88.26%를 보였다. 이를 통하여 삼채 잎 정유는 화장품 및 식품 산업분야에서 항산화 및 항염 효능이 있는 원료로서 유용하게 활용 가능성을 제시한다.

Optimization of the Extraction Parameters of Gardenia (Gardenia jasminoides Ellis) Fruits for the Maximum Antioxidant Capacity

  • Response surface methodology (RSM) was used for the optimization of antioxidant capacity in gardenia extracts. The antioxidant capacities of gardenia fruit extracts were investigated by ferric reducing ability (FRA) and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity (RSA) assays. The optimum extraction parameters for the strongest antioxidant capacity were the ethanol concentration (EtOH) of 48.9%, extraction temperature of $72.9^{\circ}C$, and extraction time of 29.9 min. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the quadratics of EtOH and extraction temperature had highly significant effect on the antioxidant capacity (p<0.001). The antioxidant capacity was correlated with contents of bioactive components [crocin, geniposide, and total phenolic (TP) compounds] in gardenia extracts and mainly attributed to the content of the TP compounds.

Antioxidative Characteristics of Extracts from Aromatic Herb Elsholtzia splendens

  • We investigated the antioxidant activity of ethanol extracts obtained from the flowers of Elsholtzia splendens on Chinese hamster ovary CHO-K1 cells. When cells were treated with E. splendens extracts (ESEs), low concentrations (<12.5 ug/mL) of stimulated cell proliferation via radical generation. Relative mRNA expression of Cu/Zn-superoxide dismutase (SOD) and Mn-SOD in cells exposed to ESEs (1-20 ug/mL) was significantly induced in a dose-dependent manner (p<0.05). In the case of catalase, ESEs had opposing effects; that is, a low-level treatment caused a decrease, and a high-level treatment induced elevated levels (p<0.05). The results demonstrated that components of ESEs exhibit potential antioxidant properties. Also, further studies are required to clarify the active components of Elsholtzia splendens extracts responsible for such biological activities.

밥과 죽 조리에 따른 일부 곡류의 기능성 성분 및 항산화 활성 변화 (Changes in Content of Functional Components and Antioxidant Activity in Cooked Rice and Porridge of Selected Grains)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in the content of functional components and the antioxidant activity of cooked rice and porridge composed of selected grains. The results of the study showed that brown rice and oat contained considerable amounts of γ-oryzanol (78.099~238.566 mg/100 g). However, cooked rice showed a decreased content of the same. The highest content of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) was observed in brown rice from Samgwang. The contents of biotin in all samples also decreased in cooked rice compared to raw cereal grains. The highest content of total polyphenols and flavonoids were observed in Heukjinmi rice, and the highest radical scavenging activity was also found in this variety. The cooking process led to a decrease in the content of functional components including γ-oryzanol, GABA, biotin, polyphenols, and flavonoids versus the corresponding raw cereal grains. These results may be useful in the development and application of home meal replacements using cereal grains.

음양곽 추출물 중의 항산화성분의 분리 및 성질 (Isolation and Characterization of Antioxidant Components in Epimedium koreanum NAKAI extract)

  • 음양곽(Epimedium koreanum N.)의 methanol 추출물을 각종 식용유지에 첨가하여 $75^{\circ}C$에서 저장하면서 과산화물가의 변화를 측정하므로서 항산화성을 검토하였던 바 유지의 종류에 따라 효력에 차이를 나타내었고 lard와 corn oil에 대한 항산화 효과가 인정되었으며, 특히 lard에 대하여는 항산화 효과가 켰으며 첨가농도에 따라 효과가 증대되었다. 음양곽 추출물을 $180^{\circ}C$에서 120분간 가열하였을 때에도 66% 이상의 항산화성이 잔존하였으나 대두유에 첨가하여 광산화에 미치는 영향을 검토한 결과 자외선 조사에 의하여 급격히 산화가 촉진되었다. 음양곽 methanol 추출물 중의 유효 항산화 성분은 tocopherol류와 flavonoid류로 추정되었으며 ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\gamma}$ and ${\delta}-tocopherol$의 함량은 각각 21.61, 1.48, 5.50 및 3.75 mg%이었다.

Multivariate statistical analysis of the comparative antioxidant activity of the total phenolics and tannins in the water and ethanol extracts of dried goji berry (Lycium chinense) fruits

  • Antioxidant activity in water and ethanol extracts of dried Lycium chinense fruit, as a result of the total phenolic and tannin content, was measured using a number of chemical and biochemical assays for radical scavenging and inhibition of lipid peroxidation, with the analysis being extended by applying a bootstrapping statistical method. Previous statistical analyses mostly provided linear correlation and regression analyses between antioxidant activity and increasing concentrations of phenolics and tannins in a concentration-dependent mode. The present study showed that multiple component or multivariate analysis by applying multiple regression analysis or regression planes proved more informative than linear regression analysis of the relationship between the concentration of individual components and antioxidant activity. In this paper, we represented the multivariate analysis of antioxidant activities of both phenolic and tannin contents combined in the water and ethanol extracts, which revealed the hidden observations that were not evident from linear statistical analysis.

식물정유 7종의 항산화능 분석 및 Candida albicans 생장 억제 정유의 생리활성 성분 구명 (Antioxidant Properties of 7 Domestic Essential Oils and Identification of Physiologically Active Components of Essential Oils against Candida albicans)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 자생식물 7종의 정유 중 우수한 항산화 효과가 있는 온주밀감, 육계나무 정유 2종을 선별하였고, 피부염을 유발하는 Candida albicans에 대한 항미생물 활성 평가를 통해 식물정유의 항미생물 활성성분을 구명하고자 하였다. 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 라디칼 소거활성 측정 결과 SC50값이 온주밀감 정유 0.010 mg/mL, 육계나무 정유 0.09 mg/mL을 나타냈으며, 2,2'-azinobis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) 라디칼 소거활성 측정 결과 온주밀감 정유 0.09 mg/mL, 육계나무 정유 0.06 mg/mL로 높은 항산화 활성을 나타냈다. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration는 육계나무 정유 1.25 mg/mL, 온주밀감 정유 5 mg/mL 값으로 육계나무 정유에서 뛰어난 항미생물 활성이 나타났다. Thin layer chromatography (TLC) bioassay를 통해 2종 정유의 성분 분획에 따른 C. albicans에 대한 항미생물 활성을 평가하였고, preparative TLC (prep. TLC)를 통해 활성분획을 획득하고, 동일 Rf값을 가지는 성분들에 대해서 GC/MS 분석을 수행하여 항미생물 활성성분을 구명하였다. 그 결과 항산화 및 항미생물 활성을 나타내는 주성분은 각각 육계나무 정유의 경우 cinnamyl acetate, eucalyptol, linalool, citral 온주밀감 정유의 경우 linalool이었다. 2종 정유에 공통적으로 항산화 및 항미생물 활성을 나타낸 분획부 성분분석 결과 linalool은 항산화, cinnamyl acetate, eucalyptol, citral, geranyl acetate은 항산화와 항미생물 능력이 있다고 사료된다.

Bioavailability and Efficiency of Ten Catechins as an Antioxidant

  • Tea is a pleasant, popular and safe beverage in the world. During the past decade, epidemiological studies have shown that tea catechins intake is associated with lower risk of cardiovascular disease. Tea provides a dietary source of health-promoting components to help humans reduce a wide variety of cancer risks and chronic diseases. The antioxidative activity of tea-derived catchins has been extensively studied. The antioxidant effect is a synergistic action between catechins e.g. EGCG, EGC, ECG, EC, pheophytins a and b, and other components in tea leaves, which aye more bioavailable for human body. Green tea has a Higher content of catechins than other kinds of tea. Green tea extract with hot water has high potential and more efficiency to reduce cancer risk than any other tea products or pure EGCG. Protein, iyon, and other food components may interfere with the bioavailability of ten catechins. Interaction of catechins with drug affects the cancer-preventive activity of some cancer-fighting medication. Further studies are required to determine the bioavailability of tea catechins and cancer-preventive functionality.

전력케이블 절연층용 원재료의 특성비교 (Characteristic Comparison of Raw Materials Used for Power Cable Insulation)

  • Chemical structure and electrical properties such as water treeing and space charge accumulation of various raw materials(XLPE) used for power cable insulation were investigated. It was found that chemical structure was changed after crosslinking reaction and every materials have different amounts of DCP and antioxidant. Electrical properties were also changed after extraction using $CHCl_3$ and xylene. Water tree length was smaller with additives such as DCP and antioxidant and bigger with low molecular weight components of polyethylene than that of extracted samples. Heterocharge was changed into homocharge after extraction. This shows that additives and low molecular weight components of polyethylene cause the heterocharge.

韓國人蔘의 抗酸化 活性 成分에 관한 硏究(IV) 抗酸化 活性 成分의 抗疲勞 效果 (Studies on the Antioxidant Components of Korean Ginseng (IV) Antifatigue Active Components)

  • Active principles for the anti-fatigue activity of Panax ginseng were studied in mice using the swimming performance method. Ginseng water extract maximized the prolongation of swimming time 18 hours after administration. The potencies of anti-fatigue activities were found as in the order of ether soluble fraction and butanol soluble fraction as those of antioxidant activities previously determined. The anti-oxidant components, maltol, salicylic acid and vanillic acid isolated from the ether soluble fraction of Panax ginseng strongly exhibited the antifatigue activities, where as highly purified crystalline ginsenoside $4Rb_1$, Re and $4Rg_1$ did not.
