Wave-current interaction due to strong ambient currents causes to alter wave properties such as wave height, wave profile and wave spectrum. In this study we first examined the SWAN model's applicability by comparing with an analytical solution of Suh et al. (1994) for wave-current interaction in finite water-depth. Numerical experiments using SWAN model have been conducted for Garolim Bay to estimate the design waveheights influenced by strong tidal currents. For the design wave periods of 8~10 sec, the design wave height of 3 m in NNW direction was increased by up to 40% when the incident waves encounter the opposing currents of 1.4 m/s while the wave height was reduced by 26% due to the following currents of 1.1 m at the bay mouth. This result indicates that the effect of wave-current interaction must be included to determine the design wave height if there exists a strong current.

Analytic methods for Cr(VI) level in industrial hygienic field were suggested by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health(NIOSH method 7600, 7604). There were growing needs for measurement of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) levels simultaneously. Two analytical methods were suggested to determine Cr(III) and Cr(VI) levels simultaneously. The one is method by using reversed phase high peformance liquid chromatography(HPLC) and the other is by using ion exchange HPLC. The purpose of this work was to evaluate the usefulness of these two analytic methods. For the difference of ionic charges of Cr(III)-ethylendiamine tetraacetic acid(EDTA) chelate and $CrO_4{^-2}$, we could detect them simultaneously by ion exchange HPLC. Also, we attempted to determine the levels of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) chelated with sodium diethyldithiocarbamate(NaDDTC) by using reversed phase HPLC. The confirmation of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) were checked by fraction collector and nameless atomic absorption spectrometer. The optimal conditions for the formation of Cr(III)-EDTA chelate were two hours incubation period with pH 5. Cr(III)-EDTA and Cr(VI) in EDTA solution were successfully separated by anion exchange column using $Na_2CO_3/NaOH$ mixture as mobile phase. Peaks of Cr(III)-EDTA and Cr(VI) in EDTA were identified at 5 minutes and 7 minutes of retention time respectively by the ion exchange HPLC. The formation of Cr(III)-NaDDTC and Cr(VI)-NaDDTC chelates were twelve hours incubation period. Cr(III)-NaDDTC and Cr(VI)-NaDDTC chelates were separated by reversed phase column using methanol and water mixture as mobile phase. Peaks of Cr(VI)NaDDTC and Cr(III)-NaDDTC chelates were identified at 13 minutes and 26 minutes of retention time respectively by the reversed phase HPLC. Due to reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III), it seems to be not suitable for simultaneous determination of Cr(III)-NaDDTC and Cr(VI)-NaDDTC chelates by reversed phase HPLS. Simultaneos determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) by ion exchange HPLC was more accurate and simple method.

The double gate(DG) MOSFET is a promising candidate to further extend the CMOS scaling and provide better control of short channel effect(SCE). DGMOSFETs, having ultra thin undoped Si channel for SCEs control, ale being validated for sub-20nm scaling. A novel analytical transport model for the subthreshold mode of DGMOSFETs is proposed in this paper. The model enables analysis of short channel effect such as the subthreshold swing(SS), the threshold voltage roil-off$({\Delta}V_{th})$ and the drain induced barrier lowering(DIBL). The proposed model includes the effects of thermionic emission and quantum tunneling of carriers through the source-drain barrier. An approximative solution of the 2D Poisson equation is used for the distribution of electric potential, and Wentzel-Kramers-Brillouin approximation is used for the tunneling probability. The new model is used to investigate the subthreshold characteristics of a double gate MOSFET having the gate length in the nanometer range $(5-20{\sim}nm)$ with ultra thin gate oxide and channel thickness. The model is verified by comparing the subthreshold swing and the threshold voltage roll-off with 2D numerical simulations. The proposed model is used to design contours for gate length, channel thickness, and gate oxide thickness.

We have studied the damage mechanism of a metallic thin plate by the highly energetic fragments generated from high explosive(HE) warhead. The penetration process has presumed that the velocity of a fragment is in the range of 350 m/s to 3353 m/s, the thickness of Aluminum 2024 target plate is in the range of 1 mm~6.3 mm thick. The mass of fragment with hemisphere nose shape is in the range of 0.32 g to 16 g. The analytical solution for penetration process has been derived by using the report of the project THOR. The results of analysis implied that the closed forms by an exponentially decay function well fit the change of the ballistic limit velocity, loss velocity and loss mass of fragment as the mass of fragment and the thickness of target plate increase.

Lean concept is management philosophy that defines a customer's value and eliminates wasteful and impeditive factors. Management philosophy of Lean in the construction industry is referred to as "Lean Construction". Now this concept has expanded to achieve effective productivity during the design phase. Currently the norm of the domestic design process has been Point-based Design(PBD). It involves selecting a single structurally-feasible design option early and then refining that single design as more information becomes available throughout the design process. This single design is then re-worked until a solution is found that is feasible for all parties. On the contrary, Set-based Design(SBD) is based on lean processes to eliminate waste and improve project productivity. It focuses on keeping the design space as open as long as possible, to allow "subdesign" to advance and not labeling them as secondary in importance. Preserving the maximum number of feasible designs as long as possible reduces the likelihood that rework will be necessary and allows all project participants to utilize their unique expertise to make the project successful. This study proposes that the design methodology of minimizing waste and increasing productivity through SBD of AHP, one of the decision making process so as to compare PBD with SBD and tries to find decision making process and then suggest that application methodology through performs case study of SBD process.

The Korean performing arts has been facing stagnation due to oversupply, lack of effective distribution system, and insufficient business models. In order to overcome these difficulties, it is necessary to improve the efficiency and accuracy of marketing by using more objective market data, and to secure audience development and loyalty. This study considers the viewpoint that 'Big Data' could provide more general and accurate statistics and could ultimately promote tailoring services for performances. We examine the first case of Big Data analysis conducted by a credit card company as well as Big Data's characteristics, analytical techniques, and the theoretical background of performing arts consumer analysis. The purpose of this study is to identify the meaning and limitations of the analysis case on performing arts by Big Data and to overcome these limitations. As a result of the case study, incompleteness of credit card data for performance buyers, limits of verification of existing theory, low utilization, consumer propensity and limit of analysis of purchase driver were derived. In addition, as a solution to overcome these problems, it is possible to identify genre and performances, and to collect qualitative information, such as prospectors information, that can identify trends and purchase factors.combination with surveys, and purchase motives through mashups with social data. This research is ultimately the starting point of how the study of performing arts consumers should be done in the Big Data era and what changes should be sought. Based on our research results, we expect more concrete qualitative analysis cases for the development of audiences, and continue developing solutions for Big Data analysis and processing that accurately represent the performing arts market.

In offshore floating structures, the viscous mean drift force due to drag is considered a design part that has not been considered until recently. In this paper, an analytical solution for the viscous mean drift forces on a floating vertical cylinder considering the waves and currents was obtained. The area was considered by dividing it into a splash zone above the free surface and a submerged zone below the free surface. In the case of waves, only the splash zone was considered; in the case of waves and currents, equations were obtained in both the splash zone and the submerged zone. The RAO results of previous studies were used to compare the calculated results with the drift forces acting on the fixed cylinder. Except for the case in only waves in the splash zone, the viscous mean drift force acting on the floating cylinder was larger than the drift force acting on the relatively fixed cylinder in most frequencies. In particular, the increase was greater when the currents were considered to be more important. Therefore, these results provide the inference for the viscous drift force due to drag in the design of floating offshore structures.
The study is a comparative and analytical study which comprises of the analysis of the rules of the buyer's right to withhold performance where the seller delivers defective goods or documents of three legal systems; the CISG, English law and Korean law. The purposes underlying this study are twofold. The first is to clarify the current position as to the right of withholding performance in the event of the seller's tender of defective goods or documents in Korean law, CISG and English law so that it may assist the parties in drafting the buyer's right to withhold performance in their own contract. The second is to compare the rules of one jurisdiction with those of other jurisdictions and to evaluate the rules in light of the practical functions and benefits of the right to withhold performance and the discipline of comparative law the basic question of which is whether a solution from one jurisdiction may facilitate the systematic development and reform of another jurisdiction. It shows that each jurisdiction does not have any provision or case law specifically dealing with the buyer's right to withhold performance where the seller delivers the goods which are defective in terms of quality or quantity. The absence of such provision or case in each jurisdiction has resulted in either disputes or uncertainty. However, the study executed in light of the primary functions and benefits of the right in practice and the discipline of comparative law reveals that, first, the view in English law which is against recognizing the right may not be justified when one considers the practical importance of having the right and the position taken by the CISG as a well developed and modernized law, second, the view in Korean law which argues that the principle of specific goods dogma on which it is based is extended even to substitutable or repairable goods cannot be also justified on the ground of one's ordinary expectation and the position under the CISG and English law which imposes a contractual duty to deliver non-defective goods on the seller insofar as the buyer's payment is deemed to be made in exchange for the seller's delivery of non-defective goods and they are substitutable or repairable. Regarding the right to withhold performance in the event of the seller's tender of defective documents, the study shows that the relatively detailed rules in English law may be utilized as a guideline to fill the gap in the CISG and Korean law in terms of the practicability and appropriateness to govern documentary sales. Furthermore, it is found that the position in English law which confers on the buyer the right to withhold performance for a trivial defect in documents may be unreasonable in terms of one's need to enable justice to be done in individual cases.

It is essential to comprehend coupled hydro-mechanical behavior to utilize subsurface for the recent demand for underground space usage. In this study, we developed a new simulator for numerical simulation as a tool for researching to consider the various domestic field and subsurface conditions. To develop the new module, we combined OpenGeoSys, one of the scientific software package that handles fluid mechanics (H), thermodynamics (T), and rock and soil mechanics (M) in the subsurface with FLAC3D, one of the commercial software for geotechnical engineering problems reinforced. In this simulator development, we design OpenGeoSys as a master and FLAC3D as a slave via a file-based sequential coupling. We have chosen Terzaghi's consolidation problem related to single-phase fluid flow at a saturated condition as a benchmark model to verify the proposed module. The comparative results between the analytical solution and numerical analysis showed a good agreement.

Modern solid-state gyroscopes (HRG) with hemispherical resonators from high-purity quartz glass and special surface superfinishing and ultrathin gold coating become the best instruments for precise-grade inertial reference units (IRU) targeting long-term space missions. Designing of these sensors could be a notable contribution into development of Korea as a space nation. In participial, 40mm diameter thin-shell resonator from high-purity fused quartz, fabricated as a single-piece with its supporting stem has been designed, machined, etched, tuned, tested, and delivered by STM Co. (ATS of Ukraine) several years ago; an extremely-high Q-factor (upto 10~20 millions) has been shown. Understanding of the best way how to match such a unique sensor with inner glass assembly of the gyro means how to use the high potential in a maximal extent; and this has become the urgent task. Inner quartz glass assembly has a very thin indium (In) layer soldered the resonator and its silica base (case), but effects of internal resonances between operational modal pair of the shell-cup and its side (parasitic) modes can notable degrade the potential of the sensor as a whole, instead of so low level of resonator's intrinsic losses. Unfortunately, there are special combinations of dimensions of the parts (so-called, "resonant sizes"), when intensive losses of energy occurs. The authors proposed to use the length of stem's fixture as an additional design parameter to avoid such cases. So-called, a cyclic scheme of finite element method (FEM) and ANSYS software were employed to estimate different combinations of gyro assembly parameters. This variant has no mismatches of numerical origin due to FEM's discrete mesh. The optimum length and dangerous "resonant lengths" have been found. The special attention has been paid to analyses of 3D effects in a cup-stem transient zone, including determination of a difference between the positions of geometrical Pole of the resonant hemisphere and of its "dynamical Pole", i.e., its real zone of oscillation node. Boundary effects between the shell (cup) and 3D short "beams" (inner and outer stems) have been ranged. The results of the numerical experiments have been compared with the classic model of a quasi-hemispherical shell band with inextensional midsurface, and the solution using Rayleigh's functions of the $1^{st}$ and $2^{nd}$ kinds. To guarantee the truth of the recommended sizes to a designer of the real device, the analytical and FEM results have been compared with experimental data for a party of real resonators. The consistency of the results obtained by different means has been shown with errors less than 5%. The results notably differ from the data published earlier by different researchers.
