  • This paper proposes a neural network applying fine-tuning as a way to improve the performance of Video Classification based on Vision Transformer. Recently, the need for real-time video image analysis based on deep learning has emerged. Due to the characteristics of the existing CNN model used in Image Classification, it is difficult to analyze the association of consecutive frames. We want to find and solve the optimal model by comparing and analyzing the Vision Transformer and Non-local neural network models with the Attention mechanism. In addition, we propose an optimal fine-tuning neural network model by applying various methods of fine-tuning as a transfer learning method. The experiment trained the model with the UCF101 dataset and then verified the performance of the model by applying a transfer learning method to the UTA-RLDD dataset.

  • Evidence framework enables us to determine the tuning constant in a penalized likelihood formula. We apply the framework to the estimating parameters of normal mixtures. Evidence, which is a solely data-dependent measure, can be evaluated by Laplace approximation. According to a synthetic data simulation, we found that the proper values of the tuning constant can be systematically obtained.

  • In this paper, we suggested a neuro-fuzzy learning algorithm for tuning fuzzy rules, in which a fuzzy system model is of additive-type. Using the method, it is possible to reduce the computation size, since performing the fuzzy inference and tuning the fuzzy rules of each fuzzy subsystem model are independent. Moreover, the efficiency of suggested method is shown by means of a numerical example.

  • A Littman type dye laser oscillator inserted a wedge prism was constructed. Accurate frequency tuning was achieved by the rotation of the wedge prism instead of the tuning mirror. Frequency tuning rate was about 20 GHz/deg. and the synchronous tuning of 70 GHz without mode-hop was achieved. ieved.

  • PID(Proportional, Integral, Derivative) controller is one of the most used process controllers in nuclear power plants. The optimized parameter setting of process controller contributes to the stable operation and efficiency in the operating nuclear power plants. PID parameter setting is tuned when new process control system is established or process control system is changed. It is a burdensome work for I&C(Instrument and Control) engineers to tune the PID controller because it requires a lot of experience and knowledge. When the plant is in operation, inadequate PID parameter setting can be the cause of the unstable process of the plant. Therefore the results of PID parameter setting should be compared, simulated, verified and finally optimized. The practical PID tuning methods used in process controller are tuning operation calculation(Ziegler-Nicholes, Minimum TIAE, Lambda, IMC), exclusive tuning program based on computer and Matlab application. This paper introduces the various tuning methods and suggests an optimized PID tuning process in the operating nuclear power plants.

  • This paper presents a wide-band fine-resolution digitally controlled oscillator (DCO) with an active inductor using an automatic three-step coarse and gain tuning loop. To control the frequency of the DCO, the transconductance of the active inductor is tuned digitally. To cover the wide tuning range, a three-step coarse tuning scheme is used. In addition, the DCO gain needs to be calibrated digitally to compensate for gain variations. The DCO tuning range is 58% at 2.4 GHz, and the power consumption is 6.6 mW from a 1.2 V supply voltage. An effective frequency resolution is 0.14 kHz. The phase noise of the DCO output at 2.4 GHz is -120.67 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz offset.

  • This paper suggests that the immune algorithm can effectively be used in tuning of a PID controller. The artificial immune network always has a new parallel decentralized processing mechanism for various situations, since antibodies communicate to each other among different species of antibodies/B-cells through the stimulation and suppression chains among antibodies that form a large-scaled network. In addition to that, the structure of the network is not fixed, but varies continuously. That is, the artificial immune network flexibly self-organizes according to dynamic changes of external environment (meta-dynamics function). However, up to the present time, models based on the conventional crisp approach have been used to describe dynamic model relationship between antibody and antigen. Therefore, there are some problems with a less flexible result to the external behavior. On the other hand, a number of tuning technologies have been considered for the tuning of a PID controller. As a less common method, the fuzzy and neural network or its combined techniques are applied. However, in the case of the latter, yet, it is not applied in the practical field, in the former, a higher experience and technology is required during tuning procedure. In addition to that, tuning performance cannot be guaranteed with regards to a plant with non-linear characteristics or many kinds of disturbances. Along with these, this paper used immune algorithm in order that a PID controller can be more adaptable controlled against the external condition, including moise or disturbance of plant. Parameters P, I, D encoded in antibody randomly are allocated during selection processes to obtain an optimal gain required for plant. The result of study shows the artificial immune can effectively be used to tune, since it can more fit modes or parameters of the PID controller than that of the conventional tuning methods.

  • A new frequency tuning scheme and a transconductor with a wide tuning range and low harmonic distortion is presented. This frequency tuning technique is based on the relationship between the time-constant and the elapsed times in charging a capacitor up to a certain level. Its structure is as simple as that of a conventional tuning scheme using a VCF(Voltage-Controlled Filter) and it does not need a pure sine wave but uses a CLK(Clock) pulse as a reference signal, which is easily obtained from on-chip system clocks or external X-tal oscillators. When a certain reference CLK is given, without complex capacitor arrays the pole frequency of the filter can be controlled continuously in the frequency domain. Simulation results are presented to confirm the operation of the proposed approach.

  • This paper, Part 1, describes the effective dual-input PSS parameter design procedure for the IEEE Type PSS2A against the Dangjin 612 MVA thermal plant's EX2000 excitation system. The suggested tuning technique used the model-based PSS tuning method and consisted of three steps: 1) generation system modeling; 2) determination of PSS2A model parameters using linear, time-domain transient and 3-phase simultaneous analyses, and 3) field testing and verification, which are described in Part 2. The effective PSS2A model parameters of EX2000 system in the Dangjin T/P #4 were designed according to the suggested procedure, and verified by using three analyses.

  • A rate gyroscope has been used popularly to measure the angular motion of a given vehicle using a symmetric rotor spinning rapidly about its symmetry axis. Since the rapid rotation is required in this type of gyroscope, the motor has been used to make the rotor spin, so that it results in a heavy configuration. The tuning-fork gyroscope has been developed to avoid this problem, which utilizes a coriolis coupling term and vibration about one axis. Because of the coriolis effect, the vibration of one axis is transferred to other axis when the angular motion along the vibrating axis is given to the system. The concept of a tuning-fork gyroscope was recently realized using MEMS techniques. However, the dynamic characteristics of the tuning-fork gyroscope has not been discussed in detail. In this study, we derived the equations of motion for the tuning-fork type gyroscope using the energy approach and investigated the dynamic characteristics by means of numerical analysis.
