미사용 OVSF 부호를 이용한 WCDMA 역방향 링크 수신기의 SIR 기반 전력제어 성능 분석 (Performance of SIR-based power control using unused OVSF codes for WCDMA reverse link receiver)

  • 본 논문에서는 폐루프 고속 전력 제어를 수행하여 WCDMA(Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) 역방향 링크 수신기 시스템의 성능을 분석하였다. 고속 전력 제어를 수행하기 위해서는 기지국에서 SIR(Signal to Interference power Ratio)이 정확히 측정되어야 한다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 간단한 구조를 갖는 SIR 측정 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 제안한 구조는 미사용 OVSF(Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor) 부호를 이용하여 간섭 전력을 측정하는 새로운 방식이다. 본 논문에서 제안된 SIR 측정 알고리즘과 참고 문헌 [1]에 제시된 기존외 SIR 측정 알고리즘을 폐루프 고속 전력 제어에 적용하여 성능을 비교하였다. 동기 데이터 복조를 수행하기 위한 채널 추정 알고리즘으로는 Κ=2인 WMSA (Weighted Multi-Slot Averaging) 채밀 추정 필터를 적용하였다. 모의 실험 결과를 통해 제안한 SIR 측정 방식이 평균 BER 10/sup -3/관점에서 수신 Ε/sub b//Ι/sub 0/를 최대 0.9㏈ 감소시킬 수 있으며 다중 경로 수가 증가할수록 그리고 페이딩 속도가 더 빨라질수록 성능 차이는 더욱 커진다는 것을 제시하였다.

A Novel Modulation Scheme and a DC-Link Voltage Balancing Control Strategy for T-Type H-Bridge Cascaded Multilevel Converters

  • The cascaded multilevel converter is widely adopted to medium/high voltage and high power electronic applications due to the small harmonic components of the output voltage and the facilitation of modularity. In this paper, the operation principle of a T-type H-bridge topology is investigated in detail, and a carrier phase shifted pulse width modulation (CPS-PWM) based control method is proposed for this topology. Taking a virtual five-level waveform achieved by a unipolar double frequency CPS-PWM as the output object, PWM signals of the T-type H-bridge can be obtained by reverse derivation according to its switching modes. In addition, a control method for the T-type H-bridge based cascaded multilevel converter is introduced. Then a single-phase T-type H-bridge cascaded multilevel static var generator (SVG) prototype is built, and a repetitive controller based compound current control strategy is designed with the DC-link voltage balancing control scheme analyzed. Finally, simulation and experimental results validate the correctness and feasibility of the proposed modulation method and control strategy for T-type H-bridge based cascaded multilevel converters.

cdma2000 Physical Layer: An overview

  • cdma2000 offers several enhancement as compared to TIA/EIA-95, although it remains fully compatible with TIA/EIA-95 systems and allows for a smooth migration from one to the other-Major new capability include:1)connectivity to GSM-MAP in addition to IP and IS-41 networks; 2) new layering with new LAC and MAC architectures for improved service multiplexing and QoS management and efficient use of radio resource ;3) new bands and band widths of operation in support of various operator need and constraints, as well as desire for a smooth and progressive migration to cdma 2000; and 4) flexible channel structure in support of multiple services with various QoS and variable transmission rates at up to 1 Mbps per channel and 2 Mbps per user. Given the phenomenal success of wireless services and desire for higher rate wireless services. improved spectrum efficiency was a major design goal in the elaboration of cdma2000. Major capacity enhancing features include; 1) turbo coding for data transmission: 2)fast forward link power control :3) forward link transmit diversity; 4) support of directive antenna transmission techniques; 5) coherent reverse link structure; and 6) enhanced access channel operation. As users increasingly rely on their cell phone at work and at home for voice and data exchange, the stand-by time and operation-time are essential parameters that can influence customer's satisfaction and service utilization. Another major goal of cdma2000 was therefore to enable manufacturers to further optimize power utilization in the terminal. Major battery life enhancing features include; 1) improved reverse link performance (i.e., reduced transmit power per information bit; 2) new common channel structure and operation ;3) quick paging channel operation; 4) reverse link gated transmission ; and 5) new MAC stated for efficient and ubiquitous idle time idle time operation. this article provides additional details on those enhancements. The intent is not to duplicate the detailed cdma2000 radio access network specification, but rather to provide some background on the new features of cdma2000 and on the qualitative improvements as compared to the TIA/EIA-95 based systems. The article is focused on the physical layer structure and associated procedures. It therefore does not cover the MAC, LAC, radio resource management [1], or any other signaling protocols in any detail. We assume some familiarity with the basic CDMA concepts used in TIA/EIA-95.

  • 본 논문에서는 CDMA 셀룰러 망에서 셀 간의 간섭이 불균일한 경우에 역방향 링크에서의 간섭을 계산하기 위한 새로운 해석 방법을 제시한다, 특히, 제안된 방식에서는 역방향 링크 전력 제어의 동적 특성을 반영함으로써 셀 간의 불균일한 통화량이 시스템 용량에 미치는 영향을 정확하게 정량화할 수 있으며, 셰도잉과 소프트 핸드 오프에 따른 영향을 고려한 분석이 가능하다. 이와 같이 셀 간의 불균일한 통화량을 고려한 상황에서 역방향 링크 전력 제어의 동적 특성을 반영한 간섭 계산 방식은 기존 연구에서 제시되지 않은 부분이다. 제안된 방식으로 계산된 결과를 살펴보면, 인접한 모든 셀들의 통화량이 두배가 될 때 계산된 가입자 수는 전력 제어의 동적 특성을 고려하지 않고 계산된 결과에 비해 27%까지 감소하는 것을 알 수 있다.

  • In the CDMA mobile communication system, reverse power control can be used to minimize the interference level for a good quality of the voice channel, and used to maxmize the system capacity. In this paper, we have analyed the environment of the K-parameter and the access procedure for the mobile station, and proposed a new algorithm for the access probe procedure of the station. K-parameter is determined according to the environment of the base station and access probe can adaptively control the power according to the position changes of the mobile station or the rapid and various state changes of the channel. Simulation results in the limited test environment show that it can increase the system capacity and decrease the power comsumption of the mobile station while maintaining the good and stable quality of the voice channel.

  • In this paper, it is assumed that a mobile radio channel is a Rayleigh distributed multipath fading channel and Erlang capacity and equivalent channel numbers are calculated for the reverse link of a imperfect power controlled DS/CDMA cellular system considering both shadowing and multipath fading. The DS/CDMA blocking probability is calculated based on a new analysis method that considers Erlang capacity and ICF(interference correction factor) using the median value of $E_{b(i)}$/ $I_{o}$ corresponding to each reverse link user. It is showed that the effect of multipath fading must not be ignored in Erlang capacity of the IS-95 DS/CDMA cellular system and the Erlang capacity is decreased according to the increase of the deviation of the imperfect power control, to the decrease of the processing gain, to the increase of the voice activity.y.

  • The base station transceiver subsystem (BTS) of the CDMA Mobile System is interfaced to mobile stations over the air and to the wired network through a packet switched interconnection network. The potential benefits of CDMA technology are achieved when the transmitter and the receiver are properly designed and implemented. The physical layer of the interface at the base station is implemented with the CDMA ASICs and control circuits in channel card of the BTS. We present the design perspectives and structural illustration of the BTS. Base station modem ASICs and their control to implement the CDMA receiver, Baseband and RF signal processing blocks, and BTS controller are described. Elaborate power control is essential to ensure the high capacity which is one of advantages of the CDMA technology. The closed loop reverse link power control and the forward link power control operated in the BTS are described.

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수 선택적 레일리 페이딩 채널에서 불완전 전력 제어의 영향을 고려한 동기식 DS-CDMA 시스템의 역방향 링크 수용 용량이 분석된다. 불완전한 전력 제어의 영향을 분석하기 위해서, 코히어런트 RAKE 수신기를 가지는 동기식 DS-CDMA 시스템에서 수신 신호의 대수 정규 분포 표준편차를 고려한다. 불완전한 전력 제어가 존재하는 경우, 다중 경로 채널 전력 지연 프로파일 모양과 다중 경로의 수가 동기식 DS-CDMA 시스템의 성능에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고 또한 시스템 수용 용량을 추정하기 위해서 부호화된 비트 오류 확률이 계산되어진다. 그리고, 동기식 CDMA의 성능을 기존의 비동기식 CDMA 성능과 비교하여, 불완전한 전력 제어가 존재하는 상황에서 얻을 수 있는 수용 용량의 이득을 예측해본다.

  • 본 논문은 기지국 배열 안테나를 이용하여 전파음영 환경 하에서 MCGM 알고리즘과 전력제어 오차에 따른 cdma2000 셀룰러 시스템의 역방향 링크에 대한 성능을 분석한다. 블록킹 확률을 배열 파라미터와 $E_{b/}$ $N_{0}$ 및 간섭통계를 이용하여 유도하고 특정한 블록킹 확률에서의 시스템 용량을 계산한다. 1 %의 블록킹 확률, 전력제어 오차 2 dB, 배열 안테나 소자 수 M=2, 4, 8, 12에서 cdma2000 시스템과 IS-95 시스템의 사용자 수는 각각 21, 40, 75, 110명과 9, 17, 30, 44명으로 나타나, cdma2000 시스템이 IS-95 시스템에 비해 2.3~2.5배의 용량 증가를 보였다.다.다.

  • This paper presents a beamforming algorithm for the uplink application of a linear array antenna for WCDMA system. A steering beamforming algorithm is designed using a block DFT algorithm and its performance is analyzed and verified using computer simulations. Various environmental parameters such as the number of antenna elements, the number of users, the mobility of the target user, and the status of fast power control are reflected in the simulation study providing themselves as useful design and implementation guides for the reverse link beamforming of WCDMA system.
