The rises of the life index quality together with the medical technology improvement lead to a longer life expectancy. Then a better health care program, especially for elderly, is needed. The common health problems facing those senior citizens are changed from acute diseases to chronic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension. Then u-Health takes center stage in medical industry. Although u- Health medical device manufacturers have been improving their instruments, these instruments still rely on proprietary technologies without fixed platform. Even if the interface has been provided by the manufacturer, there is no widely-accepted uniform data model to access data of various u-Health devices. IEEE 11073 is a standard attempting to unify the interfaces of all medical devices. In this paper we have proposed a conversion software platform that assures interoperability among medical devices for ubiquitous sensor network. This module uses in order to develop a standard platform of medical system.

We prove the existence of uniform attractors $\mathcal{A}_{\varepsilon}$ in the space $H^1(\mathbb{R}^N){\cap}L^p(\mathbb{R}^N)$ for the following non-autonomous nonclassical diffusion equations on $\mathbb{R}^N$, $$u_t-{\varepsilon}{\Delta}u_t-{\Delta}u+f(x,u)+{\lambda}u=g(x,t),\;{\varepsilon}{\in}(0,1]$$. The upper semicontinuity of the uniform attractors $\{\mathcal{A}_{\varepsilon}\}_{{\varepsilon}{\in}[0,1]}$ at ${\varepsilon}=0$ is also studied.

It is considered that herbal medicine may also have hepatotoxicity and Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata is thought to be the most poisonous. We investigated the changes of aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and ${\gamma}-glutamyltranspeptidase{\;}({\gamma}-GT$)$ in 6 cases administrated herbal medicine containing Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata and tried to evaluate its influence on liver enzymes. Before administration, the mean values of AST and ALT were $30.5{\pm}12.4${\;}U/L{\;}and{\;}30.7{\pm}22.5{\;}U/L$. After administration, those of AST, ALT and ${\gamma}-GT{\;}were{\;}25.7{\pm}8.7 {\;}U/L,{\;}28{\pm}14.8{\;}U/L{\;}and{\;}34.3{\pm}19.4{\;}U/L$ respectively. Therefore, it is indirectly assured that herbal medicine containing Aconiti Radix Lateralis Preparata didn't influence liver enzymes such as AST, ALT, ${\gamma}-GT$.

D-Ala2-Leu5-enkephalin (DADLE), a hibernation inducer, can induce hibernation-like state in vivo and in vitro. We treated U937 human leukemia cancer cells with DADLE and investigated its possible effect on transcription and proliferation. Treatment of U937 cells with DADLE resulted in growth inhibition and induction of apoptotic cell death on high-dose as measured by MTT assay and DNA flow cytometer analysis. Bcl-XL, c-IAP-2 and survivin genes especially showed decreases in mRNA levels. DADLE treatment also inhibited the levels of cyclooxygenase (COX)-2 mRNA without alteration of COX-1 expression. DNA flow cytometer analysis revealed that DADLE caused arrest of the cell cycle on low-dose, which was associated with a down-regulation of cyclin E at the transcriptional level. DADLE treatment induced a marked down-regulation of cyclin-dependent kinase (Cdk)-2, -4 and -6. In addition, treatment with DADLE decreased telomere associated genes such as, c-myc and TERT, and increased TEP-1 in U937 cells. These results suggest that DADLE can be an inhibition agent in the cell cycle of the human leukemia cancer U937 cell.

This study is a follow-up study of Han and Kang (2013) and Kang and Han (2013) which examined cross-generational changes in the Korean vowels /o/ and /u/ using acoustic analyses of the vowel formants of these two vowels, their Euclidean distances and the overlap fraction values generated in SOAM 2D (Wassink, 2006). Their results showed an on-going approximation of /o/ and /u/, more evident in female speakers and non-initial vowels. However, these studies employed non-words in a frame sentence. To see the extent to which these two vowels are merged in real words in spontaneous speech, we conducted an acoustic analysis of the formants of /o/ and /u/ produced by two age groups of female speakers while reading a letter sample. The results demonstrate that 1) the younger speakers employed mostly F2 but not F1 differences in the production of /o/ and /u/; 2) the Euclidean distance of these two vowels was shorter in non-initial than initial position, but there was no difference in Euclidean distance between the two age groups (20's vs. 40-50's); 3) overall, /o/ and /u/ were more overlapped in non-initial than initial position, but in non-initial position, younger speakers showed more congested distribution of the vowels than in older speakers.

In this paper, the aperture-coupled U-slot microstrip patch antenna is studied for the bandwidth improvement. The aperture is used as a mechanism for coupling the radiating element to the microstrip feedline, and the aperture-coupled configuration provides the advantage of isolating spurious feed radiation by the use of common ground plane. Experimental results such as return loss, VSWR, radiation pattern and gain measurements are presented on the aperture-coupled U-slot microstrip patch antenna. The impedance bandwidth (VSWR≤2) of the antenna is 6.4% centered at 2.35GHz, and the average gain is 5.3 dBi.

Fibrinolytic activities of cultured medium and mycelium from 13 selected culturable mushrooms ranged 0.00-0.16 U and 0.00-0.48 U, respectively. Dry cell weight of Armillaria mellea was 6.50g/100mL, 1.9-5.0 fold higher than other tested mushrooms. Among artificially cultured mushroom fruiting bodies tested, fibrinolytic activity was lowest in Hericium erinaceus (0.17 U) and highest in Pleurotus ferulea (0.94 U).

There have been many studies on u-Healthcare system for human using sensor network systems. In this paper, we design and implement a healthcare system for pets called uPetCare(Ubiquitous Pet-Care System) that can manage the status of pet on the web. The main functions of this system are 1) gathering data using sensor network, 2) multi-hop communication in sensor network, 3) data compression and aggregation at sink node, 4) storing data in web server, 5) real-time data monitoring using AJAX, 6) activity recognition of pet.

We consider initial value problems for the semirelativistic Hartree type equations with cubic convolution nonlinearity $F(u)=(V*{\mid}u{\mid}^2)u$. Here V is a sum of two Coulomb type potentials. Under a specified decay condition and a symmetric condition for the potential V we show the global existence and scattering of solutions.
