Detection of Implicit Walking Intention for Walking-assistant Robot Based on Analysis of Bio/Kinesthetic Sensor Signals (보행보조로봇을 위한 다중 생체/역학 센서의 신호 분석 및 사용자 의도 감지)

  • In order to produce a convenient robot for the aged and the lower limb disabled, it is needed for the research detecting implicit walking intention and controlling robot by a user's intention. In this study, we developed sensor module system to control the walking- assist robot using FSR sensor and tilt sensor, and analyzed the signals being acquired from two sensors. The sensor module system consisted of the assist device control unit, communication unit by wire/wireless, information collection unit, information operation unit, and information processing PC which handles integrated processing of assist device control. The FSR sensors attached user's the palm and the soles of foot are sensing force/pressure signals from these areas and are used for detecting the walking intention and states. The tilt sensor acquires roll and pitch signal from area of vertebrae lumbales and reflects the pose of the upper limb. We could recognize the more detailed user's walking intention such as 'start walking', 'start of right or left foot forward', and 'stop walking' by the combination of FSR and tilt signals can recognize.

A Wire-overhead-free Reset Propagation Scheme for Millimeter-scale Sensor Systems

  • This paper presents a novel reset scheme for mm-scale sensing systems with stringent volume and area constraints. In such systems, multi-layer structure is required to maximize the silicon area per volume and minimize the system size. The multi-layer structure requires wirebonding connections for power delivery and communication among layers, but the area overhead for wirebonding pads can be significant. The proposed reset scheme exploits already existing power wires and thus does not require additional wires for system-wide reset operation. To implement the proposed reset scheme, a power management unit is designed to impose reset condition, and a reset detector is designed to interpret the reset condition indicated by the power wires. The reset detector uses a coupling capacitor for the initial power-up and a feedback path to hold the developed supply voltage. The prototype reset detector is fabricated in a $180-{\mu}m$ CMOS process, and the measurement results with the prototype mm-scale system confirmed robust reset operation over a wide range of temperatures and voltages.

  • In the traditional telephone services, the settlement method for usage of facilities has been systematically and reasonably arranged based on the cost. Through the advanced technology, the telecommunication services such as the convergence of voice-data, wire-wireless, communication-broadcasting, etc are offering. So, new settlement method in the broadband convergence network (BCN) should be necessary. This paper suggests inter-companies settlement method in the broadband network using interconnection bandwidth and transmission distance factor. By reflecting the facility cost weight on each BCN level, the cost settlement for various services can be easily done. As the settlement model for BCN, the inter-companies interconnection and settlement can be normalized by interconnection bandwidth and transmission distance factors.

  • The high tech marine transportation infrastructure is an innovative transportation infrastructure that may be able to secure a safe transportation environment as well as efficient operation by connecting up-to-date skills including a broad range of wire and wireless communication-based information, control and electronics technologies. When integrated into the marine transportation infrastructure by the standard requirements, these standard technologies help monitor and manage navigational aids. After investigated on current status of marine transportation system, verified on integrating marine transportation systems, the standard requirements have to suggest a appropriate way of integrating marine traffic systems and proper way of using old marine traffic infrastructure.

  • In this paper, we propose electronic payment protocol using GDHP blind signature scheme to activate e-business in the wire/wireless integrated environment. The protocol applied elliptic curve algorithm on the GDHP base and improved the efficiency of the existing blind signature technique on the basis of communication frequency and calculation number. And the protocol accelerated speed and strengthened safety against man-in-the-middle attacks and forward secrecy because the certification between individuals is performed by the session key created by Weil paring using elliptic curve cryptosystem in the limited entity $F_q$ instead of the certification used in the existing PayWord protocol.

  • In this paper, we suggest a network game system that can support video game based on multi-platform for multi-user video game, Latency occurring from the load fluctuation in realtime network game is overcomed by using an initial delay buffering scheme on client, when a real-fire game is played, and shows that stable play for a game is achieved as the result of the scheme. Also, We suggest a retransmission algorithm based on the history of game commands, and this Algorithm supplement shortcomings for packet loss and pocket error on UDP communication.

  • This paper presents the smart system platform for remotely controlling the windows and doors system(WDS), which gathers and analyzes the state of WDS and the environmental data for preventing crimes and keeping a pleasant indoor. In particular, standard API between the smart WDS platform and the smart home platform has been presented to be easy to a home services, such as security, safety, and home appliance control. The private gateway of wire and wireless communication interfaces has been developed to remotely control and monitor the WDS for anytime and anyplace solving the crime prevention and ventilation problem. Web-and App-based user interface in order to detect the opening and shutting states and remotely control WDS have also been developed to support the mobile environment, respectively.

  • The usage of LED(Light Emitting Diode) has been rapidly increased and energy efficient management of LED light system is regarded as an important technology to enhance the energy efficiency. In this paper, we design and implementation of LED lighting controller which can control the LED lighting by using the wire and wireless communication technology based on the LAN(Local Area Network) and PAN(Personal Area Network). The implemented system can reduce the cost of LED lighting installing and avoids complicated wiring problem. And it is possible to minimize power consumption through automatic or manual LED control that they wished. In experimental results, the implemented LED lighting controller was satisfactory for all of the desired functions.

  • Using wireless communication that has been developed, it has activated electronic commerce. Thus in this kind of commercial dealing, it is more important to provide user's friendly relation rather than providers mechanical reaction to be one of the important factors. So in this paper, it describes about the development of Client Information Monitoring System(CiMoS) that accumulate user's information during the electronic commerce(wire-less) and evaluate to make server to use it in real time.
