  • The multitree pattern recognition algorithm proposed by [1] and [2] is modified in order to improve its performance. The basic idea of the multitree pattern classification algorithm is that the binary dceision tree used to classify an unknow pattern is constructed for each feature and that at each stage, classification rule decides whether to classify the unknown pattern or to extract the feature value according to the feature ordet. So the feature ordering needed in the calssification procedure is simple and the number of features used in the classification procedure is small compared with other classification algorithms. Thus the algorithm can be easily applied to real pattern recognition problems even when the number of features and that of the classes are very large. In this paper, the wighting factor assignment scheme in the decision procedure is modified and various classification rules are proposed by means of the weighting factor. And the branch and bound method is applied to feature subset selection and feature ordering. Several experimental results show that the performance of the multitree pattern classification algorithm is improved by the proposed scheme.

  • This study investigates a design optimization of a rotating two-pass rectangular cooling channel with staggered arrays of pin-fins. The radial basis neural network method is used as an optimization technique with Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes analysis of fluid flow and heat transfer with shear stress transport turbulent model. The ratio of the diameter to height of the pin-fins and the ratio of the streamwise spacing between the pin-fins to height of the pin-fin are selected as design variables. The optimization problem has been defined as a minimization of the objective function, which is defined as a linear combination of heat transfer related term and friction loss related term with a weighting factor. Results are presented for streamlines, velocity vector fields, and contours of Nusselt numbers, friction coefficients, and turbulent kinetic energy. These results show how fluid flow in a two-pass square cooling channel evolves a converted secondary flows due to Coriolis force, staggered arrays of pin-fins, and a $180^{\circ}$ turn region. These results describe how the fluid flow affects surface heat transfer. The Coriolis force induces heat transfer discrepancy between leading and trailing surfaces, having higher Nusselt number on the leading surface in the second pass while having lower Nusselt number on the trailing surface. Dean vortices generated in $180^{\circ}$ turn region augment heat transfer in the turning region and in the upstream region of the second pass. As the result of optimization, in comparison with the reference geometry, thermal performance of the optimum geometry shows the improvement by 30.5%. Through the optimization, the diameter of pin-fin increased by 14.9% and the streamwise distance between pin-fins increased by 32.1%. And, the value of objective function decreased by 18.1%.

  • Because people are gradually interested in bicycles, central and local governments provide many efforts for expanding bikeway plans and utilization. However, most domestic bicycle plans have been established for the urban and leisure. This research is focused on developing the evaluation method to give the priority order for the investment of rural community bicycle roads. For the methodology development, the planning hierarchy and indicator framework are proposed in this paper. In order to decide the weighting value for indicators, a questionnaire survey to transportation experts was conducted. Moreover, the coefficient for social and spatial equity was applied to consider the balance of regional development. The evaluation was applied to a pilot corridor comprised of a 160km section of national highway in korea. This methodology provides a new tool to decide priority order for the investment of bicycle facilities.

  • Numerical simulations have been performed to investigate various spectral estimators used in LDV signal processing. In order to simulate a particle arrival time statistics known as the doubly stochastic poisson process, an autoregressive vector model was adopted to construct a primary velocity field. The conditional Poisson process with a random rate parameter was generated through the rescaling time process using the mean value function. The direct transform based on random sampling sequences and the standard periodogram using periodically resampled data by the sample and hold interpolation were applied to obtain power spectral density functions. For low turbulent intensity flows, the direct transform with a constant Poisson intensity is in good agreement with the theoretical spectrum. The periodogram using the sample and hold sequences is better than the direct transform in the view of the stability and the weighting of the velocity bias for high data density flows. The high Reynolds stress and high fluctuation of the transverse velocity component affects the velocity bias which increases the distortion of spectral components in the direct transform.

  • Real estate market has rapidly grown by active use of project financing in the early 2000s. However, many projects have been in trouble due to global economic recession after that period. It is mainly because those projects were pushed forward a business without comprehensive business feasibility analysis. This paper investigated current evaluation system for real estate development projects and then introduced new evaluation system including evaluation factor and criteria for real estate development projects to prevent implementation of the project without business value and to be able to evaluate potential projects in objective manner. This new evaluation system for real estate development projects can be applied to any type of real estate development projects by modifying evaluation items and weighting factor in accordance with the type and characteristics of project. Through the new evaluation system, the evaluation process for real estate development projects will be able to be standardized, be consistent, and the results of evaluation can be accumulated in consistent way.

  • In this study, we investigate the accuracy of higher order derivatives in the moving least square (MLS) difference method. An interpolation function is constructed by employing a Taylor series expansion via MLS approximation. The function is then applied to the mixed variational theorem in which the displacement and stress resultants are treated as independent variables. The higher order derivatives are evaluated by solving simply supported beams and cantilevers. The results are compared with the analytical solutions in terms of the order of polynomials, support size of the weighting function, and number of nodes. The accuracy of the higher order derivatives improves with the employment of the mean value theorem, especially for very high-order derivatives (e.g., above fourth-order derivatives), which are important in a classical asymptotic analysis.

  • Integrated interpretation of multi-geophysical data has been continuously used in terms that it has provided more confident information than the result from single-geophysical data. Especially, geostatistical integration has its own superiority that it is possible to deal with spatial characteristics as well as physical properties of survey data and the process of integration is clear. This paper further extends the previous work of geostatistical inversion for integrated interpretation. In this paper, we propose a new way of dealing with the case that the multi-geophysical data do not share the measurement range. According to the geostatistical kriging, the closer between the measurement points, the smaller kriging variance we get, and vice versa. We used this spatial properties as a weighting value to the process of geostatistical inversion for the geophysical data integration. An objective way to integrate different kinds of geophysical data measured at different ranges is provided with this algorithm.

  • The Geant4 based Monte Carlo code for the application of stereotactic radiosurgery was developed. The probability density function and cumulative density function to determine the incident photon energy were calculated from pre-calculated energy spectrum for the linac by multiplying the weighting factors corresponding to the energy bins. The messenger class to transfer the various MLC fields generated by the planning system was used. The rotation matrix of rotateX and rotateY were used for simulating gantry and table rotation respectively. We construct accelerator world and phantom world in the main world coordinate to rotate accelerator and phantom world independently. We used dicomHandler class object to convert from the dicom binary file to the text file which contains the matrix number, pixel size, pixel's HU, bit size, padding value and high bits order. We reconstruct this class object to work fine. We also reconstruct the PrimaryGeneratorAction class to speed up the calculation time. because of the huge calculation time we discard search process of the ThitsMap and used direct access method from the first to the last element to produce the result files.

  • This study explores the prescribing pattern of generic drugs and the relationship between socio-demographic factors and the use of generics in South Korea. The analysis was based on claims data of 2011 from Korean National Health Insurance. We examined utilization, costs, and market share of oral preparations by original and generic product. Multiple logistic regression was performed to evaluate the predictive factors of generic use among multi-source medications. Generics accounted for 37~41% of utilization and 34~41% of costs in the insured market of oral preparations. In the generic market, costly generics made up about 58~61%, 56~66% of volume and value, respectively. Other things being equal, institutional factors affected generic use to the largest degree. The odds of having generics were 6 times higher in clinics, 4 times higher in hospitals, and 1.7 times higher in general hospitals than in teaching hospitals. Those in metropolitan or rural area were more likely to prescribe generics than those in the capital area. While generics were frequently prescribed for off-site pharmacy (OR=1.173), the odds of having generics was 0.88 after weighting the data by units prescribed. This study empirically presented the pattern of generic prescribing, confirming the widely accepted view that costly generics were more likely to be utilized in the Korean market. Up to two thirds of the generic market consisted of costly products. The strongest factors affecting generic use were institutional variables.

  • In this paper, depth of foreground is analysed by focus and color analysis grouping for 2D/3D video conversion and depth of foreground progressing method is preposed by using focus and motion information. Candidate foreground image is generated by estimated movement of image focus information for extracting foreground from 2D video. Area of foreground is extracted by filling progress using color analysis on hole area of inner object existing candidate foreground image. Depth information is generated by analysing value of focus existing on actual frame for allocating depth at generated foreground area. Depth information is allocated by weighting motion information. Results of previous proposed algorithm is compared with proposed method from this paper for evaluating the quality of generated depth information.
