The subjects of this study were 320 student nurses from two universities and three junior colleges located in Seoul. The data were collected from November 28 to December 10, 1997 by a questionnaire survey method. The instruments for this study were the perceived stress scale developed by Levenstein(1993), ways of coping scale developed by lazarus & Folkman (1984), and the stress response scale developed by Choi(1991). The data were analyzed by SAS program, using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, and ANOVA. The results are summarized as follows : 1. The mean score for the level of perceived stress was 2.55. 2. The mean score for the level of problem oriented coping was 1.61 and the mean score for the level of emotional oriented coping was 1.37. 3. The mean score for the level of stress response was 3.74. Stress was classified into nine factors and the order of scoring for the most frequent was ; assignments(3.98), as a nurse(3.97), interpersonal relationship(3.88). 4. The relationship between perceived stress and stress response revealed a positive significant correlation(r=0.23, p=0.0001) 5. The relationship between emotional oriented coping and stress response revealed a positive significant correlation(r=0.22, p=0.0001). 6. The relationship between perceived stress and emotional oriented coping revealed a positive significant correlation(r=0.13, p=0.020). In conclusion, this study revealed that the level of perceived stress and ways of coping were important factors influencing the stress response of student nurses. Therefore, in consideration of perceived stress, ways of coping should be included in the development of a stress management program for student nurses. • This purposes of study are to examine the effect of family related stress and social support on the ways of coping of adolescents and provide a ground necessary to improve it. A survey was conducted on 756 adolescents who were living in Naju. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. This study utilized two different models, direct effect model and buffering effect of social support in order to examine the effects of social support on the ways of coping of adolescents. Research findings suggest that the level of coping appeared to be low in general among adolescents. The finding of direct effect model of social support was that mother's support, father's support, sibling's support, lather's grade, mother's grade, and economic level effected the ways of coping of adolescents. But it was not empirically supported that the social support buffered the family related stress on the ways of coping. In other words, the effects of family related stress factor didn't decrease with the increase in the level of social support, however the level of coping increased at a mercy of the age and economic level. Finally, this paper attempted to provide some alternatives to effectively improve the ways of coping among adolescents based on empirical findings.

Data were collected using Korean Mental Health Continuum Short Form scale, and the ways of coping checklist modified from 301 undergraduate students in 4 universities in Busan and through online, and analyzed using descriptive statistics, ${\chi}^2$ test, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson correlation coefficients with SPSS/WIN 21.0. On average, mental health level was 35.6 out of 70 points, and the students using SNS use more active coping than passive coping as way of stress coping. The factors showed significant relationships with mental health were gender, and number of person contacted on offline within online counterparts, and with problem-focused coping were gender, preferred types of SNS, period of use, and hours per day on SNS, with social support seeking were preferred types of SNS, hours per day on SNS, and number of online counterparts, with emotion-focused coping were grade, instruments types for using SNS, and hours per day on SNS and with wishful thought were instruments types for using SNS, and hours per day on SNS. • Purpose: Purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the Mindfulness Meditation program on perceived stress, ways of coping, salivary cortisol level, and psychological stress response in patients with breast cancer. Methods: This was a quasiexperimental study with a non-equivalent control group pre-post test design. Participants in this study were 50 patients who had completed breast cancer treatment (experimental group, 25, control group, 25). The experimental group received the Mindfulness Meditation program for 3 hours/session/ week for 8 weeks. Data were analyzed using $X^2$-test and t-test for subject homogeneity verification, and ANCOVA to examine the hypotheses. Results: The experimental group had significantly lower scores for perceived stress, emotional focused coping, salivary cortisol level, and psychological stress response compared to the control group. However, no significant differences were found between two groups for the scores on problem focused stress coping. Conclusion: According to the results, the Mindfulness Meditation program was useful for decreasing perceived stress, emotional focused coping, salivary cortisol level, and psychological stress response.
