벡터 감쇠기의 설계 (Design of Vector Attenuator)

  • 감쇠기와 위상 변환기로 구성된 진폭/위상 조정 회로는 위상/이득 상호 결합 현상을 일으켜서 최적 동작점을 찾는 데에는 많은 조정 시간이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 입력신호의 진폭과 위상을 제어하여 출력하는 벡터 감쇠기를 설계하였다. 종전의 벡터 감쇠기는 감쇠기의 위상 변화 특성을 무시하였으나, 본 논문의 벡터 감쇠기는 감쇠기의 위상 변화 특성을 보상하였다. 이 벡터 감쇠기는 0°/180° 위상 변환기, 저위상 변화 감쇠기등으로 이루어지는데, 0°/180° 위상 변환기는 중심주파수 881MHz에서 0°/179.9° 위상 변환 특성을 얻었고, 저위상 변화 감쇠기는 감쇠량이 25dB일 때 위상 변화가 3.6° 이내, 입출력 반사 특성이 -20dB이하를 얻었다. 구현된 벡터 감쇠기는 출력 신호 공간의 직교 좌표 평면을 정확히 표현할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Crucial to the success of the vector control scheme without speed sensor is up to computing instantaneous position of the rotor flux. In tracing this flux depending on the machine parameter, variations of those factor lead to the non-linear charlcteristic between I/O value and decrease overall efficiency of the vector control scheme. This paper, using recursive least square method estimating instantaneous value of the machine speed and parameter from the shift of current and voltage, proposes an algorithm for compensating the I/O error of the scheme.

Performance of the Long Code MMSE Detector With Pilot Channel in the Presence of Rayleigh Fading

  • In this paper we propose a new structure of the long code MMSE receiver with pilot channel, which maintians excellent symbol detection capability even in the presence of Rayleigh fading. We explain analytically how the stability of the receiver weight vector, which is critical to the system performance, can be achieved by compensating the error signal as well as received signal vector distorted by fading channel. Computer simulation shows while maintaining better performance than the conventional matched filter receiver, the proposed long code MMSE receiver can extend its period up to $16{\times}T_b$ in a fading environment.

  • This paper presents the new method to recognize the 2D patterns dynamically by rotating the input patterns according to the difference vector. Generally neural network with many patterns leads to various recognition ratio. The dynamic management of input patterns means that we can move pixels to desired locations controlled by the difference vector. We divide dual neural network model into two parts at learning phase, respectively. And then we combine them to construct the total network. Our model has some good results such that it has less number of patterns and reduced learning time. At present, we only discuss the four way movement of input patterns. The research for the complex movement will be fulfilled later.

Performance analysis of atomic magnetometer and bandwidth-extended loop antenna in resonant phase-modulated magnetic field communication system

  • Telecommunications through an electrically conductive medium require the use of carrier bands with very-low and ultralow frequencies to establish radiofrequency links in harsh environments. Recent advances in atomic magnetometers operating at very-low frequencies have facilitated the reception of digitally modulated signals. We demonstrate the transmission and reception of quadrature phase-shift keying (QPSK) signals using a multi-resonant loop antenna and atomic magnetometer, respectively. We report the measured error vector magnitude according to the symbol rate for QPSK modulation and analyze the bandwidth of a receiver based on the atomic magnetometer. The multi-resonant loop antenna noticeably enhances the bandwidth by over 70% compared with a single-loop antenna. QPSK modulation for a carrier frequency of 20 kHz and symbol rate of 150 symbols per second verifies the feasibility of demodulation, and the measured error vector magnitude and signal-to-noise ratio are 7.29% and 30.9 dB, respectively.

  • 본 논문에서는 4개의 다이오드 감쇠기, 비대칭 커플드 라인 커플러, 대칭 커플드 라인 커플러 및 전력 합성기를 이용한 벡터 모듈레이터형 광대역 아날로그 위상변위기를 구현하였다. 가격, 회로의 크기 및 수동소자의 수에 그 장점이 있는 간단한 구조를 제안하였다. P-I-N 다이오드 감쇠기의 감쇠량에 따른 위상변화를 수식적으로 표현하여, 전체회로를 최적화하였다. 제작된 위상변위기는 1 GHz~3 GHz주파수 대역에서 360$^{\circ}$위상변화를 나타내며, $\pm$8.2$^{\circ}$의 최대 위상 오차 및 16$\pm$2.5 dB의 삽입 손실을 나타내었다.

마코프 국면전환을 고려한 이자율 기간구조 연구 (The Behavior of the Term Structure of Interest Rates with the Markov Regime Switching Models)

  • This study examines a cointegrated vector autoregressive (VAR) model where parameters are subject to switch across the regimes in the term structure of interest rates. To employ the regime switching framework, the Markov-switching vector error correction model (MS-VECM) is allowed to the regime shifts in the vector of intercept terms, the variance-covariance terms, the error correction terms, and the autoregressive coefficient parts. The corresponding approaches are illustrated using the term structure of interest rates in the US Treasury bonds over the period of 1958 to 2009. Throughout the modeling procedure, we find that the MS-VECM can form a statistically adequate representation of the term structure of interest rate in the US Treasury bonds. Moreover, the regime switching effects are analyzed in connection with the historical government monetary policy and with the recent global financial crisis. Finally, the results from the comparisons both in information criteria and in forecasting exercises with and without the regime switching lead us to conclude that the models in the presence of regime dependence are superior to the linear VECM model.

QUASI-INNER FUNCTIONS OF A GENERALIZED BEURLING'S THEOREM

  • We introduce two kinds of quasi-inner functions. Since every rationally invariant subspace for a shift operator S$_K$ on a vector-valued Hardy space H$^2$(${\Omega}$, K) is generated by a quasi-inner function, we also provide relationships of quasi-inner functions by comparing rationally invariant subspaces generated by them. Furthermore, we discuss fundamental properties of quasi-inner functions and quasi-inner divisors.

  • Pattern classification is an essential step in automatic robotic assembly which joins together finite number of seperated industrial parts. In this paper, a fast and systematic algorithm for classifying occlusion-free objects is proposed, using the notion of incremental circle transform which describes the boundary contour of an object as a parametric vector function of incremental elements. With similarity transform and line integral, normalized determinant curve of an object classifies each object, independent of position, orientation, scaling of an object and cyclic shift of the stating point for the boundary description.

  • The original Bates-Watts framework applies only to the complete parameter vector. Thus, guidelines developed in that framework can be misleading when the adequacy of the linear approximation is very different for different subsets. The subset curvature measures appear to be reliable indicators of the adequacy of linear approximation for an arbitrary subset of parameters in nonlinear models. Given the specific mean shift outlier model, the standard approaches to obtaining test statistics for outliers are discussed. The accuracy of outlier tests is investigated using subset curvatures.
