진공냉각장치와 그 이용 (Vacuum Cooling System and Their Use)

  • This article describes the working prnciple, structure and main characteristics of vacuum coolers for vegetables, and gives concrete examples of vacuum coolers that srebeing put to practical use. In particular, newly-developed cavuum coolers with cold storage, utilizing night-time electricity, are focused upon. Processing plants for vegetables, cold-storage rooms and vacuum cooling devices were investigated as possible application of vacuum cooling technology.

  • 진공기술기반구축사업의 진공 측정기기 평가장치 구축사업으로 저진공($10^{-1}$Pa~$10^{5}$ Pa)게이지 종합특성 평가장치를 설계제작하였다. 이 장치를 이용하여 열전도형 게이지의 정확도, 직선성, 반복성, 기체감도, 그리고 장기 안정성 등에 대한 특성 평가를 수행하였다.

  • Particle characteristics diagnosis system (PCDS) was developed to measure submicron particle characteristics by modulation of particle beam mass spectrometry (PBMS) with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy (EDS). It is possible to measure the particle size distribution in real-time, and the shape, composition can be measured in sequence keeping vacuum condition. Apparatus was calibrated by measuring the size classified NaCl particle which generated at atmospheric pressure. After the calibration, particles were sampled from the exhaust line of plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) process and measured. Result confirms that PCDS is capable for analyzing particles in vacuum condition.

수 이젝터를 이용한 밀폐형 진공탱크내의 온도저감 특성 (Characteristics of Cooling Down in the Enclosed Vacuum Tank by Water Driving Ejector)

  • The general cooling tower is a device for making a cooling water in refrigerant condensers or industrial process heat exchangers. The present cooling tower have defects with noises, complicated structure and environmental problems. In this paper, we constituted a new water cooling system by using a evaporating latent heat in an enclosed tank, and this system is consisted of an enclosed vacuum tank and water driving ejector system. Several experimental cases were carried out for improvement methods of high vacuum pressure and water cooling characteristics. The ejector performance was tested in case of water temperature variations that flows in the ejector. Based on the vacuum pressure by water driving ejector, the water cooling characteristics were investigated for the vaporized air condensing effects.

잣나무 간벌(間伐)통나무와 수심재(髓心材)의 가열판식(加熱板式) 진공건조(眞空乾燥) 특성 (The Characteristics of Vacuum Drying Heated by Hot Plates for the Thinned Logs and Pillars of Korean Pine)

  • We investigated the characteristics of air-and vacuum-drying heated by hot plates for 8~14cm-diameter logs or 6~12cm-thick pillars of Pinus koraiensis. And we evaluated the effects of longitudinal kerf and vacuum drying heated by hot plates. The vacuum drying times from green to 10.9~18.6% MC were 15 days, and these times were one-fifth compared to the air-drying times. The longitudinal kerfing had no significant, effect on drying rates during both air-drying and vacuum drying. But drying defects such as surface checks and V-shaped cracks were effectively prevented during air-drying and vacuum drying by longitudinal kerfing. The vacuum drying was more advantageous than air-drying for preventing of surface checks, end checks and V-shaped cracks, and especially, the vacuum dried pillars with longitudinal kerf were almost free from drying defects. In accelerated weathering conditions the resin did not exude for all specimens.

Characteristics of Superposed Discharge type Ozonizer by Variation of Inner Dielectric Vacuum

  • In this paper, a superposed discharge type ozonizer with an internal dielectric that can be made into a vacuum tube has been designed and fabricated. Ozone generation and discharge characteristics have been investigated in accordance with output voltage of power supply, flow-rate, discharge power and vacuum of inside internal dielectric. Pure oxygen was used as the supply gas of the ozonizer. Ozone concentration and ozone generation are gradually increased when discharge power is increased at the same flow-rate and they are both proportional to the vacuum level. As such, the maximum ozone concentration of 8840 ppm was obtained at vacuum 0.1 Torr and flow-rate 0.5 $\ell$/min.

  • Vacuum interrupters in order to be used in various switch-gear components such as circuit breakers, distribution switches, contactors, etc. spread the arc uniformly over the surface of the contacts. The electrodes of vacuum interrupters are made of sinter-forged Cu-Cr materials for good electrical and mechanical characteristics. Since the closing velocity is 1-2m/s and impact deformation of the electrode depends on the strain rate at that velocity, the dynamic behavior of the sinter-forged Cu-Cr is a key to investigate the impact characteristics of the electrodes. The dynamic response of the material at intermediate strain rate is obtained from the high speed tensile test machine test and at the high strain rate is obtained from the split Hopkinson pressure bar test. Experimental results from both quasi-static and dynamic compressive tests are interpolated to construct the Johnson-Cook model as the constitutive relation that should be applied to simulation of the dynamic behavior of the electrodes. The impact characteristics of a vacuum interrupter are investigated with computer simulations by changing the amount of chromium content.

감압 및 절임방법에 따른 돔배기의 품질변화 (Changes in Quality Characteristics of Shark Meat (Dombaegi) during Salting Using Vacuum and Conventional Salting Methods)

  • 새로운 돔배기 절임공정을 개발하고자 상압과 감압하에 직간법과 물간법으로 염절임한 돔배기의 품질특성을 비교하였다. 무게 감소율은 물간법으로 상압하에서 절임 하였을 때 12.23%로 높았으며, 수분함량은 감압상태에서 물간법으로 절임한 돔배기가 65.46%로 높았다. 염함량은 직간법으로 감압상태에서 절임 하였을 때 3.02%로 높았으며, 보수력은 직간법으로 감압상태에서 절임한 돔배기가 60.2%로 높았다. 수분활성도는 상압상태에서 직간법으로 절임 하였을 때 0.926으로 낮았으며, 색차는 감압상태에서 물간법으로 절임한 돔배기가 9.75로 가장 낮았으며, 탄력성은 직간법으로 감압상태에서 절임한 돔배기가 91.7%로 높았다. 상압과 감압상태에서 절임한 돔배기을 비교하였을 때, 감압상태에서 절임한 돔배기의 품질특성이 더 좋은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 감압상태에서의 절임법은 새로운 절임 가공 기술로 활용할 수 있는 가능성을 보였다.

전극형상 변화가 진공차단기내 축방향 자기장 특성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Electrode Configurations on the Characteristics of Axial Magnetic Fields in Vacuum Interrupter)

  • The vacuum interrupter (VI) is used for medium-voltage switching circuits due to its abilities and advantages as a compacted environmental friendly circuit breaker. In general, the application of a sufficiently strong axial magnetic field (AMF) permits the arc to be maintained in a diffused mode to a high-current vacuum arc. A full understanding of the vacuum arc physics is very important since it can aid to improve the performance of vacuum interrupter. In order to closely examine the vacuum arc phenomena, it is necessary to predict the magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) characteristics by the multidisciplinary numerical modeling, which is coupled with the electromagnetic and hydrodynamic fields, simultaneously. In this study, we have investigated the effect of changing geometrical parameters for electromagnetic behaviors of high-current vacuum arcs with two different types of AMP contacts, which are coil-type and cup-type, using a commercial finite element analysis (FEA) package, ANSYS. The present results are compared with those of MAXWELL 3D, a reliable electromagnetic analysis software, for verification.
