The purpose of this study is to clarify the actual condition of the daily living activities of the elderly with dementia in skilled nursing facilities. The thorough investigation and observation works were made from the view points of daily living behaviors and behavioral places of the recuperating elderly with dementia in skilled nursing facilities. This article discusses about the basic characteristics of the elderly and the actual condition of the daily living activities of the elderly with dementia in 3 skilled nursing facilities. The results of this study are summarized as follows; There is no wide difference between skilled nursing facilities on the characteristic of living behaviors of the elderly with dementia. Daily living activities and the use of spaces are largely influenced by the daily program and the operation policy of each skilled nursing facilities in addition to human relationship of the elderly with dementia. Common spaces such as day room, dining room plays an important role for their daily living activities, because that most of the elderly with dementia stay long during daytime. Layout of each private room and common space seems very crucial point in designing these facilities, in order to enable demented people to live their lives more independently.

The purpose of this paper is to study and propose playground facilities for physically challenged children to cultivate adaptability in society and advances the opportunity of participate in physical exercise. This study carried out site investigations by visiting and inspecting various facilities: a recreational walking path for physically challenged people, a care facility for physically challenged children, a special school for physically challenged children, and "Madel Park", a private-use playground for physically challenged children. The result of the site investigation found that, overall, play facilities are difficult to use for physically challenged children. In addition, because park space is often small and narrow, children who are restricted to wheelchairs find it impossible to access such facilities. By carefully inspecting each of the facilities, the author found suitable elements to apply for outside play space. These elements include the introduction of an essential slope way to allow for safe movement, the provision of special seats which support the body to outside play equipment and the adaptation of treatment room instruments that assist balance to outdoor playground facilities. On the basis of the site investigation the interview and the indoor education program for physically challenged children the author completed an outside play program. Each item in this program was classified as belonging to either a "sense play" program or and "exercise play" program. Finally, the author designed suitable play equipment for physically challenged children corresponding to each item in the exercise programs in order to research the appropriateness of the equipment to its intended use. This research is the first step. From this point the author expects that specific applications will be developed through a practical space plan and sufficient clinical experiments involving use of the new equipment.

Auditorium and gymnasium are utilized in rare cases compared to the large spacial size. From Monday to Saturday, the use of them is extremely rare, which shows the serious example of economical inefficiency of architectural space. To solve these problems, inquiries from the various viewpoints will be necessary. Architecture-philosophically, how can space and time considered sufficiently? How is the structure related to phase. The object of this study is to arrange newly economical efficiency of space and time which are treated slightingly as they mentioned above and the plan about the design of the architectural space and multipurpose room.

There is a new demand for functional sharing between existing schools and neighbouring community facilities. This study is to find out the priority of the existing schools at Nowon District for functional sharing development. Most schools are located geographically near the highly populated residential district. The development will be a form of multi-use school complex. The process starts with selecting the schools located in the center of local community. Since the school facilities occupies the relatively enough space, it is possible to expand other functions for the neighbouring communities. Accordingly many citizens can utilize them because of their greater activities. This study is based on the investigation and the analysis of actual situations related to the complex development of school facilities. As a result the suitable candidate schools for the multi-use development are listed under the searched conditions.

The purpose of this study is to present direction in outdoors space planning and design after direction through user characteristic analysis through spectacle component establishment of culture art center outdoors space through on-the-site analysis and literature investigation to culture art center of Seoul city and capital region 17 places in this research. The data was collected from classification and bisection kind, subdivision kind, and great classification composed to 17 items. User satisfaction side and Variable that is looked below satisfaction than average appeared to bench, pergola, sculpture facilities, pavement facilities, border facilities. And these facilities were analyzed dissatisfaction. When see satisfaction model, when make up culture art center or similar facilities in local government hereafter because parking facilities and rest area cause big effect in satisfaction, is judged that is item to consider most preferentially. In most case, parking lot security from outdoors space, resting place security, security of field performance facilities etc. taking a serious view because tendency that users see performance or use most vehicles except neighborhood walking area for a rest, a walk etc.. is trend. But, is judged that physical side so that can feel satisfaction as space security of quantitative side is important but users utilize substantially and side that is the program are more important in hereafter.

To develop a master plan of a university campus, we need to know how students view and use their campus. For this purpose, the well-known Linch's(1960) cognitive mapping methods are used to figure out the image of Yonsei University and its surrounding area which is perceived by the students of Yonsei University. Major findings are that the cognition levels for the edge which divides Yonsei University from the surroundings and the paths which the students commute along are relatively high. The students mainly use campus space near the main gate rather than the space deep inside of the university, which shows they use the campus space unevenly. Therefore, when considering a new master plan of Yonsei University, it is needed to develop methods which increase the even use of the campus space such as developing new commuting paths.

Schools have developed together with local communities, as leading public buildings that represent local communities. Most elementary schools are located in walking distance, so that makes it possible to maintain close relationships with local residents. This study examine outside space where the school buildings are restructured for new images through public park project. The results of this research as follows. 1st, Public park project of school facilities is charge of key role to improve urban image. 2nd, Public park project of school facilities promote environmental, social and educational participation of school members. 3rd, We need to develop a outside space plan and to gather diverse opinions before we start on the Public park project of school facilities. 4th, It is important to maintain the space desirable through sharing of roles by members of schools and local communities. Public park project of school facilities has to be the center of participation, process, commune and practical use.

The purpose of this research is to analyzing the welfare function of the senior citizen with similar type of compounding the school facility, to analyze the problematical point of present condition. And also propose the spatial constitution which the student and the regional senior citizen are easy to utilize on the basis of the result. In a type of educational facility composition, it became clear that a ratio and the inflection order that elderly welfare facilities occupied of vacant class room were low. In other words, in composition of a school facilities, elderly welfare facilities can be said to be an important problem. As a result of having analyzed an existing compound facilities, there was limited interchange of student and a the aged. In addition, there were problems such as learning environment by an intersection of circulation. Therefore, composition of educational facility and elderly welfare facilities is not space composition that is intersection of simple specification function. In other words, a program of the common space which is necessary for the local community formation is necessary. Setting of semi-public area proposes the function of the existing facility and actual condition of spatial use in prerequisite.

A study of facility securement and space utilization at national universities in Korea was conducted in order to help develop an efficient model for space management at national universities going forward. For the study, 36 national universities were asked to submit answers to a questionnaire on usage of campus facilities in 2013. We then analyzed the results of space management for the 27 universities that participated in the questionnaire in each of the past three years (2011-2013). Lastly, we conducted an awareness test on the space utilization policies and space management for these universities. The results are as follows. First, the aggregate average score for space utilization over the past three years is 74.06. The annual average score increased year-over-year and then decreased; it was 69.44 in 2011, 80.68 in 2012, and 72.05 in 2013. A decline in the sense of responsibility of universities to effectively manage space appears to be a factor in the decrease. Second, with 53% of respondents in agreement, treatment of campus area as private space appears to be the biggest hurdle for efficient space management. As such, a plan to foster a more communal view of campus facility area is required. Third, resistance from constituents to existing guidelines for space allocation on campuses appears to be limited (78.1% of respondents answered the guidelines currently in place were average, satisfactory, or very satisfactory). We believe this result points to a mutual understanding forming amongst constituents regarding guidelines on space allocation on campus.results of satisfaction research: the users are generally satisfied with education and student.

The purpose of designing Haebaragi park, legally designated as children park, is to make a place for children including residents performing outdoor recreation, various social interactions, and cultural activities. Design concept for space plan have twofold; the one is a positive and creative playing space and facilities for children, escaped from a monotonous playground, and the other is a cultural and social space for neighboring communities. The site having the area of 1,316.7 square meters, located in Nowon-Dong, Buk-Gu, Daegu metropolitan City, is just like a vest pocket park. The adjacent area had been developed a slum area with mixed ad visually conflicting land use patterns and low income groups. The children and residents living in the area do not have any public space suitable for playing and/or rest. After analyzing such locational characteristic as accessibility, land use of the communities, and potentials for park development, and such design concept as arrangement of facilities, efficient use of site, and functional allocation of park space, We have mad a plan for composition of spaces for various activities, provision of facilities based on estimation of user-demand and activities, and planting. In the design process, we have tried to harmonize functional spaces with facilities, and to organize all the functions as a whole. To improve urbanity and aesthetic shape of park design, we have introduced a central plaza, design of a pave floor, a torrent, large trees for shade, colonnades and so on. From this design project, we can develop the site as a children park for increasing creativities and various playing opportunities, and as a resident space for rest, cultural activities. In the future, it is required that many attempt to design and develop urban small space as a park for children and residents.
