It is needed that nursing scholars in Korea should understand the philosophy and perspectives of oriental medicine, and then explore the possiblities of theory building which can be a Korean’s unique nursing theory. With the assumption of this kind of work can be achieved by cooperation of oriental medicine and nursing areas, this study measures the subjectivity -opinions, attitudes, and values-of professional from these two areas. Identifing the schemata(structure of subjectivity) would be a basic step for the strategies and construction of oriental nursing theory. The Q-sorts of 57 professionals were combined into five distinctive factors, namely, Q-types. The five factors were named as follows : Type I, Fundamentalist, consistently insists that the understanding of oriental medicine should be a basic step for the development of oriental nursing model, because ororiental medicine's theories and practices in curing are very unique and different from the western. Type Ⅱ, Pessimist, denies the uniqueness of oriental nursing field and its independency, because of lack of scientific evidences and professionalism. Type Ⅲ, Harmonist, believes the basic concepts in two different medic관 spheres are identical, but, at the same time, accept the uniqueness of the two. They try to propose Korean Nursing Model which accomodates local culture and conventions, and the way of Nurturing Life(Yang-sang), based on the traditional western nursing. Type W. Needy Follower, merely expects the Korean Nursing Model which considers the characteristics of Koreas culture and physical constitution and, thus, is more suitable to them. Some-times, they experience the discontent and conflict when they need more qualitative and culture-oriented nursing interventions. Type V, Alternative Giver, actully clarifies the concept of Oriental Nursing, and provides specific program as a alternative of universal western nursing. Various ways of Nurturing Life (mental, life, and diet Yang-sang) were introduced as a guideline for the specification of the nursing area and its con-tent. Throughout the study, the five different Q-factors were identified, and the concept of Oriental Nursing and aspects of its theory construetion were discussed.

This study investigates the motivations to purchase luxury brands by examining how individual characteristics (need for uniqueness, self-monitoring, and vanity) influence affective luxury brand attitudes and purchase intentions through two social function attitudes (self-expression attitude and self-presentation attitude) based on the functional theory of attitudes. On-line surveys were implemented and 314 consumers between the ages of 20 and 50 were recruited. Using SPSS 18.0 and AMOS 18.0, confirmatory factor analysis for measurements and structural equation modeling analysis for hypotheses testing were implemented. The results show that the need for uniqueness and self-monitoring by consumers have positive influences on self-expression and self-presentation attitudes toward luxury brands, respectively. The results indicate that the need by consumers for uniqueness motivates a self-expression attitude toward luxury brands and that the trait of self-monitoring motivates a self-presentation attitude toward luxury brands. Consumer vanity also positively influences both social function attitudes toward luxury brands. Self-expression and self-presentation attitudes toward luxury brands have positive influences on luxury brand purchase intentions through an affective attitude that facilitates a mediating role between two social function attitudes and the purchase intentions of consumers. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the formation process of Korean consumers' purchase intentions for luxury brands and the literature on the role of related variables (need for uniqueness, self-monitoring, vanity, self-expression, self-presentation, affective attitude, and purchase intention). The findings provide a theoretical background to launch a cross-cultural study. The conclusion discusses the practical implications and limitations.

Optimization of marine propellers of constant pitch is studied, with the help of the infinite dimensional optimization (Jang and Kinoshita, 2000a), which is based on the Hilbert space theory. As a numerical example, the MAU type propeller is considered and used as he initial guess for the optimization method. The numerical computations for an optimal marine propeller are performed for the constant pitch distribution. In addition, a new optimization is suggested with the constraint of constant pitch during optimization.

Second-order parabolic equations with variable coefficients are considered on $\mathbb{R}^d$ and $C^1$ domains. Existence and uniqueness results are given in $L_q(L_p)$-spaces, where it is allowed for the powers of summability with respect to space and time variables to be different.

In this paper, the problem on periodic solutions of the bidirectional associative memory neural networks with both periodic coefficients and periodic time-varying delays is discussed. By using degree theory, inequality technique and Lyapunov functional, we establish the existence, uniqueness, and global asymptotic stability of a periodic solution. The obtained results of stability are less restrictive than previously known criteria, and the hypotheses for the boundedness and monotonicity on the activation functions are removed.

In this article, we mainly use Nevanlinna theory to investigate some special difference equations of malmquist type such as $f^2+({\Delta}_cf)^2={\beta}^2$, $f^2+({\Delta}_cf)^2=R$, $f{^{\prime}^2}+({\Delta}_cf)^2=R$ and $f^2+(f(z+c))^2=R$, where ${\beta}$ is a nonzero small function of f and R is a nonzero rational function respectively. We prove the existence and uniqueness of classical solutions for a quasilinear delay integrodifferential equation in Banach spaces. The result is established by using the semigroup theory and the Banach fixed point theorem.

In this paper we present many interesting results such as completeness and composition theorems in the 𝛼 norm. Moreover, under some conditions, we establish the existence and uniqueness of Cⁿ-(𝜇, 𝜈) pseudo-almost automorphic solutions of class r in the 𝛼-norm for some partial functional differential equations in Banach space when the delay is distributed. An example is given to illustrate our results.
