  • Ultra High Definition(hereafter UHD), Next-generation video technology, was quickening in the request of many years of the recipient and the authors who have been towards the higher sense of reality. The change of the medium has resulted in a mutation in the detailed content and the point of view overlooking the world as evidenced through the history. Thus the emergence of UHD will also be expected to require to manufacture unique technology. Therefore, this paper, especially in the documentary among the video content, tries to study the changes in the manufacturing process by UHD video technology. Moreover UHD video screen technology such as high resolution tries to analyse for the fitness for purpose of the documentary that transmission of the accuracy and the change from a documentary video production. In addition, I try to explore the improvement in the choice of shooting material expected to be a problem, even for the advance of the work on the second half and backup according to the enormous data. We derive the developmental aspects that UHD video technology in documentary production is brought about by the research plan described above. It is intended to contribute to the development of content production with the development of technology.

  • It has passed the era of Full High Definition Television (FHD) and ended the era of Ultra High Definition Television (UHD). We will talk about the problems caused by the difference in the number of pixels in the TVs and introduce a method to improve them. This method is a method of performing an interpolation method suitable for a given image with Weighted Essential Non-Oscillation (WENO). Thus, it is possible to reduce the distortion of the image and to ensure a better image quality. Therefore, if we use the WENO methodology, when we watch old video material on UHD TV, we can enjoy high definition of UHD TV without changing the number of pixels.

  • In this paper, a lego-type Ultra High Definition(UHD) media platform for cloud service have been proposed. The platform offers you a cloud service, which is freely able to share your UHD media in indoor and outdoor environment. Also, if various media products using the next-generation wireless communication(802.11ac and LTE Broadcast etc.) and proposed platform are utilized, everyone can develop easily because it is the lego-type. Therefore, the platform are expected to lead development of new market and invent industry since it can be applied to various businesses models.

  • UHD(Ultra High Definition) broadcasting is an attractive next-generation service of realistic broadcasting that enables you to feels like listening on the spot in ultra-high definition resolution. In addition, the test broadcasting run by UHD broadcasting agencies and UHDTV terminal launch could herald the full-scale UHD broadcasting era. However, in order that UHD broadcasting will be activated, the function of conditional access control and information protection through which we can on pay per view watch the programs of subscriber preference from the channels of various and subdivided genres is essential. To provide a technical foundation for these features and to achieve the UHD TV transition early, determining technology development & standardization strategy through the analysis of the key protection technologies is required In this paper, we propose standardization technologies which our country can lead and present a long-term driving directions by analyzing UHD broadcasting technology & test broadcasting trends and content protection technology & standardization trends.

  • UHD(Ultra High Definition) 관련기술이 성숙되면서 최근 UHD 방송은 HD(High Definition) 방송 이후 차세대 실감 방송 서비스로 확고하게 자리를 잡아 가고 있다. 이러한 영향으로 UHDTV를 중심으로 UHD 방송장비의 상용화가 점차 확대되고 있고, 국내외 여러 방송사업자들은 서비스 상용화 준비를 서두르고 있다. CJ헬로비전을 포함한 국내 케이블 방송사들은 유일하게 UHD 방송 표준화를 조기에 완료하였고 이를 기반으로 상용 서비스를 준비해 왔기에 세계최초로 2014년 4월에 4K-UHD 방송을 상용화한다. 케이블 방송에서 UHD 방송의 조기 상용화와 표준화는 전송방식의 변경이나 네트워크에 대한 대규모 투자가 없이 UHD 방송을 쉽게 제공할 수 있는 구조이기 때문에 가능했다. UHD 방송은 방송산업 가치사슬의 전 부분에 걸쳐 영향을 주기 때문에 케이블의 4K-UHD 방송 상용화를 계기로 국내 방송산업의 활성화에 기여할 것이다. 본 고에서는 세계최초로 상용화 하는 CJ헬로비전의 케이블 4K-UHD 방송 서비스와 케이블 UHD 방송 표준에 대해서 알아본다.

  • Recently signal transmission of ultra high-definition(4K-UHD) video system is transferred as uncompressed high speed data. However, this has a limit to compose the system because EMI between separate cables of high speed interface section and skew bring distortion of the video signal and jitter. In this paper we applied V-by-One HS interface technique to transfer uncompressed high speed data. We analyzed HSD(High Speed Differential) transmission line signal integrity. Also we applied RF transmission technique instead of UHD video pattern control interface PCB design. When we measured V-by-One HS video signal of designed 4K-UHD class signal generator, We found that the transmission performance has been signal standard.

  • This paper introduces the world's first programmable video-processing platform for the enhancement of the video quality of the 8K(7680x4320) UHD(Ultra High Definition) TV operating up to 60 frames per second. In order to support required computing capacity and memory bandwidth, the proposed platform implemented several key features such as symmetric multi-cluster architecture for parallel data processing, a ring-data path between the clusters for data pipelining and hardware accelerators for computing filter operations. The proposed platform based on RP(Reconfigurable Processor) processes video quality enhancement algorithms and handles effectively new UHD broadcasting standards and display panels.

  • With the help of fast growing multimedia technology and high preference for users of large screens, the newest video coding standard, HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) high-quality video compression), has been introduced. Therefore, the high definition image services which are four times more clear than conventional HD video, are getting popular. JPEG 2000 also has stated to support 4K and 8K UHD. As a result, it requires fast processing technology to read and write UHD images. This paper introduces a study on fast parallel processing technology for UHD images. For this purpose, first, JPEG 2000 is reviewed and a GPU based parallel implementation is proposed for a preprocessing of color conversion stage. The parallelled algorithm is implemented with OpenCL (Open Computing Language). The simulation results show that the proposed method shows 5 times performance improvements on processing speed for 4K UHD over the method using threads.

  • 최근 가정용 TV 를 포함한 비디오 디스플레이 기기는 HD(High Definition)에서 UHD(Ultra High Definition)로 급속하게 전환되고 있다. DTV 방송의 경우 한국은 HDR(High Dynamic Range)이 제외된 UHDTV 지상파 방송을 시작하였고 북미 MVPD(Multiple Video Program Distributor) 사업자들은 HDR 서비스를 먼저 도입하기 시작하였다. 기존 full HD 보다 4 배 이상의 해상도를 지원하는 UHD 는 HDR 과 WCG(Wide Color Gamuit)를 제외하고 논할 수 없다. 본 고에서는 해외의 디스플레이 인증 기관에서 적용하고 있는 UHD 디스플레이 디바이스에 대한 화질 평가 기술에 대하여 소개한다.
