  • In this paper, we study dynamical Bifurcation of the Burgers-Fisher equation. We show that the equation bifurcates an invariant set ${\mathcal{A}}_n({\beta})$ as the control parameter ${\beta}$ crosses over $n^2$ with $n{\in}{\mathbb{N}}$. It turns out that ${\mathcal{A}}_n({\beta})$ is homeomorphic to $S^1$, the unit circle.

  • In this paper, it is described how the problems appeared at the previous proto type sensor are improved. As changing the pressure and temperature of engine oil in a test rig, the modified sensor is tested. Then, the measured results of capacitance and the corresponding dielectric constants under various temperatures and pressures are shown. It turns out that the electrical signal gotten from the electrodes of newly developed sensor can be more stable under the various operating conditions.

  • A statistical analysis for detecting deviations from normal magnetic field intensities, caused by the introduction of magnetite materials into man-made fissures and cracks at subsurface levels is presented. For detecting such deviations it turns out the comparison of two different field measurements measured at two different sites far from each other is more efficient than the study of the only measurement by the univariate and bivariate time series analysis.

  • Todd series are associated to maximal non-degenerate lattice cones. The coefficients of Todd series of a particular class of lattice cones are closely related to generalized Dedekind sums of higher dimension. We generalize this construction and obtain an explicit formula for coefficients of the Todd series. It turns out that every maximal non-degenerate lattice cone, hence the associated Todd series can be obtained in this way.

  • Sextic moment problems with an infinite algebraic variety are still widely open. We study the problem with a single cubic column relation associated to 3 parallel lines in which the variety is infinite. It turns out that this specific column relation has a strong connection with moment problems that have a symmetric algebraic variety. We present more concrete solutions to some sextic moment problems with a symmetric variety.

  • Centered modified systematic sampling (CMSS)' was proposed by Kim(1985) for estimating the mean of a population with a linear trend. In the present paper a version of this sampling method is suggested. This version turns out to be efficient in the same degree as the original method from the viewpoint of the expected mean square error criterion. It is also shown to be quite an efficient method as compared with other existing methods. An illustrative example is given.

  • In recent years, the size of data set which we usually handle is enormous, so a lot of outliers could be included in data set. Therefore the robust procedures that automatically handle outliers become very importance issue. We consider the robust estimation problem of location parameter in the univariate case. In this paper, we propose a new method for defining robustness weights for the weighted mean based on the median distance of observations and compare its performance with several existing robust estimators by a simulation study. It turns out that the proposed method is very competitive.

  • In this article, we introduce a new class of product codes based on convolutional codes, called convolutional product codes. The structure of product codes enables parallel decoding, which can significantly increase decoder speed in practice. The use of convolutional codes in a product code setting makes it possible to use the vast knowledge base for convolutional codes as well as their flexibility in fast parallel decoders. Just as in turbo codes, interleaving turns out to be critical for the performance of convolutional product codes. The practical decoding advantages over serially-concatenated convolutional codes are emphasized.

  • This paper discusses an approach to real-time path-planning of mobile robot navigating amidst multiple obstacles. Given an environment with the coordinates of known obstacles, the moving area of a mobile robot is divided into many patches of triangles with small edge length, in order to ensure a path better than those reported in the literature. After finding a minimum-distance to minimize the number of turns and total path-length by two-step path-revision and path-smmothing.
