교통수단 선택행태 분석을 위한 태도모형의 적용 및 평가 (Application and Evaluation of An Attitudinal Model for Travel Mode Choice Behavior Analysis)

  • In order to analyze travel mode choice behavior, behavioral models including logit model, based on revealed preference theory, have been using easily measurable variables such as individual socioeconomic characteristics and physical attributes of travel modes. But some recent attitudinal models of travel choice behavior have implied that the negligence of individual psychological variables and individual choice constraints in travel mode choice might preclude better prediction of individual travel mode choice behavior. In this context, this study was attempted to reconstruct an attitudinal model(AM), especially focused on the decision rules in travel mode choice decision making process, consistent with the conceptual framework relating individual attitude and choice constraints to choice behavior. And to evaluate the strengths of the AM to other comparative models(logit, linear-additive, conjunctive, lexicographic model) in predicting travel mode choice bebavior, an empirical study of the mode choice in work-trip to CBD in Seoul was performed. According to the results the percent of correct prediction(PCP) derived from the AM was higher than those derived from comparative models by at least 7 to 20% in predicting travel mode choice. But each model produced a different prediction accuracy depending on market segmentation by travel modal users, individual socioeconomic characteristics, transportation system characteristics, and satisfaction levels. The finding that different groups divided by a certain criterion employ different decision rules supports the necessity of developing a choice model such as the AM combining compensatory and noncompensatory decision rules, and suggests that a proposed transportation system management plan or policy may have different effects on each group.

노선선택행태의 모형화 (Modeling of the Route Choice Behavior)

  • The multinomial logit model has been applied for various choice problems. Among others, the joint destination mode choice, the mode choice and the route choice are the three major modeling topics for korean transportation planners. This paper examines with real world data (the Olympic road and its competing two major arterials) the usefulness of a Logit route choice model. Quites surpisingly, it is found that the multinomial route choice behavioral model calibrated for this study based on (0,1) individula data base can not provide a good estimate for O-D trips less than 6㎞. 400data points and 3case studies might not be sufficient for a sound conclusion. It is, however, believed from a series of similar studies conducted by the authors that the route choice behavior is more sensitive (more demand elastic with respect to travel time changes) than the mode choice and the shorter trip, the more sensitive. The travel time parameters for destination choice models are usually smalle than the travel time parameters for mode choice models and these parameters (for mode choice models) turn our smaller than the travel time parameters for route choice models from this study. Table 2 in this paper shows parameter changes for three different markets and Table 3 shows the modeling errors when the estimated individual probabilities are aggregated into a route level.

지역간 수단선택에 있어서 확률적 후회 최소화 모형의 적용 연구 (Application of Random Regret Minimization Model in the Context of Intercity Travel Mode Choice)

  • 통행자 수단선택 연구에는 확률 효용 최대화 원칙(RUM)에 입각한 다항로짓모형이 주로 사용되어졌다. 그러나 최근 들어 RUM 원칙을 대신할 대안적 방법론의 제시가 이루어지고 있으며, 이러한 대안적 방법의 하나로 제시된 것이 확률적 후회 이론모형(RRM)이다. 본 연구는 지역간 통행자의 수단선택 행태를 모사함에 있어 RRM 모형을 적용하고, RUM 원칙을 적용한 다항로짓모형의 구축결과와 비교를 통하여 RRM 모형의 적용가능성을 검토하였다. 분석결과, RUM 모형과 RRM 모형 모두 모수 추정결과는 직관과 부합하는 결과를 보였으며, 모형의 자료 적합도는 RUM 모형보다 RRM 모형이 조금 더 높게 도출되었다. 결론적으로 자료적합성 측면에서 RRM 모형이 RUM 모형보다 낫다고 판단할 수 있으나, 아직 일부 사례에만 검토되어졌기 때문에 추후 경로선택, 화물 운송수단 선택 등 더 많은 통행자의 선택상황에 대한 추가적인 검토가 필요하다고 하겠다.

네스티드로짓모형을 이용한 쇼핑통행의 형태분석에 관한 연구

  • In general, Shopping centers are located in the center of transportation, which induce more traffic concentration than other facilities. As a result, it becomes to one of the aggravating factors of urban & transportation problem such as traffic conjestion, parking problems. Thus, in planning shopping-center, it is desirable that consumer\`s trip pattern is should lie more carefully analyzed in order to alleviate the above problems. This study is aimed at finding the characteristics of shopping tripes and analyzing the choice behavior of shopping center and mode-to-shop. This study has developed a nested logit model in which consumers choose shopping center and mode-to-shop with a sequential structure. The model was estimated using household data from the 1989 May, Seoul metropolitan area and the 18 alternatives of shopping center and 5 mode alternatives. The estimated model have been evaluated and it may be concluded that this model for shopping trips is effective and fesible. The conclusion of this study are as fellows. 1. Out-of-vehicle travel time is more important factor affecting behavior of mode choice than in-vehicle travel time. 2. All of direct-elasticities for mode with respect to the travel time is more elastic than travel cost. 3. Accessibility to shop is more important factor affecting the choice of shopping center than parking space. 4. The value of out-of-vehicle travel time exceeds the value of in-vesicle travel time by 1.64 times.

서울시의 주차 및 대중교통 이용여건이 통행목적별 교통수단 선택에 미치는 영향 (Impacts of the Accessibility of Parking and Public Transportation on Mode Choice by Trip Purpose in the city of Seoul)

  • 본 연구에서는 통행목적별 교통수단을 선택하는 데에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 다를 것이라고 판단하고, 교통수단을 결정하는 과정을 단계별로 구분하여 그 요인들의 영향을 찾아보았다. 변수들로는 개인의 사회경제적 속성과 목적지와 거주지에서 대중교통수단 결절점 접근성, 그리고 승용차 이용여건 등으로 설정하였다. 분석결과 통행자는 통행목적과 상관없이 교통수단을 선택하는 데에 통행시간을 크게 고려하고 있어서, 통행시간이 길수록 대중교통수단을 선택하고, 환승을 감수하며, 버스보다는 지하철을 선택한다. 승용차 여부를 선택 시에는 차량이용 여건과 목적지의 주차용이성을 고려하며, 대중교통수단 선택이후에는 대중교통 결절점 접근성의 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 통행목적간 비교에서는 통근통행에서는 목적지에서의 주차와 차량이용 여건이 좋을수록 승용차를, 쇼핑 및 여가통행에서는 주거지에서의 버스 및 지하철의 접근성에 따라서 대중교통수단을 선택할 확률이 높게 나타났다.

다수단 가변수요 통행배정문제를 위한 부분선형화 알고리즘의 성능비교 (A Performance Comparison of the Partial Linearization Algorithm for the Multi-Mode Variable Demand Traffic Assignment Problem)

  • Investment scenarios in the transportation network design problem usually contain installation or expansion of multi-mode transportation links. When one applies the mode choice analysis and traffic assignment sequentially for each investment scenario, it is possible that the travel impedance used in the mode choice analysis is different from the user equilibrium cost of the traffic assignment step. Therefore, to estimate the travel impedance and mode choice accurately, one needs to develop a combined model for the mode choice and traffic assignment. In this paper, we derive the inverse demand and the excess demand functions for the multi-mode multinomial logit mode choice function and develop a combined model for the multi-mode variable demand traffic assignment problem. Using data from the regional O/D and network data provided by the KTDB, we compared the performance of the partial linearization algorithm with the Frank-Wolfe algorithm applied to the excess demand model and with the sequential heuristic procedures.

이분산 로짓모형의 추정과 적용 (Development and Application of the Heteroscedastic Logit Model)

  • 로짓모형은 선택대안에 대한 확률 계산이 용이하고, 설명변수의 파라메타 추정이 용이하기 때문에 교통 수단 선택모형으로 널리 쓰여지고 있다. 그러나 이러한 로짓모형은 수단선택 효용함수의 오차항 분포가 선택 대안간에 독립적이고, 그 분산이 동일하다는(IID:Independent and Identically Distributed)가정을 내포한다. 본 연구는 수단선택 효용오차의 분산이 수단간에 동일하다는 가정을 완화시키는 이분산 로짓모형 추정에 관한 연구이다. 수단선택 효용오차항의 동분산성을 극복함으로써 보다 현실적인 통행자의 수단선택행태를 반영하는 로짓모형을 추정하는데 본 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 로짓모형 오차항의 분산과 직접적인 관련이 있는 규모인자(scale factor)를 도입하였다. 이는 대중 교통과 승용차의 통행시간차이에 따른 이분산성을 고려하도록 정의되었으며, 이를 통행시간 파라메타 추정에 활용하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 이분산 로짓모형의 추정 결과. 통행자의 통행시간이 증가하면서 대중교통수단과 승용차의 통행시간차이가 동일하더라도 통행자의 대중교통 수단선택확률이 차이를 보임으로 현실적인 통행자의 수단선택 행태를 반영하는 것으로 판명되었다.

선호의식데이타에 의한 교통수단선택 모델의 특성 (The Characteristics of Mode Choice Model by Stated Preference Data)

  • In recent year, especially in the mode choice analysis, it has been perceived that the importance of individual performance data using stated preference(SP) experiments as well as revealed preference data . Since SP experiments present respondent with various hypothetical alternatives, which are produced by a combination of a number of different attribute levels, and ask them to indicate a preference, it is possible to analyze travel behavior under a situation of potential environment change such as proposed alternative mode of transportation. The basic problems, however, remains that SP are not consistent with the actual travel behaviors and the research reports for stability of mode choice model using SP data has not been sufficient. Under this background, this study is to examine the characteristics of mode choice model using the SP data by the following items. $\circled1$ Analysis of factors affecting the mode choice behavior by the variance analysis of orthogonal-arrays-table $\circled2$ The reliability of SP data by transfer intention data $\circled3$ The stability of SP responses obtained from repetitive question by the comparison of model coefficient specified by each repetitive data. $\circled4$ The stability of ranking data in mode choice model For the analysis, we assumed subway operations in the Gwang-Ju , and set up a choice-set of hypothetical options based on Experimental Design Method.

Analyzing the Difference between the Stated Preference and the Revealed Preference before/after the High-speed Rail Service in Korea

  • The Korean high-speed rail (HSR) began its commercial service in 2004. This service has been created significant changes in the system of intercity passenger travels of Korea. However, the actual ridership was approximately half of the estimated one in the planning stage. In this background, this paper presents the difference between the stated preference (SP) before the HSR service and the revealed preference (RP) after it using the intercity travel mode choice models. Several meaningful differences are found in terms of the factors affecting the travel mode choice, the estimation results of model, the monetary values of time, and elasticities. While the access/egress travel time of high-speed rail is less important than in-vehicle travel time in the SP sample, they have same weight in the RP sample. Also the RP models show that the probability of choosing HSR can be decreased by the increase of the number of vehicles in household contrary to the results from the SP models. The monetary values of travel time are relatively high and the direct and cross elasticities in response to changes in level-of-service of HSR are relatively low in the RP sample. This Korean case is expected to offer referable material for preparing high-speed rail services in other countries by showing the difference between the SP and RP before/after the actual service, identifying the importance of access/egress travel time and lower direct elasticities of HSR demand.

아세안지역의 국가간 여객통행수요 추정모형 구축에 관한 연구 (Development of International Passenger Travel Demand Models for the ASEAN Region)

  • 기존의 아세안지역 국가간 여객통행수요예측에 있어 적용된 방법론은 자료의 한계로 인하여 모형을 이용하기보다는 개략적인 분석방법론과 가정위주로 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 아세안 지역의 국가간 여객통행 수요예측을 위해 개발된 모형을 제시한다. 통행발생과 통행분포 모형을 개별적으로 추정하기에는 해당지역의 통계자료구축이 미흡한 상태이기 때문에 국가간 출입국 통계자료를 이용하여 통행발생과 통행분포를 동시에 고려하는 직접수요모형을 개발하였다. 또한 현재 연구대상지역의 경우 국가간 통행에 대한 수단선택모형이 존재하지 않기 때문에 본 연구에서는 수단분담율 산정을 위해 명시선호기법을 이용하여 수단분담모형을 추정하였다. 통행거리에 따른 수단선택행태의 차이를 반영하기 위해 세 개의 거리대로 구분하여 수단분담모형을 추정하였다. 추정결과 모형의 설명력과 변수의 유의성 측면에서 대체적으로 양호한 결과가 도출되었다. 본 연구에서 구축한 모형은 향후 아세안지역의 통행수요예측에 있어 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
