The purpose of the study was to investigate the perception and the knowledge of the Korean traditional foods in elementary school students. For the investigation, 373 fifth-grade elementary school students in Incheon were surveyed by a questionnaire, and the data were analized by the SPSS 10.0 program. The result showed that 85% of the surveyed schoolchildren showed the interest in the Korean traditional foods. It also revealed that female students are more interested in the traditional food than male students and the children of the career woman are more interested than those of the housewives. As for the motive of their interest, 39.7% of the subjects answered 'through mass media'. Male students and the children of the housewives got the interest through their mother, and female students and the children of the career woman got the interest through their hobby of cooking food. Among the traditional foods, 76.4% of the children designated kimchi as the most proud traditional food. As for the reasons of reducing traditional food use, 39.9% of students responded because of 'not-tasty' and 28.7% of students replied because of 'not enough time to cook'. But 62.2% of the subjects thought the traditional foods should be more used in the future. As for the succession and development of the traditional foods, 33.8% of the subjects said it should be carried out by the family. The basic knowledge score of the traditional foods was 5.78 on a scale of 10, which showed relatively low level. The lower their basic knowledge, the less their interest in the traditional foods was. The samgyetang, ogokbap and bindaetteok were the most perceived traditional foods. The cheonggukjang, nabakgimchi and jindallaehwajeon were the foods they had seen, but the they didnot have heard or seen the others. Among the traditional foods, susugyeongdan, jindallaehwajeon and dasik were more perceived by the schoolchildren in the rural area than those in the urban area. The jindallaehwajeon and dasik were more perceived by female students than by male students. Therefore, in order to make elementary schoolchildren take the traditional foods with pride by increasing their perception and knowledge of them, the family should give them many opportunities to eat traditional foods. The school also should try to establish a cooperative relationship to the family of schoolchilderen and use more Korean traditional foods in the school's meal program. Furthermore, the society's concern and support are necessary and also the role of mass media, which have great influence on children, is important.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of depression, discomfort, spirituality, physical care, and opioid use on pain with terminally ill cancer patients residing in hospice units. The convenient sample of this study consisted of 41 terminally ill cancer patients at three hospice units in university affiliated hospitals. Patients were interviewed with structured questionnaires three times at predetermined intervals: admission to the hospice unit (Time 1), one week later (Time 2), and two weeks later (Time 3). The data was collected from January 1998 to January 1999 and was analyzed using ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, and multivariate multiple regression. 1. The mean age of the participants was approximately 55 years old. In terms of diagnosis, lung cancer showed the highest frequency (19.5%), followed by stomach cancer and rectal cancer (17.1%). The motive of seeking hospice unit admission was control (72. 2%), followed by spiritual care (50%), and symptom relief (38.9%). 2. Regarding the type of pain felt, the highest pain frequency the participants experienced was deep pain (55%), followed by multiple pain (25%), intestinal pain (10%), then superficial (5%) and neurogenic pain (5%). For the level of pain measured by VAS, there was no significant difference among the three time points; Time 1 (5.04$\pm$2.21), Time 2 (4.82$\pm$2.58) and Time 3(4.73$\pm$2.51). 3. There was significant change seen in spirituality and physical care in each time interval. Namely, the longer the length of admission at the hospice unit, the higher the importance of spirituality (p=0.0001) and the more the physical care the participants received (p=0.01). The opioid use at the three time points showed the following frequencies : Time 1 (75.6%), Time 2 (85.4%) and Time 3 (75.6%). 4. Regarding factors influencing pain, the pain level was significantly affected by the depression level (p〈0.01) and the opioid use (p〈0.1). These results were the most significant at the two time points (Time 1 and Time 2). At Time 3 (two weeks later), the pain level was significantly affected by the depression level (p〈0.05) and the amount of physical care the participants received (p〈0.1). In conclusion, the terminally ill cancer patients had moderate pain, were generally depressed, and were treated with opioid analgesics. As approaching death, the patients received more physical care due to increased physical symptoms experienced and they had a higher perception of the importance of spirituality. Thus, health care professionals need to provide continuous care for each of them to die comfortably physically, psycho- logically, and spiritually.
This study started from my concern over maintenance and renewal of existing buildings and other seriously damaged Modern Architecture under the urban development. Above all, we must face up to reality of an increasing need of renovation of old buildings that are in its physical, social, and economical decrepitude. Currently, 25% of total buildings come under renovation period within 20 years, which means that we do not have enough time to decide the destiny of old buildings. In the city, there has been endless controversy over conversation and development. Recently the Cultural property Registration System made it possible a positive usage of non-designated cultural property with historical value. This very useful system renewed our perception on Modern Architecture as cultural property and also triggered peoples' interest in recreating new value beyond economical one. So we really need a balanced view that can bring into both growth of contemporary city and renewal use of Modern Architecture. Here, in this study I tried to solve that problem with Conversion Design and define what a realistic design way for them is. To get more reasonable result, I chose a factor analysis for 20 conversion projects in Japanese Modern Architecture. Conversion Design is a proper way to restore the identity of old buildings and the most effective way to sustainable use of Modern Architecture.
Online or e-banking has been adopted as key banking innovation in Uganda adopted by all financial institutions in the country. This research explored the state of e-banking and its efficacy in Uganda banking industry. A correlation analysis approach was adopted for this research. In Uganda, the banking sector has been liberalized with telecommunications allowed to effect e-banking and ecommerce transactions. The study concentrated on the periods of years 2011/2012 and 2012/2013. Findings from this research revealed that BOU uses UNISS for real time gross settlement (RTGS). Since its adoption a +1 coefficient correlation was realized. With the use of mobile money, also a +1 coefficient correlation was achieved for the period under consideration. As regards the use of e-cheques, there was a drop reflected by -2.8 percent which could have been attributed to perception of the users, though there was a +1 coefficient correlation when considering e-cheque transactions and the monetary value. The use of EFT in Uganda generated a +1 coefficient correction considering the number of users and the monetary value involved. Bank of Uganda should work hard and make or go live with electronic banking supervision software which would aid them with their supervisory roles.
The movie costume's function and the role can be defined by reflection of the society and the times, character portrayal, conveyance of image, and creation of fashion. Korean movie costumes have been differentiated from 1950s till 1990s in time period and the results of comparison between the times as follow : Movie and fashion hold same period in common so that sense of fashion is naturally contained in the movie costume. Therefore, excluding special movie that costumes are selected by designer, such kind of trend is notable in the times when costumes mostly selected by actors themselves. Most movie costumes are not designed after predicting up coming fashion by considering movie producing time so that notation between current fashion and fashion in the movie and mostly we see about one year behind fashion style. For FAD, fashion that quickly passes in each season can use costumes in fashion, considering movie producing time and time background, that it lack of trend of fashion in the movie. Korean movie industry lack of having perception of people who are in charge of taking care of movie so that costumes are not properly taken care of and uses only 5% of total movie producing cost. Such that kind having lack of preception and treatment of movie costumes can't expect development of movie costumes.

Currently, the pedestrian signal timing model has no consideration on the characteristics of different land use patterns and pedestrian behaviors during pedestrian signal timing calculation. This study intended to propose pedestrian signal timing models that could reflect the inherent characteristics of pedestrian and land use patterns. For this study, three major variables affecting the length of signal timing were identified: walking speed, perception-reaction time, and density-delay time. Then, the representative values of each variable were estimated through the field studies. By combining this information, several pedestrian signal timing models were developed. The data in this paper can be used for future references, and the walking environments for pedestrians could be improved by applying the models suggested in this paper.
Recently, RGB images and depth maps have been supplied to academic fields. The depth maps are utilized to the generation of stereoscopic images in the diverse formats according to the users' preference. A variety of methods that use depth maps have been introduced so far. One of applications is a medical field. In this area, the improvement of the perceptual quality of 2D medical images has gained much interest. In this paper, we propose a novel scheme that expands the conventional method to 3D stereoscopic image, thereby achieving the perceptual depth quality improvement as well as 3D stereoscopic perception enhancement at the same time. For this, contrast transformation as well as depth darkening are proposed and their performance is validated through the subjective test. Subjective experiments peformed for stereoscopic enhancement as well as visual fatigue validate that the proposed method achieves better 3D perception than the usage of the original stereoscopic image and suggests the limitation in terms of the visual fatigue.
In smart era, concept of User experience has been an important issue both in academic and practical areas in recent years. Interactive space became one of the major design paradigms. For elevating the interactive effect, we need user?centered design methodology which uses the influential factors on the interactivity. As, well developed information technology made a lot of changes to various fields of our society, interactive space with the concept of HCI became a big issue in environmental design field. In this interactive space, various types of informative factors of the given space are sent using sensor and computer networking technology to the main system. So, a user's movement in the space in more than just a movement itself-user's movement now forms a important spatial structure that leads the narrative of the space. in this research, I will come up with the problems that the interactive space has right now, and analyze what the public space must have, and combine them with interactive space by HCI theory. architecture space is not the old space adapting digital technology. In order to take the role as new space paradigm. environment and technology, it has to develop technology continuously and experimental space at the same time. It must have co-evolution of architecture space field and others through organic network. by that, the evolution of space will be in the way that combines space which is responded to human emotion and user centric human friendly.
This study is to identify different patterns of childhood's smart media literacy and to predict factors relating to smart media literacy behaviors. Also, the purpose of the present study is to examine parents' and teachers' mediation of childhood's smart media literacy. The data were collected from 400 elementary students in Korea and we presented two patterns of smart media literacy : perception literacy, critical literacy. The results showed positive relationships between perception literacy and parental active and passive mediation. And a teacher's active and passive mediation was positively associated with children's perception literacy. In addition, the results of this study showed that parental active and passive mediation also affected the critical literacy. It was found that there were significant differences in sociological characteristics like in gender, school year, spending time, a double income family on smart media literacy. This suggests that a parent's active and passive mediation may lead to activate children's smart media use.
Many studies have been conducted for a relatively short period of time since the introduction of flipped learning in the country. However, most research focuses on the ways of flipped learning and its efficiency, hence, the perception of the teacher about flipped learning has not been studied yet. In this study, to investigate the teacher's perception of flipped learning, 1,038 teachers conducted the survey which consists of three areas such as their understandings of flipped learning, their using patterns and their expectations of flipped learning in the future. The results showed that teacher's understanding and using state of flipped learning was not that high. Also, they were very cautious of using flipped learning for their class. Based on the results, the activation plans of flipped Learning were also proposed.
