THIRD HANKEL DETERMINANTS FOR STARLIKE AND CONVEX FUNCTIONS OF ORDER ALPHA

  • In this paper we obtain the bounds of the third Hankel determinants for the classes $\mathcal{S}^*({\alpha})$ of starlike functions of order ${\alpha}$ and $\mathcal{K}({\alpha}$) of convex functions of order ${\alpha}$. Moreover,we derive the sharp bounds for functions in these classes which are additionally 2-fold or 3-fold symmetric.

과소제동 공정제어시스템의 식별에 대한 연구 (A Study on the Identification of Underdamped Process Control System)

  • A new analytic method for the identification of process control system is presented. A second and a third order transfer function are considered as the estimated model function. For the second order transfer function, the new method is compared with the exisiting ones, simulation results show that the new method is superior to the existing ones. And also, In case of the third order transfer function which is difficult to analyze mathematically, system identification is tried.

주파수합성기의 Phase Noise 예측 및 3차 PLL 시스템에서의 1/f Noise Modeling (The Phase Noise prediction and the third PLL systems on 1/f Noise Modeling of Frequency Synthesizer)

  • 본 논문에서는 주파수합성기에서 가장 큰 잡음원인 VCO 및 각 단에서 발생하는 위상잡음 의 offset주파수에 따른 변화를 예측하기 위해 2303.15MHz의 주파수합성기를 설계하고 Lascari의 예측방법 을 이용하여 모델링 하였다. 또한, VCO에서 발생되는 여러 중첩 형태로 된 위상잡음중 저주파대역에서 문제가 되는 1/f noise를 3차 시스템에서 분석하였다. 3차 시스템에서는 해석이 복잡하므로 수학적인 분석을 통하여 1/f noise를 예측한다는 것이 어렵지만 pseudo-damping factor의 도입으로 3차 시스템에서의 1/f noise variance의 해석이 용이 하도록 시도하였고 이를 2차 시스템과 비교.분석하였다. 그 결과, tcxo의 경우 위상잡음이 루프 통과 전 10 kHz offset 주파수에서 -160dBc/Hz, 루프 통과 후 -162.6705dBc/Hz, 100 kHz offset 주파수에서 -180dBc/Hz, 루프 통과 후 -560dBc/Hz로 VCO의 위상잡음에 비해 offset주파수에 따라 루프 통과 후 급격히 감쇠 됨을 알 수 있었다. 2차와 3차 시스템에서의 잡음대역폭과 그 variance factor를 연관하여 3차 시스템에서 의 variance가 2차 시스템의 variance보다 크게 발생함을 알 수 있었다.

VM 열펌프의 3차해석 (A Third-order analysis of VM heat pumps)

  • A third-order simulation model of VM heat pumps has been developed. This model allows consideration of the major losses such as heat conduction losses through regenerators and displacers, pumping losses and wall-to-gas heat transfer losses in working volumes, in addition to the heat exchanger and regenerator losses. The working volume was divided into 12 control volumes and conservation equations of mass and energy were applied to each control volume. Pressure drop was considered in regenerators only. Thermodynamic behavior of working fluid in a VM heat pump was investigated and effects of major losses on the performance of a VM heat pump were shown.

Numerical Solutions of Third-Order Boundary Value Problems associated with Draining and Coating Flows

  • Some computational fluid dynamics problems concerning the thin films flow of viscous fluid with a free surface and draining or coating fluid-flow problems can be delineated by third-order ordinary differential equations. In this paper, the aim is to introduce the numerical solutions of the boundary value problems of such equations by variational iteration method. In this paper, it is shown that the third-order boundary value problems can be written as a system of integral equations, which can be solved by using the variational iteration method. These solutions are gleaned in terms of convergent series. Numerical examples are given to depict the method and their convergence.

  • In this paper, we address a new time delay estimation method using third-order statistics and subband adaptive filtering to improve the accuracy of target detection for acoustic backscattered signals in a noise interference environment. Each reference and primary signals are decorrelated using the multiresolution analysis framework through a M-band discrete wavelet transform(M-DWT). Then noise effect can be reduced. Here, time delays are estimated iteratively in each subband using two different adaptation mechanisms that minimize the mean squared error (MSE) between the references and primary signal. More specifically, third-order cumulants and projection cross-correlation(PCC) criterion are utilized to achieve an effective SNR improvement for the time delay estimation.

  • We present a semilocal convergence analysis of a third order method for approximating a locally unique solution of an equation in a Banach space setting. Recently, this method was studied by Chun, Stanica and Neta. These authors extended earlier results by Kou, Li and others. Our convergence analysis extends the applicability of these methods under less computational cost and weaker convergence criteria. Numerical examples are also presented to show that the earlier results cannot apply to solve these equations.

  • 지금까지 광학설계에서 사용되던 등가렌즈 변환은 렌즈가 공기중에 있다는 전제조건하에서 유도 되었기 때문에 접합렌즈계의 설계에서 부적절한 해를 얻는 경우가 있었다. 본 연구에서는 두꺼운 렌즈에서 등가렌즈로의 변환 및 이의 역변환과정을 어떠한 전제조건도 사용하지 않도록 일반화하였으며 일반화된 등가렌즈에 대한 3차수차식을 유도하였다. 일반화된 등가렌즈 변환을 2매 접합렌즈와 3매 접합렌즈의 변환에 적용시켜 본 결과, 일반화된 등가렌즈 변환이 두꺼운 렌즈의 3차수차를 잘 근사하고 있음을 확인하였다.

변류기 2차전류의 포화 여부 판단 알고리즘 (An Algorithm for Detecting CT Saturation)

  • This paper presents an algorithm for detecting current transformer (CT) saturation. At the instants of beginning (or end) of saturation, as a magnetizing inductance of the core is changed significantly, the shapes of the secondary current are also changed significantly though secondary currents are continuous the instants. At the instants, the second-order of third-order difference of the secondary current has big values. Thus, the third difference of the current is used to detect the beginning/end of CT saturation in this paper. If the magnitude of third-order difference of the secondary current is larger than a threshold value, the CT begins of ends saturation at the instants. The proposed detection method is unaffected by the amount of residual flux. The results of various tests with residual flux from -80% to +80% indicate satisfactory performance of the method.

  • This paper is concerned with the existence of monotone positive solutions for a class of nonlinear third-order three-point boundary value problem. By applying iterative techniques, we not only obtain the existence of monotone positive solutions, but also establish iterative schemes for approximating the solutions. An example is also included to illustrate the importance of the results obtained.
