This paper proposes a fusion imaging-based coating-defect classification method for steel structures that uses zero-shot learning. In the proposed method, a halogen lamp generates heat energy on the coating surface of a steel structure, and the resulting heat responses are measured by an infrared (IR) camera, while photos of the coating surface are captured by a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera. The measured heat responses and visual images are then analyzed using zero-shot learning to classify the coating defects, and the estimated coating defects are visualized throughout the inspection surface of the steel structure. In contrast to older approaches to coating-defect classification that relied on visual inspection and were limited to surface defects, and older artificial neural network (ANN)-based methods that required large amounts of data for training and validation, the proposed method accurately classifies both internal and external defects and can classify coating defects for unobserved classes that are not included in the training. Additionally, the proposed model easily learns about additional classifying conditions, making it simple to add classes for problems of interest and field application. Based on the results of validation via field testing, the defect-type classification performance is improved 22.7% of accuracy by fusing visual and thermal imaging compared to using only a visual dataset. Furthermore, the classification accuracy of the proposed method on a test dataset with only trained classes is validated to be 100%. With word-embedding vectors for the labels of untrained classes, the classification accuracy of the proposed method is 86.4%.

A low power methane gas sensor with microheater was fabricated by silicon bulk micromachining technology. In order to heat up the sensing layer to operating temperature, a platinum (Pt) micro heater was embedded in the gas sensor. The line width and gap of the microheater was 20 ${\mu}m$ and 4.5 ${\mu}m$, respectively. Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowhisker arrays were grown on a sensor from a ZnO seed layer using a hydrothermal method. A 200 ml aqueous solution of 0.1 mol zinc nitrate hexahydrate, 0.1 mol hexamethylenetetramine, and 0.02 mol polyethylenimine was used for growing ZnO nanowhiskers. Temperature distribution of the sensor was analyzed by infrared thermal camera. The optimum temperature for highest sensitivity was found to be $250^{\circ}C$ although relatively high (64%) sensitivity was obtained even at as low a temperature as $150^{\circ}C$. The power consumption was 72 mW at $250^{\circ}C$, and only 25 mW at $150^{\circ}C$.
We analyzed spectral data of the astrophysical diffuse emission obtained with the low-resolution spectroscopy mode on the AKARI InfraRed Camera (IRC) in the $1.8-5.3{\mu}m$ wavelength region. Advanced reduction methods specialized for slit spectroscopy of diffuse sky spectra have been developed, and a catalog of 278 spectra of the diffuse sky covering a wide range of Galactic and ecliptic latitudes was constructed. Using this catalog, two other major foreground components, the zodiacal light (ZL) and the diffuse Galactic light (DGL), were separated and subtracted by taking correlations with ZL brightness estimated by the DIRBE ZL model and with the $100{\mu}m$ dust thermal emission, respectively. The isotropic emission was interpreted as the extragalactic background light (EBL), which shows significant excess over the integrated light of galaxies at <$4{\mu}m$.
Dual laser heat sources were used for polymer based material joining. An infrared camera and thermocouple DAQ system were used to correlate the temperature distribution to computer simulation. A 50 degree tilted pre-heating laser source was acting as a heating source to promote the temperature to minimize thermal shock by the following a welding heat source. Based on the experimental result, the skin depth was empirically estimated for computer simulation. The offsets of 3mm, 5mm and 10mm split by weld and preheat were effectively used to control the temperature distribution for the optimal laser joining process. The closer offset resulted in an excessive melting or burning caused by sudden temperature rising. The laser power was split by 50%, 75% and 100% of the weld power, and the best results were found at 50% of preheating. To accurately simulate the physical laser beam absorption and joining optical properties were experimentally measured for the computer FEM simulation. The simulation results showed close correlation between theoretical and experimental results. The developed dual laser process is expected to increase productivity and minimize the cost for the final products.

Motion vector is that comparing a frame between previous frame and current one about how much moved. Using this motion vector, if move the image object of current frame to former frame, it could be corrected to shake from hand and camera shaking. On this thesis, compared efficiency of block matching using SAD(Sum of Absolute Difference) equation as picking out the motion vector, matching using phase correlation, matching using feature point, block matching using bitplane.

This paper describes on characteristics of 2" 3C-SiC wafer bonding using PECVD (plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition) oxide and HF (hydrofluoride acid) for SiCOI (SiC-on-Insulator) structures and MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical system) applications. In this work, insulator layers were formed on a heteroepitaxial 3C-SiC film grown on a Si (001) wafer by thermal wet oxidation and PECVD process, successively. The pre-bonding of two polished PECVD oxide layers made the surface activation in HF and bonded under applied pressure. The bonding characteristics were evaluated by the effect of HF concentration used in the surface treatment on the roughness of the oxide and pre-bonding strength. Hydrophilic character of the oxidized 3C-SiC film surface was investigated by ATR-FTIR (attenuated total reflection Fourier transformed infrared spectroscopy). The root-mean-square suface roughness of the oxidized SiC layers was measured by AFM (atomic force microscope). The strength of the bond was measured by tensile strength meter. The bonded interface was also analyzed by IR camera and SEM (scanning electron microscope), and there are no bubbles or cavities in the bonding interface. The bonding strength initially increases with increasing HF concentration and reaches the maximum value at 2.0 % and then decreases. These results indicate that the 3C-SiC wafer direct bonding technique will offers significant advantages in the harsh MEMS applications.ions.

A multilayer square-type piezoelectric transformer with a hole at the center was investigated in this paper. Temperature distribution at the center was improved by using this construction, therefore increasing input voltage and output power. This model was simulated and investigated successfully by applying a finite element method (FEM) in ATILA software. An optimized structure was then fabricated, examined, and compared to the simulation results. Electrical characteristics, including output voltage and output power, were measured at different load resistances. The temperature distribution was also monitored using an infrared camera. The piezoelectric transformer operated at first radial vibration mode and a frequency area of 70 kHz. The 16 W output power was achieved in a three-layer transformer with 96% efficiency and $20^{\circ}C$ temperature rise from room temperature under 115 V driving voltage, 100 ${\Omega}$ matching load, $28{\times}28{\times}1.8mm$ size, and 2 mm hole diameter. With these square-type multilayer piezoelectric transformers, the temperature was concentrated around the hole and lower than in piezoelectric transformers without a hole.

Most titanium alloy waste with cutting oil was discarded without recycling process so that it can be caused by metal and oil fires. However, there is no fire management system and studies on the titanium or titanium alloy waste in spite of high fire risk. The purpose of this experimental study is to identify the fire risk of the titanium alloy waste with cutting oil. We collected the 120g waste which was made in the biomedical titanium alloy cutting process. The waste was burned and conducted thermal image analysis with infrared camera. The experimental results which illustrated the process, characteristics, and trends of fire are presented. Firstly, the cutting oil was burned and partially the titanium alloy waste was burned. The maximum temperature of the fire was more than $650^{\circ}C$ in some specific spots. These results means when a lot of titanium alloy waste with cutting oil was ignited, this fire could connect the titanium fire. In other words, the fire has a flammable liquid fire and combustible metal fire at the same time. The experimental study could be used fire prevention, response, and investigation of the titanium alloy waste.

Open surface water body extraction is gaining popularity in recent years due to its versatile applications. Multiple techniques are used for water detection based on applications. Different applications of Radar as LADAR, Ground-penetrating, synthetic aperture, and sounding radars are used to detect water. Shortwave infrared, thermal, optical, and multi-spectral sensors are widely used to detect water bodies. A stereo camera is another way to detect water and different methods are applied to the images of stereo cameras such as deep learning, machine learning, polarization, color variations, and descriptors are used to segment water and no water areas. The Satellite is also used at a high level to get water imagery and the captured imagery is processed using various methods such as features extraction, thresholding, entropy-based, and machine learning to find water on the surface. In this paper, we have summarized all the available methods to detect water areas. The main focus of this survey is on water detection especially in small patches or in small areas. The second aim of this survey is to detect water hazards for unmanned vehicles and off-sure navigation.
