  • This article deals with the problem of testing on the common mean of several normal populations. We propose Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures for the common normal mean under the noninformative prior. The noninformative prior is usually improper and yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined u to a multiplicative constant. So we propose the default Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors under the reference priors. Simulation study and an example are provided.

  • This article deals with the problem of testing the equality of the location parameters in the half-normal distributions. We propose Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures for the equality of the location parameters under the noninformative prior. The non-informative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to arbitrary constants. This problem can be deal with the use of the fractional Bayes factor or intrinsic Bayes factor. So we propose the default Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors under the reference priors. Simulation study and an example are provided.

  • This article deals with the problem of testing for the equality of the shape parameters in two inverse Weibull distributions. We propose Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures for the equality of the shape parameters under the noninformative prior. The noninformative prior is usually improper which yields a calibration problem that makes the Bayes factor to be defined up to a multiplicative constant. So we propose the default Bayesian hypothesis testing procedures based on the fractional Bayes factor and the intrinsic Bayes factors under the reference priors. Simulation study and an example are provided.

  • In 2001 US FDA proposed a draft guidance for future in vivo bioequivalence studies. The guidance suggested specific criteria for new drug sponsors to show prescribability and switchability in bioequivalence testing for approval of generic drugs. However, there is less acceptance of the need to change statistical procedures and study designs from those currently used to assess the current criterion of average bioequivalence. The measures of population and individual bioequivalence testing are introduced and statistical procedures for them are discussed.

  • The Purpose of this study was to present the procedures and methods of ordering theory, and to search for a learning hierarchy among science process skills in each Piagetian cognitive reasoning level. One of the purpose of this is not to determine the clear and exact hierarchy but rather to demonstrate how ordering theoretic methods and procedures can be used to determine the hierarchy of logical relationships among a set of test items or the testing of a hypothesized hierarchy. Ordering theory was used to analyze five science process skills collected from 509 high school students. Ordering Theory has as its primary intent either the testing of hypothesized hierarchies among items at the determination of hierchies among items. Hierarchical relationships were identified within five science process skills. The results will be helpful in giving useful inform at ions to classroom teachers and science curriculum developer.

  • Korea Electric Power Research Institute in charge of the power IT project "Development of Prototype for Advanced Substation Automation System based on the Digital Control Technology", is performing the verification of performance of the substation automation system. In order to verify a system based BUS protection IED, the standardized document and procedures are required. But there is nothing to describe systematically how to verify IEC 61850 based IED in the system environment except an individual IED testing way and report. This paper presents the substation automation system based ways and procedures to verify the IED using UML(Unified Modelling Language).

  • For ethical and economic reasons, clinicla trials must be repeatedly monitored for evidence of treatment benefit or harm. Repeated testing at conventional critical values can substantially inflate the overal type I error rate. To maintain acceptable levels, group sequential procedures have been developed for clinical trials. This article gives a brief overview of the group sequential procedures.

  • In this paper, we present a time domain combined field integral equation (TD-CFIE) formulation to analyze the transient electromagnetic response from three-dimensional dielectric objects. The solution method in this paper is based on the method of moments (MoM) that involves separate spatial and temporal testing procedures. A set of the RWG (Rao, Wilton, Glisson) functions Is used for spatial expansion of the equivalent electric and magnetic current densities and a combination of RWG and its orthogonal component is used as spatial testing. We also investigate spatial testing procedures for the TD-CFIE to select the proper testing functions that are derived from the Laguerre polynomials. These basis functions are also used for temporal testing. Use of this temporal expansion function characterizing the time variable enables one to handle the time derivative terms in the integral equation and decouples the space-time continuum in an analytic fashion. Numerical results computed by the proposed formulation are presented and compared with the solutions of the frequency domain combined field integral equation (FD-CFIE).

  • Korea Electric Power Research Institute in charge of the power IT project "Development of Prototype for Advanced Substation Automation System based on the Digital Control Technology" is performing system verification. Breaker Failure protection IED can operate protection activity by communicating with other IEDs such as T/L IED, owing to IEC 61850 international standard and digital substation automation system. Accordingly, IED testing process should be changed from the conventional way by electrical contact test on individual IED to system based testing method by network communication. This paper describes how to test BF IED based on substation automation system and testing procedures using UML, which is used to implement S/W design.
