  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to suggest an effective instruction method for dental hygiene students by determining the degree of importance and satisfaction that they attach to the courses. Methods: Data obtained from a survey that was conducted on 654 dental hygiene students were analyzed. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences version 23.0 was used for the statistical analysis. A paired t-test was conducted to detect the differences between the degree of importance that the respondents attached to the courses and the degree of satisfaction they achieved. A comparative analysis of the two was performed using the IPA analysis. Results: Regarding the items, the respondents found the environment most important, followed by the content, method, perspective, and assessment. Regarding satisfaction, they were most satisfied with the environment, followed by the perspective, method, content, and assessment. Regarding the importance of ideal teaching, the respondents gave the highest priority to 'a class in which the core content is summarized, emphasized, and explained.' The satisfaction was the highest toward 'PowerPoint-based classes in which the core content is well-organized.' Based on the results of the IPA analysis, the respondents regarded 16 items as requiring maintenance and continuous efforts, 12 items as low priority, and 4 items as requiring excessive efforts and timely improvement. Conclusions: An ideal class requires the instructor to utilize various teaching methods that would enable the students to comprehend the detailed teaching content and elicit active interaction and feedback from the students through easy-to-understand lectures that are appropriate for students.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to explore methods to improve the quality recognition and satisfaction level of non-face-to-face lectures among students in the departments of dental technology and dental hygiene. Methods: This survey was conducted to assess the status and preference of non-face-to-face lectures and the level of awareness and satisfaction regarding the quality of these lectures among 179 students of dental technology and 295 students of dental hygiene. Statistical analyses were performed using frequency analysis, independent sample t-test, one-way ANOVA (post-hoc Duncan), Welch analysis (post-hoc Games-Howell), and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: Factors that affected the ability to assess the quality of non-face-to-face lectures were the department, the method of non-face-to-face lectures, the most preferred method for conducting lectures, the level of awareness regarding the quality of face-to-face lecture, and satisfaction level. It has 71.5% explanatory power. Moreover, factors that influenced the satisfaction level of non-face-to-face lectures included the department, grade, the highest satisfied non-face-to-face teaching method, the most effective theoretical non-face-to-face teaching method, the most preferred teaching methods, and the ability to assess quality of face-to-face lectures. It has 46.8% explanatory power. Conclusion: Non-face-to-face classes should be designed and developed for web-based programs to improve the motivation and achievement level of the students and encourage interaction between the professors and students. Our findings suggest that educators should strive to achieve optimal educational effects by efficiently combining face-to-face and non-face-to-face lectures.

All collected data were analysed by using SPSS/PC, Technical Statistic, One-Way ANOVA, Ttest, Person Correnlation Coefficient, Chrobach Alpha Coefficient and the result of the study is follow. 1) The satisfaction degree were classificated as 7 aspect and overall average score was 3.042. During that period satisfaction of personal relation aspect(M=3.737) shows highest level. According to above study satisfaction's degree of subject show lowest level. 2) According to the result of verification of study. general character of student and satisfiaction degree has not much relation with sex, location of college, religion, period for enrolling college, teaching method of clinical practice. But the result show similar relation with following items. Satisfaction if subject and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.000), place of clinical practice and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.002), Academic record of college and satisfaction of clinical practice(P=0.000). 3) The relation of satisfaction(Subject, method of teaching, environment, period, rating, personal relation) of clinical practice and age of investigation's target Older student show higher satisfaction(P=0.040). Also method of teaching, environments, period, rating, personal relation has similarities with satisfaction. Therefore student who has higher satisfaction of clinical practice they also have higher rate for subject, environment, period, personal relation. 4) The result fo investigation, most interesting subject was crown & bridge and most difficult factor was too many simple-works to the student. One of ideal factor was discussing with counselor before they choose place for clinical practice. Third grade and first semester is most efficient time for clinical practice and 8 week is proper period for clinical practice. Clinical practice is absilutory mecessary and we find out most student rated positively. However we need more specific study about satisfcation of each subject. Because it shows lowest level and we need more pay attention for planning of clinical practice.

Based on the analysis, the purpose of this study was to identify the requirements for the improvement to enhance the educational support by the Center for Teaching and Learning Support. As a result, it was shown that satisfaction and effectiveness as well as requirement for improvement were different depending on school level. Therefore, it is necessary for the Center to enhance the services appropriate for each school level rather than unified services. In other words, the improvement is required to enhance the fun and interesting aspects for elementary and middle school students, and the effort is required to enhance the quality aspect of information for high school students when educational information is provided.

  • Capstone design is a creative and comprehensive educational program requiring practical adaptation skills for the industry. The purpose of this study was to analyze the results of design development, lectures and curriculum satisfaction for textile fashion products based on four years of capstone design curriculum from 2015 to 2018. The curriculum consists of 26 groups of 72 students and a total of 26 final results were obtained via industry-university cooperation. The materials for product design development included differentiated clothing, leisure goods, bags, dog goods, smart goods, interior goods and recycled products based on textiles. The degree of satisfaction with lectures involving the capstone design class was very high, with 4.2 out of 5.0 when the number of students was less than 10. However, when the number of students was 20 or higher and the number of students was large, the level of satisfaction was below 3.88. Therefore, the capstone design class comprising less than 10 students was better at individual teaching and teamwork. In terms of satisfaction with capstone design curriculum, the respondents indicated that the teaching method addressing the needs of industry and academia facilitated practical learning. It was very helpful in improving competency related to the design and development majors and future employment. The capstone design curriculum was effective in the training for practical design development and planning.
