In this study, data was collected on the dietary life education at elementary schools according to the Food Education Support Act using elementary school teachers as subjects. A survey was conducted on 258 elementary school teachers at seven elementary schools located in Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Daegu, Korea from April 14-17, 2010. Most teachers reported that dietary life education was very much needed. The appropriate individuals to teach dietary life education were nutrition teachers, charge teachers, and dietary life education tutors, in that order. The most appropriate time to conduct dietary life education was during dietary life-related subject hours, dietary life education hours, food service hours, and discretionary and extracurricular activities, in that order. The most effective materials and methods used for dietary life education were projection materials and dietary life-related special lectures. Efficient dietary life education methods can be used to develop dietary life education programs. Based on these results, elementary school teachers recognize that dietary life education is very much needed and believe that it would be desirable to conduct dietary life education using nutrition teachers in cooperation with other related teachers.

Descriptive statistics, correlation analyses, hierarchical multiple regression analyses using the bootstrapping method were conducted. Results: The results showed that affective commitment predicted increased life satisfaction. The results also revealed significant moderation effects of social support on the relationship between affective commitment and life satisfaction. Further analyses revealed significant moderation effects of support from directors and colleagues on the relationship. Conclusion/Implications: The findings highlight the importance of affective commitment in enhancing life satisfaction among child care teachers. The positive association is more pronounced among child care teachers who perceive social support, highlighting the supportive roles of directors and colleagues in enhancing life satisfaction among child care teachers.
Objective: This study examined the effects of social support and resilience on life satisfaction of child care teachers. Methods: This study was conducted by sampling 162 child care teachers who participated in job training courses in the Gyeongsangbuk-do region. Three kinds of variables, which included social support, resilience, and life satisfaction were measured. The collected data were analyzed using PASW 18.0 program for windows. Results: First, social support, resilience, and life satisfaction of the child care teachers were generally above normal. The resilience subscale showed the highest score in 'affirmative', followed by 'interpersonal ability', 'self-control ability'. And the 'support of colleagues' was higher than 'support of superior' in the social support's subscale. Next, there were no significant differences in social support by child care teachers' background, but there were significant differences in resilience and life satisfaction of child care teachers' according to their working center types and academic levels. Second, life satisfaction was positively correlated with social support, and resilience. The 'affirmative', 'support of superior' variables were factors that predicted life satisfaction. Conclusion/Implications: We suggested ways to increase the life satisfaction of child care teachers through the 'affirmative' and 'support of superior' variables.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine how job stress, coping style, and social support were associated with quality of life among child care teachers. Methods: The participants were comprised of 281 child care teachers in the metropolitan area of Seoul. Job stress, problem-focused coping style, social support, and quality of life were assessed by a teacher-reported questionnaire. Results: Correlation and regression analyses revealed that while job stress predicted lower quality of life, having problem-focused coping style and family support enhanced quality of life among child care teachers. Furthermore, results showed significant moderation effects of support from directors at child care centers on the relationship between job stress and quality of life among child care teachers. Conclusion/Implications: The findings suggest the important role of problem-focused coping styles and family support in enhancing quality of life. Moreover, support from directors at child care centers appeared to buffer the effects of job stress on quality of life among child care teachers. Results were discussed in terms of their implications for educational and counseling programs for child care teachers.
Purpose: This study aimed to examine the effects of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms and coping strategies on the health-related quality of life in elementary and secondary schools female teachers. Methods: 140 female teachers in C province were recruited using a correlational study design. The measurements used were the PMS symptoms scale, the PMS coping scale and the Korean version of health-related quality of life scale. Results: The higher quality of life were predicted by the lower PMS symptoms, the higher PMS coping, the better the quality of sleep, the lower the job and life stress, and the lower work disturbance due to the PMS symptoms. These variables explained 53% of the total variance. Conclusions: For better female teachers' health-related quality of life, health care programs for managing the PMS symptoms need to be developed by considering those identified variables. For health education practice, school health teachers need to distribute health educational materials for female teachers and to provide small-group health counselling services for PMS self care.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the change of chemistry-related attitude of preliminary teachers, after the project of examining chemists contributing to the quality of human life. One group pretest-posttest was used in this study as an experimental design. Before examining the chemist, few preliminary teachers have the knowledge about the chemist contributing to the quality of human life. After the project of examining the chemist, the affirmative awareness on the chemist on preliminary teachers is increased. This result shows that the project of examining the chemist contributing to quality of life can give to make the positive attitude of preliminary teachers on chemistry, and to apply the useful tool related to STS curriculum which is not described effectively in science or chemistry textbook.

The COVID-19 global health crisis has affected the mental and psychological health and well-being of the people around the world. However, little is known about the impact of COVID-19 among Filipino teachers. This study was conducted to determine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the quality of life (QoL) of professional teachers in the Philippines. A descriptive cross-sectional study was used involving 139 licensed professional teachers. The COVID-19 Impact on Quality of Life (COV19-QoL) was the primary measure used in this study. Descriptive statistics, t-test, and one-way ANOVA were the statistical tools employed to analyze the data. Results indicated a moderate COVID-19 impact on the QoL of the teachers. There was a significant difference in the impact of COVID-19 on QoL by degree program. However, the impact of COVID-19 on QoL did not significantly differ by age, sex, marital status, employment status, monthly salary, presence of a COVID-19 case near their residence, personal knowledge of someone who was infected or died of COVID-19, presence of a medical condition, and perceived threat. The psychological well-being and QoL of teachers must be recognized and teachers must be provided with support as they continue to adapt to the impact brought by the COVID-19 pandemic. This study contributes to the growing literature on the impact of the pandemic.

The results are as follows: Of 32 contents on Family life subarea, all the teachers, the parents and the students put the emphasis on sex such as pregnancy, purity, sex-ethics, etc. This result means that middle-school students emphasized the sexual identity formation and this was also a common concern about adolescents in our society. Of 37 contents of Managing home resource and Consumer life subarea, teachers though the environment pollution is an important subject and parents and students thought finding a method to conserve good environment were more important. This result reflects their concern on the environment. Of 49 contents on Dietary life, teachers and parents emphasized “the importance of nutritive elements”which is basic on their dietary life and students were more interested in “adolescence and growth and development among adolescents’nutritional characteristics and problems”which is more related to their current life. Of 40 contents on Clothing life subarea, while teachers put the emphasis on the method how they can buy ready-made clothes, parents and students wanted them to teach what kind of clothes are suitable for themselves. By finding out what kinds of Home-economics contents are important from the view point of teachers, parents and students, this study can be a useful resource for the next curriculum revision and for selecting contents of a new-coming text book. However, restricted sampling must be considered and further studies which cover the whole area might be needed.
