This study examined whether any relationship exists between teachers' and children's perceptions of the teacher-child relationship and how factors such as the child's self-regulation and stress, and the teacher's self-efficacy and stress affect the teacher-child relationship. The participants for this study consisted of 101 kindergarteners and 17 teachers. Most of the children (88%) and teachers (88%) perceived teacher-child closeness. On the other hand, 22% of children and 11% of teachers perceived teacher-child conflict. The child's self-regulation affected both children's and teachers' perceptions of teacher-child closeness and conflict. The teacher's self-efficacy affected both children's and teachers' perceptions of teacher-child closeness. It also affected teachers' perceptions of teacher-child conflict. The child's and teacher's stress affected both children's and teachers' perceptions of teacher-child conflict. These findings were discussed with respect to implications for the classroom and future research.
Using data from an ongoing study of 170 children aged 4-6 years in low-income families, this study tests how mothers' parenting behaviors and teacher-child relationship influences the adjustment to child-care centers of young children. The mothers' parenting behaviors were measured by the mothers of surveyed children, while the teacher-child relationship and children's adjustment were rated by teachers. Measurements were recorded from using the Iowa Parent Behavior Inventory(Crase et al. 1987), Student-Teacher Relationship Scale(Pianta et al. 1995) and the Adjustment to Child-care Centers Scale(Lee 2004). The collected data was analyzed by hierarchical regression using the SPSS Program. Results indicate that mothers' parenting behaviors in the low-income families controlled characteristics of children and are positively associated with one area of early school adjustment, learning readiness. In other words, mothers who are more involved and demonstrate supportive parenting, have children with better learning readiness. The teacher-child relationship is strongly related to all areas of children's adjustment. The interaction effect of parenting behaviors and the teacher-child relationship on children's learning readiness is observed. These results highlight the importance of the teacher-child closeness as well as the quality of parenting behaviors during the preschool period for the low-income family in improving early school adjustment.
School adjustment of elementary school children is one of the most important things, sinceitisthebasisofthefuturelife. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between parent-child relationship, peer relationship, teacher-child relationship, and school adjustment of elementary school students. The research topics of the present study were as follows: (1) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the parent-child relationship? (2) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the peer relationship? (3) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the teacher-child relationship in school? (4) Is the school adjustment of elementary school students different depending upon the grade, and sex? 460 students were sampled in Kangwon-do, and 400 were used in the final data analyses, excluding 60 due to the incomplete answering. Parent-child relationship inventory, peer relationship inventory, teacher-child relationship scale, and school adjustment scale were used. Data were analyzed using SPSS(win) 10.1K. The results were as follows: First, elementary school students adjust themselves to the school better when parent-child relationship, peer relationship, and teacher-child relationship are good. Second, teacher-child relationship has the most important effects on the school adjustment, and peer relationship, and parent-child relationship sequentially. Third, 4th graders adjust to the school better than the 6th, and there is no difference between boys and girls in terms of school adjustments. Based on the above results, discussion and implications for the future research and education were as below: First, teachers need to understand children's school adjustments depend upon their human relationships especially upon teacher-student relationships. Second, teachers need to understand students have more difficulties in adjusting to the school when they grow older. Third, teachers have to keep the children positive peer relationship, and parent-child relationship which are important in children's adjusting to the school. Fourth, future researches need nation-wide sampling and more systematized research design in order to generalize the results.
This study investigates the moderating effects of the teacher-child relationship on the relationship between young children's self-control and behavior problems. 150 young children aged 3, 4, and 5 and their 40 classroom teachers participated in this study. The results of this investigation reveal the following: (1) Young children's self-control is significantly related to behavior problems. (2) The teacher-child relationship (conflict, dependence, intimacy) is significantly related to young children's behavior problems. (3) The effects of self-control on young children's anxiety and withdrawal behavior are significantly moderated by conflict driven teacher-child relationships. (4) The effects of self-control on young children's aggression and impulsive behavior are significantly moderated by dependent teacher-child relationships.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of teacher emotional intelligence in the relationship between job environments and teacher efficacy. Methods: Participants of this study were 205 child care teachers from U-city. Correlation analysis between variables was conducted with the collected data, and regression analysis was conducted to verify the mediating effect of emotional intelligence in the relationship between the job environment of daycare centers and teacher efficacy. Results: First, there was a positive correlation between job environments, teacher efficacy, and teacher emotional intelligence. Second, job environments and teacher emotional intelligence had a significant direct effect on teacher efficacy and teacher emotional intelligence also had a significant indirect effect between job environments and teacher efficacy. Conclusion/Implications: The way to improve the quality of child care is to improve the quality of teachers. Among the teacher's competencies, it is very important to increase teacher efficacy. Teacher efficacy plays a very important role in the quality of childcare and the healthy development of toddlers and children. In order to increase teacher efficacy, policy support for the job environment and training support to increase teacher efficacy are considered necessary.
This study examined how infant-teacher relationships perceived by teachers related to observed toddler-teacher and toddler-peer interactions in play. Participants were 57 2-year-old toddlers and their 8 teachers. Toddler-teacher perceived relationships were examined by questionnaire toddler-teacher and toddler-toddler interactions were observed and recorded during play. Data were analyzed by correlation. Results were : (1) the perceived relationships of toddlers to multiple teachers in the classroom were very similar. (2) The pattern of interactions between toddlers and teachers was similar to that of interactions between toddlers and peers. (3) The more positive the toddler-teacher perceived relationship, the more positive the observed interactions between the children and teachers and between children and their peers.

The purpose of the study was to examine the mediating effect of kindergarten teachers' psychological burnout in the relationship between grit and teacher-child interactions. We conducted a cross-sectional study with 191 kindergarten teachers in South Korean. To measure the major variables, Grit scale [1], teacher-child interaction scale [2], and psychological burnout scale [3] were used. Hayes' PROCESS macro was used to test mediation effects of psychological burnout in the relationship between grit and teacher-child interactions. Indirect effects were tested using bootstrapped confidence intervals. As the results, kindergarten teachers' teacher-child interactions were found to have a significantly positive correlation with their grit but a significantly negative correlation with their psychological burnout. In addition, the relationship between grit and teacher-child interactions was mediated by psychological burnout.
The purpose of this research was to explore the influence of a mother's motivational beliefs in the context of the child education and parent-teacher relationship and the impact that it has on the learning related skills of young children. The participants in this study consisted of 243 mothers of 4~5 years old children and 20 teachers in 5 child education centers located in Seoul, Korea. The data was analyzed by means of using statistical method such as mean, standard deviation, t-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise regression. The major findings of this study were as follows: First, there were significant differences between parent-teacher relationship and learning related skills of young children according to the children's sex and maternal educational level. Second, children's sex, maternal educational level, and the parent-teacher relationship were significantly related with the learning related skills of young children. Last, mother's motivational beliefs in the context of child education and the parent-teacher relationship directly influenced the learning related skills of young children. The results of this study suggest that positive parent-teacher relationships are important for developing the learning related skills of young children and this in turn can predict the level of children's adjustment and success in school.
Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effects of the parent-teacher trust relationship and cooperative behavior in the relationship between the emotional intelligence of infant teachers and their play teaching efficacy. Methods: A total number of 216 teachers in charge of infants under the age of two at childcare centers located in H, Y, and O cities in Gyeonggi-do participated in the survey. Using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 22, descriptive statistics, correlation and structural equation model were analyzed. Results: First, the emotional intelligence of infant teachers had a direct effect on play teaching efficacy. Second, the emotional intelligence of infant teachers influenced play teaching efficacy through parent-teacher's trust relationship. Third, the emotional intelligence of infant teachers influenced play teaching efficacy through parent-teacher cooperative behavior. Fourthly, it was found that the parent-teacher trust relationship and cooperative behavior were mediated sequentially in the influence of the emotional intelligence of infant teachers on play teaching efficacy. Conclusion/Implications: The results of this study emphasize the importance of improving the emotional intelligence of teachers and the trust and cooperation between parents and teachers in order to increase the ability of early childhood teacher's play teaching efficacy.

The purpose of the study is to review research in concept, measurement, effect, and influence factor of teacher efficacy. Through the review of previous research, the study shows that the concept of teacher efficacy is likely to be situation-specific rather than teacher characteristic. And the study represents that the measurement of teacher efficacy is related to the development of measurement instrument and the extraction of construct. The effect of teacher efficacy concerns the relationship between teacher efficacy and the student's academic achievement and affective traits such as motivation, interests, and attitude, and the relationship between teacher efficacy and teacher. And the influence factor of teacher efficacy concerns the influence of job environment related to teacher. The four things mentioned above are discussed in detail based on the previous research.
