The purpose of this study was to compare beliefs about social rule, differential peer association, perceived behavioral control, intention of smoking, and self efficacy for rejecting smoking among smokers, reformed smokers, and non smokers in adolescence. The subjects were 576 adolescents in middle and high school, living in K city. The data was collected through questionnaires from December 1st to 18th, 2002 was analyzed using descriptive statistics, x²-test, and ANOVA. 1) The general characteristics and characteristics related to smoking among smokers, reformed smokers, and non smokers in adolescence showed differences as follows: sex, mother's education, monthly allowance, thinking about teacher's smoking, feelings about the smoking scene, thinking about father's smoking, drinking, satisfaction of school, and sexual experience. 2) Belief about social rule, differential peer association, perceived behavioral control, intention of smoking, and self efficacy for rejecting smoking among the three groups showed differences as follows: smokers have a lower belief about social rule, lower perceived behavioral control, lower self-efficacy for rejecting smoking, but higher differential peer association and higher intention of smoking than those of reformed smokers and non smokers. We recommend the development of a nursing program for anti-smoking behavior including the research factors affecting attitudes of smoking adolescents.
TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) adds the technological knowledge to PCK (Shulman 1986), completing the combination of three kinds of knowledge, i.e. teacher's content knowledge (CK), pedagogical knowledge (PK), and technological knowledge (TK). In this study, I seek to design methodological ways to improve TPACK for preservice mathematics teachers by developing and analyzing team project-based classes with technology in a class of the first semester 2009 in a teacher's college in Seoul, South Korea. The goal of the team project is to design classes to teach mathematics with technology by selecting technology tools suitable for specific mathematical concepts or mathematics sections. In the early stage of the class in the college, the confidence levels among the preservice mathematics teachers were relatively low but increased in the final stage their mathematics teaching efficacy up to from 3.88 to 4.50. Also, the pre service mathematics teachers answered the team project was helpful or very helpful in developing TPACK; this result proves that lectures with technology which based on team project are excellent tools for the teacher to design classes with technology confidently. Considering the teacher's TPACK is one of the abilities to achieve the goals required in the information technology era, the preservice mathematics teachers are asked to plan and develop the lectures with technology, rather than just taught to know how to use technology tools or adapt to specific cases. Finally, we see that national-wide discussion and research are necessary to prepare customized standards and implementable plans for TPACK in South Korea.
It is central to use a scale to measure a person's level of a construct in mathematics education research. This article explains a practical process through which a researcher rapidly can develop an instrument to measure the construct. The process includes research questioning, reviewing the literature, framing a background theory, treating the data, and reviewing the instrument. The statistical treatment of data includes normality analysis, item-total correlation analysis, reliability analysis, and factor analysis. A virtual example is given for better understanding of the process.
The purpose of this study was to compare differences in role conflict, self efficacy, job satisfaction, and job involvement perceived by school nutrition teachers and dietitians. A total of 335 female school nutrition teachers and dietitians from Incheon area were surveyed by a self-report questionnaire in November 2010. Collected data were processed using SPSS 15.0. The reliability of the questionnaire was tested and differences between the two groups were analyzed using the Student's t-test, the chi-square test, and a two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The job satisfaction level of nutrition teachers was higher than that of dietitians. The effect of role conflict and job satisfaction for nutrition teachers and dietitians was different according to age. In addition, self-efficacy, job satisfaction, and job involvement of nutrition teachers and dietitians were influenced by their annual salaries. The frequency of meals served also affected role conflict, job satisfaction, and job involvement of the nutrition teachers and dietitians, and the effect of job involvement by the nutrition teachers and dietitians was different according to meal service type. Therefore, it is necessary to establish strategies for resolving role conflicts among school foodservice specialists and improve their self-efficacy for enhancing consumer's satisfaction with the general quality of school food service. These efforts may contribute to job satisfaction and job involvement of food service specialists and ultimately to the productivity of food service and the establishment of food service specialist roles.
The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review of the previous studies done on the child-care teacher's turnover intentions. From 2001 to 2011, 33 articles which reforted primary empirical data met the criteria for inclusion in the meta-analysis. The results of this study are as follo ws: First, included in the main factors related to child-care teachers' turnover intentions were a job-related variable, an organizational internal variable and an organizational external variable. Second, the most influential protective variable related to the child-care teacher's turnover intentions among the set of organizational external variables was work-time followed by welfare, education and training, remuneration, social recognition and promotion system. Third, the most influential protective variable related to child-care teachers' turnover intentions among the set of job-related variables was teacher efficacy followed by job satisfaction, participation of decision making, performance, work-autonomy and work-professionalism. Fourth, the most influential protective variable related to the child-care teacher's turnover intentions among the set of organizational internal variables was personal relations followed by relationships with the director and relationships with colleagues. The effect size of these variables was large. Fifth, the results of meta-regression analysis revealed that the survey area and years had no significant effect on overall effect sizes.
Objective: The purpose of the study was, first, to look for the correlation among child care teacher's job burnout, their empowerment, and their flourishing. The second aim was to find out the relative effects of job burnout and empowerment on the flourishing of child care teachers. Methods: The participants were 296 child care teachers from Seoul, Gyeonggi and Jeon-nam districts among whom questionnaires were distributed. Correlation and hierarchical regression analyses were used for the analysis with SPSS 21.0 program. Results: The results revealed that, first, while there was significant correlation in child care teacher's job burnout, their empowerment, and their flourishing. Child care teacher's job burnout showed a significant negative correlation with their empowerment and their flourishing, and child care teacher's empowerment had a significant positive correlation with their flourishing. Second, the relative influence on the flourish of child care teachers was in the order of empowerment and job burnout. In terms of sub-factors, the relative influence on the flourish of child care teachers was in the order of professionalism, autonomy, self-efficacy and job dissatisfaction. This study is meaningful in that it provided the basic data for improving the quality level of the child care. Conclusion/Implications: This study suggests that basic data for improving the quality of the child care. In order to improve the flourishing of child care teacher, it is necessary to find effective ways to eliminate the job burnout and increase the empowerment.
This study examined the Knowledge of Elementary School Teachers Regarding in ADHD Children Education of ADHD children education for 297 elementary school teachers. The knowledge of ADHD children in inclusive education was made through a questionnaire composed of four areas: attitude, burden, efficacy, and promotional conditions on ADHD children. The collected questionnaire was calculated using technical statistics from the SPSS (WIN 22.0) for frequency and percentage. The results of this study are as follows: First, the teachers of general elementary schools are trying to include education of ADHD children. Second, in the burden of general elementary school teachers on ADHD children education, ADHD children showed interruption of learning, interruption of positive learning atmosphere, interruption of order maintenance of general classroom and teacher's class progress. Third, in the efficacy of general elementary school teachers on ADHD children, they did not have the Knowledge of ADHD symptoms, diagnosis and evaluation of ADHD children, teaching ability for ADHD children education, and ability to deal with ADHD children's behavior. Fourth, in the promotion condition of school for ADHD child education, it was found that there was no connection with external institutions for the support of professional manpower for ADHD children and ADHD child supports.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the differences between children's internal variables (gender, temperament, development) and environmental variables (teaching efficacy, teaching - child interaction, classroom environment) The data collected for this study were analyzed using descriptive statistics, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, cluster analysis, and t-test using the SPSS 22.0 program. The results are as follows. First, the peer interaction of the infant showed a difference in sex between the types. Second, children's peer interaction showed differences in interstitial temperament, language development, and cognitive development. Third, the peer interaction of young children was different between the types of environment variables such as teaching efficacy, teacher - infant interaction, and classroom environment. As a result, it is suggested that the children's social temperament will lead to healthy peer interaction, and that language development and cognitive development will lead to a positive developmental process. In this study, the meaning and meaning of children's intergenerational behaviors in children's gender and temperament, language and cognitive development, and environmental variables such as teaching efficacy, teacher - infant interaction, I checked. In addition, it is meaningful that the positive and negative peer interactions are segmented and analyzed in detail to examine the peer interaction of infants. However, the limitation of this study is that it is not possible to investigate all the fields belonging to the infant's personal variables and environmental variables.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of metacognitive strategy on conceptual acquisition ofvseasonal change and self-efficacy when it was applied to 6th grade elementary students. This study consists of 2 classes, 76 students in the 6th grade of elementary school, which were divided into the experimental group (38) and the control group (38). First, a pre-test was administrated to check students' levels of metacognitive self-regulation and self-efficacy prior to getting planned lessons and then an instruction program was developed based upon the metacognitive instruction model and students' conception. The control group was exposed to traditional methods mainly using the textbook and teacher's guide book. The experimental group employed a metacognitive learning strategy program and activities with metacognitive questionnaires. After the planned lessons, the students were tested with post-tests about the conception of seasonal change and self-efficacy. One month later the students were tested again with another test to determine the continuation effect. The results were as follows: First, the group that used metacognitive conceptual change instruction did better in forming and continuing to maintain the scientific seasonal change conceptions compared to the control group. Second, the high and intermediate group taught by metacognitive conceptual change instruction was higher in the level of self-regulation than the control group. However, it was not verified in the low group. Third, the group which used metacognitive conceptual change instruction showed a higher level of self-efficacy than the control group did.
A survey was done to figure out the HPLP(health promotion lifestyle profile) of the teachers of health-related disciplines and not-health-related disciplines. 205 teachers in middle and high school were surveyed from 4th February to 2nd April 2003. The results of this study were as follows; 1. The HPLP score of the teachers of health-related disciplines (mean $2.73{\pm}0.44$) was higher than that of the teachers of not-health-related disciplines (mean $2.48{\pm}0.40$). Sub category's mean of the teachers of health-related disciplines was self-realization 2.99, interpersonal-relationship 2.92, health responsibility 2.65, nutrition 2.64, stress management 2.52, exercise 2.27 and that of the teachers of not-health-related disciplines was self-realization 2.84, interpersonal-relationship 2.70, health responsibility 2.24, nutrition 2.39, stress management 2.23, exercise 1.98. 2. When HPLP score were examined according to demographic characteristics, health status and self-efficacy, the results showed that of the teachers of health-related disciplines was higher than that of the teachers of not-health-related disciplines. 3. Gender, degree of grief and depression, and self-efficacy have statistically significant effect on the HPLP score of the teachers of health-related disciplines, and subjective health status, concern about health, degree of stress, and self-efficacy were significant on that of the teachers of not-health-related disciplines. This results were indicated the teachers of health-related disciplines show better role model in health than the teachers of not-health-related disciplines. As self-efficacy is the most important factor on the HPLP score, it is very important to introduce programs to raise self-efficacy of teachers in middle and high school.
