  • Emulsion PCR (ePCR) has recently gained interest in the areas of food safety and biotechnology owing to its highly specific and sensitive performance in the amplification of target DNA. To facilitate the applications of ePCR to food safety and biotechnology, this paper describes the principles of ePCR and the factors that should be considered in designing ePCR. In addition, current research and applications related to ePCR are discussed.

Performance Analysis of the Robust Least Squares Target Localization Scheme using RDOA Measurements

  • A practical recursive linear robust estimation scheme is proposed for target localization in the sensor network which provides range difference of arrival (RDOA) measurements. In order to radically solve the known practical difficulties such as sensitivity for initial guess and heavy computational burden caused by intrinsic nonlinearity of the RDOA based target localization problem, an uncertain linear measurement model is newly derived. In the suggested problem setting, the target localization performance of the conventional linear estimation schemes might be severely degraded under the low SNR condition and be affected by the target position in the sensor network. This motivates us to devise a new sensor network localization algorithm within the framework of the recently developed robust least squares estimation theory. Provided that the statistical information regarding RDOA measurements are available, the estimate of the proposition method shows the convergence in probability to the true target position. Through the computer simulations, the omnidirectional target localization performance and consistency of the proposed algorithm are compared to those of the existing ones. It is shown that the proposed method is more reliable than the total least squares method and the linear correction least squares method.

초음파영상에서 주파수와 파라미터를 이용한 정량적 영상평가 (Evaluation of Quantitative Image Quality using Frequency and Parameters in the Ultrasound Image)

  • 초음파 장비는 여러 질환을 진단하는 장비로서 널리 사용되고 있으나, 초음파영상 품질의 평가방법에서는 정량적 표준이 없는 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 ATS-539 다목적 팬텀 내 8 mm 표적의 파라미터로서 주파수, Dynamic range, 초점수를 변화하여 예민도의 SNR과 영상의 히스토그램을 분석하고 왜곡도를 측정하여 표적별 적합한 주파수 및 파라미터를 도출하여 초음파영상의 병변 진단율을 향상 하고자 한다. 실험재료는 초음파 장비, ATS-539 다목적 팬텀을 사용하며, 실험방법은 영상 평가 팬텀의 8 mm를 주파수(2, 3, 4 MHz, 하모닉 3, 4, 4.5 MHz), Dynamic range(58, 68, 78, 88, 98), Focus(2, 4, 6개)를 변화시키면서 85장의 영상을 획득한다. 8 mm 영상의 예민도를 Image J 프로그램에서 각 표적별 SNR을 측정하고, 왜곡도는 신호의 히스토그램에서 백그라운드 값을 뺄셈하여 측정한다. 측정 결과 값에서 상위 40% 결과에서 파라미터 변화에 따라 예민도의 SNR, 왜곡도의 변화양상의 데이터 값을 산출하여 초음파 장비에서 적절한 영상의 품질을 나타내는 파라미터를 도출하였다. 결과는 초점수가 증가하면 SNR이 높고 왜곡도가 감소하며, 주파수 4 MHz에서 SNR값이 높고 왜곡도가 감소하였다. 그리고 Dynamic range 88, 98에서 최적의 영상을 나타내었으며, 실험 결과값을 기초로 초음파영상의 품질을 평가한다면 보다 정확한 초음파 진단이 가능할 것으로 사료된다.

  • In this paper, the computerized interpretation of the analytical chemical data, especially GC/MS data, was performed for the purpose of prescreening of the target compounds. First, the data from the analytical instrument was analyzed to get the information about the retention time of the ISTD and the time inteval between the records. Second, the identification of the characteristic ion peaks was performed by calculating the ratio of the heights and the relative slope sensitivity of the characteristic mass abundance.

수상전에서의 표적할당 및 포탄소요양 결정모형 (A Study on Model for Target Assignment and Gun Ammunition Required for Naval Surface Warfar)

  • This thesis presents a model to assign targets and to determine gun ammunitions required for naval surface warfare. Delivery errors of weapon systems and vulnerability of moving targets are analyzed, then probability to kill moving battle sihps is computed. A weapon-target allocation model is proposed by using the Out of Kilter technique. A model to determine ammunitions required for killing moving targets is also designed. The models are evaluated by simulation and sensitivity analysis.

  • Design variables for suspension systems cannot always be realized in the actual suspension systems due to tolerances in manufacturing and assembly processes. In order to deal with these tolerances, design variables associated with kinematic configuration and compliance characteristics of suspensions are treated as random variables. The reliability of a design target with respect to a design variable is defined as the probability that the design target is in the acceptable design range for all possible values of the design variable. To compute reliability, the limit state, which is the boundary between the acceptable and unacceptable design, is expressed mathematically by a limit state function with value greater than 0 for acceptable design, and less than 0 for unacceptable design. Through reliability analysis, the acceptable range of design variables that satisfy a reliability target is specified. Furthermore, through sensitivity analysis, a general procedure for optimization of the design target with respect to the design variables has been established.

가산 투엽법을 이용한 이동 물체 추적 방법 (A Moving Target Tracking Algorithm Using Integral Projection)

  • This paper deals with a tracking algorithm based on integral projection which tracks moving targets with varying brightness and size. An adaptive windowing technique is employed to reduce the sensitivity of the system to the complex background image and also to reduce the computational load. The threshold value is determined by considering both the size and the threshold value of the brightness intensity of the recognized target obtained in the previous processing step. Window position is estimated by using the information of the velocity and acceleration of the target. And integral projection is applied to find the position of the target in the window accurately. Experimental results show that moving targets with varying brightness and size can be tracked properly in noisy environments.

Tubulin Beta3 Serves as a Target of HDAC3 and Mediates Resistance to Microtubule-Targeting Drugs

  • We investigated the role of HDAC3 in anti-cancer drug-resistance. The expression of HDAC3 was decreased in cancer cell lines resistant to anti-cancer drugs such as celastrol and taxol. HDAC3 conferred sensitivity to these anti-cancer drugs. HDAC3 activity was necessary for conferring sensitivity to these anti-cancer drugs. The down-regulation of HDAC3 increased the expression of MDR1 and conferred resistance to anti-cancer drugs. The expression of tubulin ${\beta}3$ was increased in drug-resistant cancer cell lines. ChIP assays showed the binding of HDAC3 to the promoter sequences of tubulin ${\beta}3$ and HDAC6. HDAC6 showed an interaction with tubulin ${\beta}3$. HDAC3 had a negative regulatory role in the expression of tubulin ${\beta}3$ and HDAC6. The down-regulation of HDAC6 decreased the expression of MDR1 and tubulin ${\beta}3$, but did not affect HDAC3 expression. The down-regulation of HDAC6 conferred sensitivity to taxol. The down-regulation of tubulin ${\beta}3$ did not affect the expression of HDAC6 or MDR1. The down-regulation of tubulin ${\beta}3$ conferred sensitivity to anti-cancer drugs. Our results showed that tubulin ${\beta}3$ serves as a downstream target of HDAC3 and mediates resistance to microtubule-targeting drugs. Thus, the HDAC3-HDAC6-Tubulin ${\beta}$ axis can be employed for the development of anti-cancer drugs.

케이블교량의 부재 설계를 지배하는 하중조합에 대한 신뢰도지수 평가 (Evaluation of Reliability Index of Governing Load Combination for Design of Cable Supported Bridge Members)

  • 이 논문에서는 케이블교량 설계기준의 설계하중조합에 대한 신뢰도분석을 수행하였다. 설계기준에서 정의한 하중계수와 저항계수를 적용하여 설계된 실제 케이블교량을 대상으로 주 부재별 통계특성과 설계지배 하중조합을 분석하였다. 신뢰도분석을 통하여 하중조합별로 설정된 목표신뢰도지수를 확보됨을 확인하였고, 교량의 중요도를 상향할 수 있는 저항수정계수의 적용성을 검토하였다. 설계변수들이 신뢰도지수에 미치는 민감도 분석을 통하여 케이블의 신뢰도에 중요한 영향을 주는 요소를 분석하였다. 이를 통하여 설계기준의 안전계수들을 적용한 설계를 통하여 케이블교량의 목표신뢰도지수를 확보할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

인터넷 쇼핑몰에서 가격민감도와 구매후 만족도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Price Sensitivity and Postpurchase Satisfaction in Internet Shopping Mall)

  • Today, because of the consumers who should constantly decide which to buy in a flood of information can't search for complete information by the limited time and the lack of the ability in evaluating the goods, the price being important as the information clue in consumers' goods or dependence on the price will be gradually increasing. The purpose of this study is to know how much price sensitivity recognized by consumers will have and effect on buying feeling of satisfaction in internet shopping mall. The result of this study is that the consumers' target-oriented behavior searching appropriate price for buying goods in internet shopping mall substantially elevates the price sensitivity and shapes the positive attitude toward the feeling of satisfaction. It is meaningful in that it has provided the base for studying the price sensitivity centering around some limited factors through actual proof of how the consumers respond to the price at this point of activating online transactions.
