  • A rf reactive sputter deposition technique was adopted to deposit ferroelectric lead zirconate titanate (PZT) thin films with high rate from a ZrTi alloy target combined with PbO pellets. Deposition characterisitics including the effects of PbO are ratio were discussed. A new deposition mode called the quasi-metallic mode was observed. Perovskite PZT films were prepared at a growth temperature as low as$ 450^{\circ}C$. However, because the target structure is unstable, weproposed a mixture target consisted of Zr, Ti and PbO. Fundamental experiments were investigated using the powder target. Perovskite PZT film could be obtained at $450^{\circ}C$ with better electrical properties also.

  • In this paper, we propose an approach to apply network-based moving target defense into Internet of Things (IoT) networks. The IoT is a technology that provides the high interconnectivity of things like electronic devices. However, cyber security risks are expected to increase as the interconnectivity of such devices increases. One recent study demonstrated a man-in-the-middle attack in the statically configured IoT network. In recent years, a new approach to cyber security, called the moving target defense, has emerged as a potential solution to the challenge of static systems. The approach continuously changes system's attack surface to prevent attacks. After analyzing IPv4 / IPv6-based moving target defense schemes and IoT network-related technologies, we present our approach in terms of addressing systems, address mutation techniques, communication models, network configuration, and node mobility. In addition, we summarize the direction of future research in relation to the proposed approach.

  • An efficient large eddy simulation algorithm is used to compute surface pressure distributions on an eleven story (target) building on the NIST campus. Local meteorology, neighboring buildings, topography and large vegetation (trees) all play an important part in determining the flows and therefore the pressures experienced by the target. The wind profile imposed at the upstream surface of the computational domain follows a power law with an exponent representing a suburban terrain. This profile accounts for the flow retardation due to friction from the surface of the earth, but does not include fluctuations that would naturally occur in this flow. The effect of neighboring buildings on the time dependent surface pressures experienced by the target is examined. Comparison of the pressure fluctuations on the single target building alone with those on the target building in situ show that, owing to vortices shed by the upstream buildings, fluctuations are larger when such buildings are present. Even when buildings are lateral to or behind the target, the pressure disturbances generate significantly different flows around this building. A simple grid-free mathematical model of a tree is presented in which the trunk and the branches are each represented by a collection of spherical particles strung together like beads on a string. The drag from the tree, determined as the sum of the drags of the component particles, produces an oscillatory, spreading wake of slower fluid, suggesting that the behavior of trees as wind breakers can be modeled usefully.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to apply the attack surface expansion through decoy traps to a protected server network. The network consists of a large number of decoys and protected servers. In the network, each protected server dynamically mutates its IP address and port numbers based on Hidden Tunnel Networking that is a network-based moving target defense scheme. The moving target defense is a new approach to cyber security and continuously changes system's attack surface to prevent attacks. And, the attack surface expansion is an approach that uses decoys and decoy groups to protect attacks. The proposed method modifies the NAT table of the protected server with a custom chain and a RETURN target in order to make attackers waste all their time and effort in the decoy traps. We theoretically analyze the attacker success rate for the protected server network before and after applying the proposed method. The proposed method is expected to significantly reduce the probability that a protected server will be identified and compromised by attackers.

  • Indium tin oxide (ITO) has been commonly used as an anode for organic light emitting diode (OLED), because of its relatively high work function, high transmittance, and low resistance. The ITO was mostly deposited by capacitive type DC or RF sputtering. In this study we introduced a new facing target sputtering method. On applying this new sputtering method, the effect of fundamental deposition parameters such as substrate heating and post etching were investigated in relation to the resultant I-V-L characteristics of OLED. Three kinds of ITOs deposited at room temperature, at $400^{\circ}C$ and at $400^{\circ}C$ with after surface modification by $O_2$ plasma etching were compared. The OLED on ITO deposited with substrate heating and followed by etching showed better I-V-L characteristics, which starts to emit light at 4 volts and has luminescence of $65\;cd/m^2$ at 9 volts. The better I-V-L characteristics were ascribed to the relevant surface roughness with uniform micro-extrusions and to the equi-axed micromorphology of ITO surface.

  • This paper reports the structural and optical properties of ZnO/glass thin films grown by radio-frequency magnetron sputtering with a powder target. In contrast to ZnO ceramic target typically used, a ZnO raw powder target was sputtered in this study. ZnO grew with the (0002) preferred orientation along the surface normal direction. Initially, the surface of ZnO thin films was flat considerably and then it became rougher as the thickness increased. The optical transmittance was as high as 88% in the range of 400-1000 nm. The bandgap energy of 3.23 eV at the 220 nm thick sample was estimated.

  • In this paper, a performance comparison between CLOS(Command to Line-of-Sight) guidance law and PN(Proportional Navigation) guidance law is made, based on a short range surface-to-air missile simulation program called KNUCLOS. This simulation program has a full nonlinear aerodynamic missile model, a tracker model for missile and target, and target model. According to the simulation results, the PN guidance law has a better performance than CLOS guidance law under various target speed.

  • In this study, it has been tried to make the single Mo-Cu alloying targets with the Cu showing the best surface hardness that was determined by investigation on the coatings with the double target process. The single alloying targets were prepared by powder metallurgy methods such as mechanical alloying and spark plasma sintering. The nanocomposite coatings were prepared by reactive magnetron sputtering process with the single alloying targets in $Ar+N_2$ atmosphere. The microstructure changes of the Mo-Cu-N coatings with diverse Cu contents were investigated by using XRD, SEM and EDS. The mechanical properties of the coatings were evaluated by using nano-indentor, scratch test, and ball on disc methods. Especially, the coated samples were tested by using various lubricating oil to compare the property of anti wear-resistance. In this study, the nano-composite MoN-Cu coatings prepared using an alloying target was eventually compared with the coatings from the multiple targets.

  • In this study, numerical modeling was performed to analyze air flow including radiation heat transfer inside a small chamber. Characteristics of heat transfer between source plate and target through glass are investigated for various surface temperature of heat source plate with buoyancy effect due to gravity force. Conduction heat transfer through the glass is considered and heat source plate is assumed to be a black body. Target surface temperature is largely affected by the radiation heat transfer. It can also be seen that as the source temperature increases target surface is dominated by radiation rather than convective heat transfer by air.
