A Study on the Allowable Bearing Capacity of Pile by Driving Formulas (각종 항타공식에 의한 말뚝의 허용지지력 연구)

  • The estimation of pile bearing capacity is important since the design details are determined from the result. There are numerous ways of determining the pile design load, but only few of them are chosen in the actual design. According to the recent investigation in Korea, the formulas proposed by Meyerhof based on the SPT N values are most frequently chosen in the design stage. In the study, various static and dynamic formulas have been used in predicting the allowable bearing capacity of a pile. Further, the reliability of these formulas has been verified by comparing the perdicted values with the static and dynamic load test measurements. Also in cases, these methods of pile bearing capacity determination do not take the time effect consideration, the actual allowable load as determined from pile load test indicates severe deviation from the design value. The principle results of this study are summarized as follows : A a result of estimate the reliability in criterion of the Davisson method, in was showed that Terzaghi & Peck > Chin > Meyerhof > Modified Meyerhof method was the most reliable method for the prediction of bearing capacity. Comparisons of the various pile-driving formulas showed that Modified Engineering News was the most reliable method. However, a significant error happened between dynamic bearing capacity equation was judged that uncertainty of hammer efficiency, characteristics of variable , time effect etc... was not considered. As a result of considering time effect increased skin friction capacity higher than end bearing capacity. It was found out that it would be possible to increase the skin friction capacity 1.99 times higher than a driving. As a result of considering 7 day's time effect, it was obtained that Engineering News. Modified Engineering News. Recognition of Social Pre-parent Role & Educational Needs and Role Readiness for Unmarried Men and Women - IPA Analysis (미혼남녀의 사회적 부모역할 인식과 교육요구도 및 준비도 - IPA 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide basic data for the development of pre-parent education program by grasping parent role recognition, educational needs and readiness of unmarried men and women. The subjects were 196 unmarried male and female students from K-do. Data were collected from November 1st to 20th, 2018, and analyzed using IBM SPSS WIN/21.0 to get frequency, percentage, average, standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, sheffe-test, paired t-test, and IPA matrix. The average score of recognition of social pre-parent role was $3.41{\pm}0.27$ (out of 5 points), educational needs was $3.48{\pm}0.41$ points (out of 4 points), and educational readiness was $2.65{\pm}0.57$ points (out of 4 points). educational needs being higher than educational readiness. Through IPA matrix analysis, the area to be strengthened was 'family relation or parent role', and 'self understanding' was the area to encourage putting effort into other evaluation attributes. The area where no further effort is needed and needs improvement in the future was 'spouse selection and marriage', and 'pregnancy and childbirth' and 'child rearing' were the areas to intensively improve. Therefore, there is a need for establishing a standardized strategy in the area A, which has high degree of readiness and needs. Also, it is necessary to take strategies and countermeasures to raise the readiness of area C with low degree of readiness and needs, rather than accepting it as an unnecessary area of further effort input.

Meta-analysis of the MDM2 T309G Polymorphism and Gastric Cancer Risk

  • Background: Mdm2 binds to the amino-terminus of p53 to induce its degradation and a single nucleotide polymorphism in the MDM2 promoter region (T309G) has been reported to increase the risk of several carcinomas, such as gastric cancer. However, the results of published studies to analyze the association between MDM2 T309G and gastric cancer havve often conflicted. Methods: To better illustrate the filiation between MDM2 T309G and gastric cancer, we performed a meta-analysis. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were used to evaluate the strength of the relationship. The pooled ORs were performed for 4 models, additive, recessive, co-dominant model, and dominant. Results: Nine published case-control studies including 3,225 gastric cancer cases and 4,118 controls were identified. The MDM2 T309G polymorphism was associated with a significantly increased risk of gastric cancer risk when all studies were pooled into the meta-analysis (GG versus TT, OR=1.57; 95%CI=1.57-2.12; p=0.003) and GG versus GT/TT, OR=1.52; 95%CI=1.217-1.90; p<0.001). Furthermore, Egger's test did not show any evidence of publication bias (P = 0.608 for GG versus TT). Conclusion: Our results suggest that the MDM2 T309G polymorphism is indeed associated with a significantly increased risk of gastric cancer.

Relative Road Damage Analysis with Driving Modes of a Military Vehicle (군용차량의 주행모드에 따른 상대 노면 가혹도 분석)

  • A military vehicle is driven at different usage modes with the army application and servicing conditions. For practical durability validation, DT(Development Test) on a new military vehicle should be run up to the durability target kilometers on test courses in the specified proving ground. Driving velocities with test courses at the endurance mode of DT are established definitely. However, OT(Operational Test) and initial endurance test of production car can't be performed only in the DT courses due to the development period limit. Therefore, this paper focuses on the method to analyze the relative road damages between the endurance test in DT and other endurance test. Road load acquisition tests on KLTV(Korean Light Tactical Vehicle) were implemented at 15 driving modes in off-road and cross-country courses of two tests. Wheel accelerations were processed through band-pass filter, and then the main frequency and maximum power of the signals were computed by PSD analysis. Finally, using the proving ground optimization based on RDS(Relative Damage Spectrum) characterization, the damage factors between off-roads of test courses were determined.

A Study of the Clinical Utility of the Four Square Step Test for Predicting Falls in Stroke Patients (뇌졸중 환자의 낙상 예측을 위한 Four Square Step Test의 활용에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate the clinical utility of the Four square step test (FSST) for predicting falls in stroke patients, to compare the ability of the FSST test to discriminate between subgroups of fallers, and to determine if the test has any predictive value in identifying stroke patients who will fall. Methods: Stroke patients (N=37) who could walk at least 50 m with minimal assistance were recruited consecutively when attending a physical therapy session during their rehabilitation. Dynamic standing balance was measured using the FSST. The main outcome measures were FSST time and fall number. Numbers of falls were compared with FSST scores. Differences between the groups in FSST scores were examined using a t-test and 1-way analysis of variance. Post hoc analysis using the Tukey B procedure was used to identify specific group differences. Alpha was set at 0.05. Results: A total of 15 participants (40.5%) reported falls 6 had recurrent falls (2 falls) and 9 fell once. The mean FSST time differed significantly between groups with zero and multiple falls. A cutoff score of greater than 17 seconds on the FSST was associated with a sensitivity of 83% and a specificity of 84% for the identification of subjects with multiple risk factors for falls. Conclusion: The FSST is a feasible and valid clinical test of dynamic standing balance and can predict falls in post-stroke patients.

Impact of Self-Esteem and Test Anxiety on Mental Health among Nursing Students Taking the National Examination for Registered Nurses (간호대학생의 국가고시 관련 시험불안, 자아존중감과 정신건강에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between test anxiety, self-esteem and mental health. Method: Data were collected by structured questionnaires from 306 nursing students in a dormitory for the national examination for registered nurses. Collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, scheffe's test and Pearson's correlation coefficient and hierarchial multiple regression through the SPSS WIN program. Result: The results of the analysis showed that the mean for test anxiety was $79.70{\pm}18.74$ points, the degree of self-esteem was $28.26{\pm}5.02$, and mental health was $24.31{\pm}13.07$. In the correlation analysis, mental health positively correlated with test anxiety (r=.559, p=.000) and negatively correlated with self-esteem (r=-.141, p=.013). Test anxiety and subjective health status explained 36.4% of mental health. Conclusion: This finding of this study recommends that test anxiety control and self-esteem enhancement programs should be development for mental health promotion in nursing students taking the national examination for registered nurses.

  • Steering gear is the part of an automobile that change circular movement of steering wheel to lateral movement of rack to change driving direction. This can be classified with manual and power steering gear. Manual steering gear is operated only with human power while power steering gear use oil pressure support. These days power steering gear is more common to almost of the car. Recently a korean company manufactures a speed sensitive power steering which provide variable steering feel depend on the speed of car. The Broens company of Australia produces and exports the test equipments for the manufacture of power steering valves and assemblies to major vehicle manufactures. Some korean companies imported the test equipments from Australia, thus increasing the cost. The purpose of this study is development of the valve balance test equipment to measure the valve torque of the power steering gear. This study designed and manufactured the valve balance test equipment to take hold of the power steering valve using CAE analysis. In order to evaluate the performance of the developed valve balance test equipment, the R&R tests have been conducted.

Effect of Self-Efficacy and Socially Prescribed Perfectionism on Test Anxiety of Nursing Students (자기효능감, 사회부과 완벽주의가 간호대학생의 시험불안에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This descriptive research study investigated the effects of self-efficacy and socially prescribed perfectionism on test anxiety among nursing students. Methods: This study recruited nursing students at K University located in S city through convenience sampling. A survey was conducted from September 22 to November 4, 2020, using online web questionnaires. A total of 180 answers were analyzed. SPSS 22.0 was used to perform independent t-tests, one-way ANOVA, Scheffé post hoc analysis, Pearson's correlation, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The average test anxiety was 3.27 points out of 6 points. The general self-efficacy was 3.81 points out of 5 points; social self-efficacy was 3.58 points and socially imposed perfectionism was 2.79 points out of 5 points. Variables affecting test anxiety were socially prescribed perfectionism, sex, academic stress, and general self-efficacy, and the explanatory power of these variables was 30.9%. Conclusion: It was confirmed that academic stress, general self-efficacy, and social imposition perfectionism were factors affecting test anxiety among nursing students. Therefore, it is necessary to develop and provide a program to control the factors affecting test anxiety in nursing students to lower test anxiety.

The effect of satisfaction for on-board training on the training ship to the career motivation (실습선 승선실습 만족이 해기 교육생의 진로 동기에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, we investigated how satisfaction with on-board training had an effect on career motivation of the trainees. For this purpose, satisfaction for on-board training and career motivation were used as variables. Satisfaction for on-board training were classified into education, environment and operation, and then measurement items were composed. Career motivation consisted of career identity, career insight and career resilience. To establish and test nine hypotheses, a questionnaire survey was conducted by 57 trainees who participated in the Gyeongsang National University on-board sailing training in 2021. To analyze the questionnaire responses, frequency analysis, factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and paired sample t-test were used. As a result of factor analysis, six factors for satisfaction for on-board training were derived. Among the factors, it was analyzed that satisfaction with assignments, the satisfaction with accommodation, and the satisfaction with the adequate condition of facilities and equipment had a significant effect on career motivation. In addition, it was found that career motivation significantly increased through on-board training as a result of comparing the difference between the averages of career motivation before and after on-board training.

A Study on the Digital Literacy and Life Satisfaction of Middle-Aged and Older People (중·장년층의 디지털리터러시와 삶의 만족도에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims to determine the impact of digital literacy skills of middle-aged and older people using public libraries on their life satisfaction. For this study, a survey was conducted on 192 middle-aged and older people aged 40 to 64 living in area G. The collected data were analyzed using the statistical package SPSS 27 program. The analysis methods in this study included frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test for post-hoc analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, digital literacy competency has a significant positive impact on the life satisfaction of middle-aged and older adults; as their digital literacy skills improve, their life satisfaction increases. Second, digital literacy competency varies based on gender, education level, employment status, and average monthly income, influencing their engagement in activities such as study or work. Additionally, higher levels of digital literacy competency, as determined by the highest level of education, positively affect life satisfaction, leisure activities, and cultural life.
