셀기반 평활화 유한요소법에 기반한 위상분야법을 이용한 준취성 및 취성 파괴 시뮬레이션 (Quasi-brittle and Brittle Fracture Simulation Using Phase-field Method based on Cell-based Smoothed Finite Element Method)

  • 본 연구에서는 평활화 유한요소법(Smoothed finite element method)을 도입한 위상분야법(Phase-field method)에 대해 소개하고자 한다. 위상분야법은 최근 균열 개시 및 전파 해석에 많이 사용되는 기법으로 균열 표면을 추적하기 위한 추가적인 처리기법이 필요하지 않는 특징이 있다. 위상분야법에서 복잡한 균열 전파를 포착하기 위해 높은 정확도의 변형률 에너지를 평활화 유한요소법을 도입하여 계산하였다. 평활화 유한요소법은 유한요소를 하위 셀로 나누고 각각의 하위 셀을 평활화 영역으로 재조립하여 변형률 에너지를 계산하게 된다. 또한 해석 시간 단축을 위하여 쿼드트리 요소망을 제안한 기법에 사용하였다. 수치 예제를 통하여 제안한 기법을 참조해 및 유한요소법과 비교하여 검증하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 평활화 유한요소법(Smoothed finite element method)을 도입한 응력 기반 구배 탄성론(Gradient elasticity)의 2차원 경계치 문제에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 구배 탄성론은 기존 탄성론에서는 표현할 수 없는 미소규모의 크기 의존적인 기계적 거동을 설명하기 위해 제안되었다. 구배 탄성체론에서 고차 미분 방정식을 두 개의 2차 미분 방정식으로 분할하는 Ru-Aifantis 이론을 사용하기 때문에 평활화 유한요소법에 적용이 가능하게 된다. 본 연구에서 경계치 문제를 해결하기 위해 평활화 유한 요소 프레임워크에 스태거드 방식(Staggered scheme)을 사용하여 국부 변위장과 비국부 응력장을 평활화 영역 및 요소에서 각각 계산하였다. 구배 탄성에서 중요한 변수인 내부 길이 척도의 영향을 측정하기 위해 일련의 수치 예제를 수행하였다. 수치 해석 결과는 제안한 기법이 내부 길이 척도에 따라 균열 선단과 전위 선에 나타나는 응력 집중을 완화할 수 있음을 보여준다.

Strain-based structural condition assessment of an instrumented arch bridge using FBG monitoring data

  • The structural strain plays a significant role in structural condition assessment of in-service bridges in terms of structural bearing capacity, structural reliability level and entire safety redundancy. Therefore, it has been one of the most important parameters concerned by researchers and engineers engaged in structural health monitoring (SHM) practices. In this paper, an SHM system instrumented on the Jiubao Bridge located in Hangzhou, China is firstly introduced. This system involves nine subsystems and has been continuously operated for five years since 2012. As part of the SHM system, a total of 166 fiber Bragg grating (FBG) strain sensors are installed on the bridge to measure the dynamic strain responses of key structural components. Based on the strain monitoring data acquired in recent two years, the strain-based structural condition assessment of the Jiubao Bridge is carried out. The wavelet multi-resolution algorithm is applied to separate the temperature effect from the raw strain data. The obtained strain data under the normal traffic and wind condition and under the typhoon condition are examined for structural safety evaluation. The structural condition rating of the bridge in accordance with the AASHTO specification for condition evaluation and load and resistance factor rating of highway bridges is performed by use of the processed strain data in combination with finite element analysis. The analysis framework presented in this study can be used as a reference for facilitating the assessment, inspection and maintenance activities of in-service bridges instrumented with long-term SHM system.

  • This paper is the study of methodology for development of interface structure modules for an integrated system or steel framework structures. For development of the modules, it is used that data translation for the Steel Detail Neutral File(SDNF) format and the methodology have contacted individual systems in integrated system. The point of methology is translated system interface data with ASCⅡ format of system output and is presented with EXPRESS-G schema model. In the future, these neutral format will use structural design, engineering, facilities management, fabrication, etc. Therefore such a series of neutral formants is valuable to development of all structure fields.

  • The drastic structural changes in telecommunications industry are imposing new strains on operators, regulators and customers. Many researchers have offered diverse frameworks for the changes from the perspectives of sociology, technology, and/or economics. However, there have been few attempts to document the competitive phenomena from management perspectives because of the technological complexities and dynamism in the fundamental transition of competition. In this study, we examine competitive environment in telecommunications industry, and identified five structural elements; telecom operator, competitors, regulation, suppliers, and customer demand. The suggested framework is used to provide a basis for explaining the changes in the characteristics of individual elements and the interactions among them. The dynamic industry-specific changes will be explained through an evolutionary model. We specify the characteristics of progressive stages and the determinants of the evolution. Changes are reviewed in terms of five criteria; regulations and competitions, value chain, technology, customers demand, and internal operations. The result of this study will be useful in analyzing and predicting industry structure and major participants' strategic behaviors and decision patterns. This study can alse be extended to other industries facing dynamic structural changes.

Structural dynamics: Convergence properties in the presence of damage and applications to masonry structures

  • A numerical model for masonry is proposed by following an internal variable approach originally developed in the field of elastic-plastic analysis. The general features of the theoretical framework are discussed by focussing on finite element models applicable to incremental elastic-plastic problems. An extremum property is derived and its implications in terms of convergence for convenient algorithms are briefly discussed, by including the case of softening materials and damage effects. Next, a numerical model is presented, which is suitable for masonry, can be developed according to the same internal variable formulation and enjoys similar properties. Some numerical results are presented and compared with the response of a masonry shear wall subjected to pseudodynamic tests.

Customer Service Evaluation based on Online Text Analytics: Sentiment Analysis and Structural Topic Modeling

  • Purpose Social media such as social network services, online forums, and customer reviews have produced a plethora amount of information online. Yet, the information deluge has created both opportunities and challenges at the same time. This research particularly focuses on the challenges in order to discover and track the service defects over time derived by mining publicly available online customer reviews. Design/methodology/approach Synthesizing the streams of research from text analytics, we apply two stages of methods of sentiment analysis and structural topic model incorporating meta-information buried in review texts into the topics. Findings As a result, our study reveals that the research framework effectively leverages textual information to detect, prioritize, and categorize service defects by considering the moving trend over time. Our approach also highlights several implications theoretically and practically of how methods in computational linguistics can offer enriched insights by leveraging the online medium.

우리나라 주요 철도노선의 수송생산성 변화 (Productivity growth of Korean Railway Lines)

  • This paper investigates the productivity growth in Korean railway lines. The productivity growth is calculated by a process of measuring of pure efficiency change index(PECI), scale efficiency change index(SECI), and technical change index(TCI), using Data envelopment analysis (DEA) method. The data cover the period 1990~2007; 1990~2003 are the pre-structural reform years and the post-structural reform years are 2005~2007. The framework for the analysis is Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) of the to investigate the impacts of structural reform on productivity growth, respectively. The inputs considered are the length of operating line, the number of staff, the number of coach and wagon, and the outputs are the trains movement of passenger and freight, and the traffic of passenger and freight.

기업의 사회적 자본, 지식경영활동, 그리고 성과 간의 구조적 인과관계 (A Structural Causal Relationship of Social Capital, Knowledge Management, and Organizational Performance)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of knowledge management on the organizational performance by using structural equation model and to suggest new integrated framework about knowledge management by understanding the determinants of organizational capability to knowledge management in social capital point of view. To serve the purpose of this study, we conducted the extensive survey on 256 Korean companies in diverse industries including the manufacturing. Specifically, from the empirical result of this study, we identified that knowledge management performs more actively as the level of social capital increases, and the company that achieve knowledge management actively shows relatively higher performance than one that do not. On the other hand, among the sub-factors composing the social capital, Vision/Purpose/Value and Norms of Reciprocity directly affect to the organizational performance without knowledge management.

  • In the present study, we propose the framework which directly links shell finite element to the surface geometric modeling. For the development of a robust shell element, partial mixed variational functional is provided. The NURBS is used to generate the general free form of parameterized shell surfaces. Employment of NURBS makes shell finite element handle the arbitrary geometry of the smooth shell surfaces. The proposed shell finite element model linked with NURBS surface representation provides efficiency for design and analysis and can be directly extended to surface shape optimization problems in future work.
