간호사의 자아상과 간호업무성과와의 관계에서 셀프리더십의 조절효과 (The Moderating Effect of Self-leadership in Relationship between Self-image and Work Performance of Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of the research is to investigate the effect of self-image on work performance and controlling ability of self-leadership in relationship in between self-image and work performance. Methods: The data were collected from Mar 16th to April 15th 2009, a descriptive survey study was conducted with 140 nurses. Results: The hypothesis "Self image of nurse would affect on work performance" is supported ($R^2$=.335, p<.001). In the hypothesis of "Self-leadership would have controlling ability on self-image and work performance", as a result of regression analysis in independent variables of self-image(A) and self-leadership(B), adding relation of both variable($A{\times}B$) would increase in 36.6% (p<.05). Conclusion: Self-image of nurse was confirmed that it had positive effect on work performance and that it had moderating ability on relationship between self-image and work performance. The shaping and strategic operation are required to increase self-leadership and positive development on self-image of nursed.

Service Innovation Strategic Consensus: A Lesson from the Islamic Banking Industry in Indonesia

  • This study aims to analyze the agreement of service innovation using contingency approach (manager personality, organizational structure) moderated by leadership agility. The study has been carried out on Islamic banking companies' managers in Indonesia, from East Java and Yogyakarta region using purposive sampling technique with questionnaire and interviews as the method of data collection. The total number of respondents in the sample is 184. This sample is then analyzed using Euclidience Distance Simple Regression and Simple Regression Moderation method. The results prove that: (1) there is a partial fit between incremental strategy with reactive personality and mechanical organizational structure, which increases the service performance; (2) there is a partial fit between radical strategy with proactive personality and organic organizational structure, which increases the service performance; (3) leadership agility is able to strengthen the fit of the relationship between incremental innovation strategy and reactive personality toward service performance; (4) leadership agility is able to strengthen the fit the relationship between radical innovation strategy and proactive personality toward service performance; (5) leadership agility is able to strengthen the fit of the relationship between incremental innovation strategy and mechanical organizational structure toward service performance; and (6) leadership agility is able to strengthen the fit of the relationship between radical innovation strategy and organic organizational structure toward service performance.

Investigating the Process of Developing and Retaining Competent IT Personnel: The Role of IT Leadership

  • Given the critical role of information technology (IT) in achieving organizations' strategic goals, it becomes increasingly important for organizations to develop and retain a competent IT workforce. We investigate how organizations make IT personnel feel content with their job, motivate them to perform at their best, and consequently retain them. We develop a model in which IT leadership, conceptualized as "transformational" and "transactional" IT leader behaviors, influences IT personnel's perceptions of requisite soft skills and IT personnel's Quality-of-Work-Life (QWL), and how IT personnel's QWL in turn affects IT personnel's intention to stay. Using survey data from 205 IT professionals, we found that IT leadership behaviors, particularly transformational leadership behaviors, positively influence IT personnel's intention to stay. We also found that this relationship is fully mediated by IT personnel's QWL. In addition, we found that transformational leadership behaviors positively influence IT personnel's perceptions of requisite soft skills. We discuss the implications of our findings for theory and practice.

CIO의 리더십 균형성이 IS 성과에 미치는 영향 (A Study on the Impact of CIO Leadership Versatility on the IS Performance)

  • CIO는 전산부서의 관리자가 아니라 경영자로서의 역할을 하도록 요구하고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 CIO 리더십 스타일과 IS 성과와의 관계를 알아보고자 하였다. CIO 리더십 스타일을 추진목표와 추진방법에 따라 분류하고 이들 간에 어떠한 차이가 있는지를 실증적으로 분석하였다. 리더십을 추진목표 관점 및 업무추진방법 관점에서 각각 병행적 리더십과 절충적 리더십을 추가함으로써 이중성(duality) 관점에서의 리더십 균형성에 대한 연구를 제시함으로써 기존의 리더십 관점과 다른 관점에서 분류하는 새로운 접근법을 제안하였다. 결과적으로 CIO 리더십이 효과적이기 위해서는 상황에 맞게 추진목표 및 추진방법 관점에서의 리더십이 발휘되는 것이 중요하며 이러한 점은 CIO 직제와 권위에 중요한 시사점을 제시하고 있다.

대형할인점에 대응하는 중소 소매점의 경쟁전략, 마케팅 역량 그리고 소매성과 (Small and Medium-Sized Stores′ Competitive Strategies, Marketing Capabilities, and Retail Performance: Competing against Mass Merchandisers)

  • 본 연구에서는 대형 머천다이저의 위협이라는 적대적 환경에 대응하는 중소 소매점의 경쟁전략, 전략집단, 마케팅역량 그리고 소매성과의 상호관계를 실증적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 위의 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 전국에 있는 325개의 중소 소매점을 대상으로 자료를 수집하였다. 중소 소매점들이 추구하는 경쟁전략은 가격우위, 머천다이즈 차별화, 서비스차별화 등의 세 가지 경쟁전략으로 뚜렷하게 구분되었고, 군집분석을 통하여 분류된 전략군집은 속수무책 유형, 서비스차별화 유형, 가격우위 유형, 그리고 머천다이즈 차별화 유형으로 나타났다. 분석결과 가격우위군집과 머천다이즈 차별화군집 심지어 속수무책군집도 환경의 적대성을 낮게 지각하는 중소 소매점들이 높게 지각하는 점포들보다 유의하게 높은 소매성과를 달성하였다. 반면에 전략군집과 적대성의 상호작용에 따른 조절효과는 유의하게 소매성과에 영향을 미치지 못하였다. 또한 마케팅역량에서는 머천다이즈 차별화 군집, 가격우위 군집, 서비스차별화 군집, 속수무책 군집 순서로 마케팅역량을 높게 획득하였다. 마지막으로 중소 소매점들의 매출액 성장률 등의 점포성과는 머천다이즈 차별화 군집이 가장 높게 나타났으나 가격우위 군집과 서비스차별화 군집의 소매성과는 유의한 차이가 없었다.

  • IT governance is an integral part of enterprise governance and consists of the leadership, organizational structures, and processes that ensure organization's IT decision making for achieving organizational goal. Most firms have failed to resolve the balance in building IT governance. The challenge is to align IT strategy with business strategy in establishing and implementing effective IT governance. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between IT governance implementation factors and IS effectiveness, and the moderating effect of strategic alignment of IS strategy with business strategy on IS effectiveness. IT governance implementation factors consist of IT vendor management, IT human resource management, and IT infrastructure. Strategic alignment was measured as the alignment between business strategic orientation and IS strategic orientation that used in the research of Chan et al.(1997). In the relationship between three IT governance implementation factors and IS effectiveness, the results of multiple regression analyses showed that IT human resource management is an important determinant to influence IS effectiveness. The additional analysis using multiple regression showed that strategic alignment of IS strategy with business strategy has moderated the relationship between IT governance implementation factors and IS effectiveness.

국내대학의 산학협력단장의 리더십에 관한 연구 (A Study on University-Industry Collaboration Team Lenders' Leadership in Korean Universities)

  • 국내 대학 및 산업계의 경제상황하에서 정부는 최근 어려운 경제상황의 회복뿐만 아니라 대학졸업생들의 취업률을 높이기 위하여 산학협력을 강조하고 있다. 대학의 산학협력단의 활성화를 통하여 대학, 산업계, 지역사회 및 국가경제 등의 발전을 이끌어내기 위해서는 먼저 다양한 구성원의 개인적인 행동과 조직의 목표를 연결해 주고 구성원의 조직행동에도 큰 영향을 미치는 산학협력단장의 리더십의 중요성을 인식해야 할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 기존의 리더십 및 산학협력에 관한 문헌자료를 통하여 대학의 교수진과 산업계의 최고경영자 및 연구진들을 관리하며 조직의 목표를 달성하는데 요구되는 산학협력단장의 전략적인 리더십을 제안하고자 한다.

조직 내 민주성이 사회적 자본의 형성에 미치는 영향: 서번트 리더십의 조절효과 (The Impact of Workplace Democracy on Social Capital: The Moderating Effect of Servant Leadership)

  • Purpose - Unlike in the past, individualistic thought is more dominant than groupism where members prioritize organizations. Such changes run counter to the direction of the survival of the companies, which calls for companies to explore strategies to address thems. As one of the solutions, many people highlights social capital. However, since most studies have been conducted on the definition and characteristics of social capital, there is not enough prior factor research on the formation of social capital. So the current situation require researches on the formation of social capital. Research design, data, and methodology - To achieve the purpose, the literature and the empirical studies were combined. Deriving workplace democracy and servant leadership as factors affecting the formation of social capital through the literature, and this factors have modeled assumptions about the impact on social capital, and have established hypotheses to verify them. The survey which is conducted to verify the hypothesis and questionnaires are derived base on the variables used in the previous studies. The survey was conducted 447 respondents in Korea. Results - As a result, we found that the workplace democracy is positively functioning with the formation of social capital. It means that the democracy functions as a universal element to enhance the quality of social capital at the workplace. The evidence also shows that the positive impacts of the servant leadership on the formation of social capital. And the survey shows that groups with high level servant leadership had a higher impact on the formation of social capital than those with low levels leadership. Conclusions - At present, the social capital has become an important factor for the companies pursuing high performance workplaces. We found that the workplace democracy and the servant leadership affect the formation of social capital. It means that to increase the employees' sense of community and solidarity, it is need to form democratic environment with the servant leadership. Therefore, based on the results of this study, the workplace democracy and the servant leadership can present strategic implications that can increase the social capital.
