When the aircraft is developed, several flight tests are performed including stability and controllability, performance and systems, above all the most important part of the flight test is stability test. Stability test is divided into two parts, static stability and dynamic stability. Static stability of the aircraft is typically defined in terms of its initial tendency to return to equilibrium after a disturbance and not included time concept. One of static stability, longitudinal static stability, was addressed here. The longitudinal static stability was studied from the basic theory to the flight test method and also explained data reduction method throughout the flight test. Finally showed how to meet the specifications such as ROC, FAR and MIL-specifications.

This paper presents an improved group of energy functions reflecting generator damping effects for multi-machine power systems by using Center of Inertia (COI) formulation as an extension of the previous work. Since rotor angles at the Stable Equilibrium Point (SEP) of post-fault systems are generally calculated in COI, system transient energy can be found without assumption of infinite or slack bus, which is a crucial drawback of the absolute rotor angle frame approach. The developed energy functions have a structure preserving property with which it is very flexible to incorporate various models of power system components, especially various load and generator models. The proposed damping-reflected energy functions are applied to the Potential Energy Boundary Surface (PEBS) method, one of the direct methods. Numerical simulation of WSCC 9-bus shows that conservativeness of the PEBS method can be considerably reduced.
In this paper, the following fourth-order rational difference equation $$x_{n+1}=\frac{{x_n^b}+x_n-2x_{n-3}^b+a}{{x_n^bx_{n-2}+x_{n-3}^b+a}$$, n=0, 1, 2,..., where a, b ${\in}$ [0, ${\infty}$) and the initial values $X_{-3},\;X_{-2},\;X_{-1},\;X_0\;{\in}\;(0,\;{\infty})$, is considered and the rule of its trajectory structure is described clearly out. Mainly, the lengths of positive and negative semicycles of its nontrivial solutions are found to occur periodically with prime period 15. The rule is $1^+,\;1^-,\;1^+,\;4^-,\;3^+,\;1^-,\;2^+,\;2^-$ in a period, by which the positive equilibrium point of the equation is verified to be globally asymptotically stable.

This paper investigates the characteristics of unstable behaviour and critical buckling load by joint rigidity of framed large spatial structures which are sensitive to initial conditions. To distinguish the stable from the unstable, a singular point on equilibrium path and a critical buckling level are computed by the eigenvalues and determinants of the tangential stiffness matrix. For the case study, a two-free node example and a folded plate typed long span example with 325 nodes are adopted, and these adopted examples' nonlinear analysis and unstable characteristics are analyzed. The numerical results in the case of the two-free node example indicate that as the influence of snap-through is bigger; that of bifurcation buckling is lower than that of the joint rigidity as the influence of snap-through is lower. Besides, when the rigidity decreases, the critical buckling load ratio increases. These results are similar to those of the folded-typed long span example. When the buckling load ratio is 0.6 or less, the rigidity greatly increases.

In this research a controller based on velocity estimator for a Wheeled Inverted Pendulum (WIP) is designed and various numerical simulation studies are carried out. The WIP has stable and unstable equivalent points. To Keep the unstable equilibrium point, a controller should control carefully the wheels persistently. There are angle, angular velocity, displacement, and velocity of the WIP for controller inputs. The velocity is obtained by differentiating the encoder signals from the motor and is subject to the resolution of the encoder. An improved velocity detection method is proposed based on low resolution encoder and velocity estimator. Various numerical simulations are carried out for showing the validation of the velocity estimator in case of the inclined road condition.

Investors have increasingly become interested in macroeconomic antecedents in order to better understand the investment environment and estimate the scope of profitable investment in equity markets. This study endeavors to examine the interdependency between the macroeconomic antecedents (international oil price (COP), Domestic gold price (GP), Rupee-dollar exchange rates (ER), Real interest rates (RIR), consumer price indices (CPI)), and the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 index return. The data is converted into a natural logarithm for keeping it normal as well as for reducing the problem of heteroscedasticity. Monthly time series data from January 1992 to July 2019 is extracted from the Reserve Bank of India database with the application of financial Econometrics. Breusch-Godfrey serial correlation LM test for removal of autocorrelation, Breusch-Pagan-Godfrey test for removal of heteroscedasticity, Cointegration test and VECM test for testing cointegration between macroeconomic factors and market returns,] are employed to fit regression model. The Indian market returns are stable and positive but show intense volatility. When the series is stationary after the first difference, heteroskedasticity and serial correlation are not present. Different forecast accuracy measures point out macroeconomics can forecast future market returns of the Indian stock market. The step-by-step econometric tests show the long-run affiliation among macroeconomic antecedents.
The first demographic transition refers to the historical decline in mortality and fertility, as shown from the 18th Century in several European populations, and continuing present in most developing countries. The end point of the first demographic transition(FDT) was supposed to be a stationary and stable population corresponding with replacement fertility and zero population growth. In addition, households in all parts of the world would converge toward the nuclear and conjugal types, composed of married couples and their offspring. The second demographic transition(SDT), on the other hand, sees no such equilibrium as the end-point. Rather, new developments bring sub-replacement fertility, a multitude of living arrangements other than marriage, and the disconnection between marriage and procreation. Populations would face declining sizes if not complemented by new migrants. Over the last decades birth rates have been on the decline in all countries of the world, and it is estimated that already more than half of he world's population has below replacement level fertility. Measured in terms of the Total Fertility Rate (TFR), currently 34 countries have fertility levels of 1.5 or less. Similarly, Korea has been below lowest-low fertility for eight consecutive years since 2001 and below the replacement level for more than twenty years. In explaining the low fertility in Korea, some researchers explain the low fertility as revenge against a male-dominated society and institution, while others focus the impact of the employment instability. These studies share the basic ideas (spread of individualism, delayed marriage and childbearing, high divorce rate etc.) of a second demographic transition in order to explain the low fertility in Korea.

The weir to regulate water level in a tide generation tank is above and below carried by two electric cylinders which are mounted on right and left of weir itself. In this case, a movement difference between right and left cylinder causes unbalance of weir and friction between weir and guide. And then, the weir will not be sent to target point. In this study, a synchronous control system is developed to take accurate and quick equilibrium of the weir. The control system based on cross coupled structure consists of two I-PD controllers and a lead compensator. Each of the I-PD controllers is designed in order that the electric cylinder may exactly follow the reference signal without overshoot and input saturation. And the lead compensator is designed to achieve stable and accurate synchronization. Finally, the simulation result shows that the designed synchronous control system is effective for elimination of synchronous error.

The majority of real-world problems encountered by engineers involve simultaneous optimization of competing objectives. In this case instead of single optima, there is a set of alternative trade-offs, generally known as Pareto-optimal solutions. The use of evolutionary algorithms Pareto GA, which was first introduced by Goldberg in 1989, has now become a sort of standard in solving Multiobjective Optimization Problems (MOPs). Though this approach was further developed leading to numerous applications, these applications are based on Pareto ranking and employ the use of the fitness sharing function to maintain diversity. Another scheme for solving MOPs has been presented by J. Nash to solve MOPs originated from Game Theory and Economics. Sefrioui introduced the Nash Genetic Algorithm in 1998. This approach combines genetic algorithms with Nash's idea. Another central achievement of Game Theory is the introduction of an Evolutionary Stable Strategy, introduced by Maynard Smith in 1982. In this paper, we will try to find ESS as a solution of MOPs using our game model based co-evolutionary algorithm. First, we will investigate the validity of our co-evolutionary approach to solve MOPs. That is, we will demonstrate how the evolutionary game can be embodied using co-evolutionary algorithms and also confirm whether it can reach the optimal equilibrium point of a MOP. Second, we will evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, comparing it with other methods through rigorous experiments on several MOPs.

In this paper we deal with the virtually zero power control for the rigid rotor with radial suspension by the permanent magnetic bearing and axial suspension by electromagnetic bearing. The purpose of the virtually zero power control is to reduce the power consumption of the electromagnetic bearings. The axial active force is expressed by the normal second order equation which has only one degree-of-freedom. The virtually zero power control structure has two schemes. One is the coil control current integrator which is used to make the convergence of the control current to a range which is very close to zero. By using the current integrator the DC component which is included in the control current is eliminated, thus the control current converges to a range which is close to zero. The other is normal PD control loop which is used to make the rotor reach to stable equilibrium point and to maintain air gap so that the axial force produced by radial permanent magnet always balances the total weight of the rotor and its load. First we show a simple mathematical plant model and the virtually zero power (VZP) control blocks. Second, we investigate the theoretical feasibility and the stability of the proposed virtually zero Power control levitation system with PD feedback loop by using linear control theory Finally we show the effectiveness of the proposed control method to reduce the power consumption by simulations.
