  • Objective: The aim of the study was to investigate the age-related ability of dynamic balance recovery through perturbation response during standing. Method: Six older and 6 younger adults participated in this study. External perturbation during standing as pulling force applied at the pelvic level in the anterior direction was provided to the subject. The margin of stability was quantified as a measure of postural stability or dynamic balance recovery, and using principal component analysis (PCA), the regularity of the margin of stability (MoS) was calculated. Results: Our results showed that in the older adult group, 60.99% and 28.63% of the total variance were captured using the first and second principal components (PCs), respectively, and in the younger adult group, 81.95% and 10.71% of the total variance were captured using the first and second PCs, respectively. Conclusion: Ninety percent of the total variance captured using the first two PCs indicates that the older adults had decreased regularity of the MoS than the younger adults. Thus, the results of the present study suggest that aging is associated with non-regularity of dynamic postural stability.

  • This paper deals with the analysis of 6T SRAM cell stability for Hi-speed processing Ternary Content Addressable Memory. The higher the operation frequency, the smaller CMOS technology required in the designed TCAM because the purpose of TCAM is high-speed data processing. Decrease of Supply voltage is one cause of unstable TCAM operation. Thus, We should design TCAM through analysis of SRAM cell stability. In this paper we propose methodology to characterize the Static Noise Margin of 6T SRAM. All simulations of the TCAM have been carried out in 180nm CMOS process technology.

  • A novel method is proposed to construct the voltage stability boundary of power system considering different Reactive Power Control Mode (RPCM) of Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) Wind Power Plant (WPP). It can be used for reflecting the static stability status of grid operation with wind power penetration. The analytical derivation work of boundary search method can expound the mechanism and parameters relationship of different WPP RPCMs. In order to improve the load margin and find a practical method to assess the voltage security of power system, the approximate method of constructing voltage stability boundary and the critical points search algorithms under different RPCMs of DFIG WPP are explored, which can provide direct and effective reference data for operators.

  • Degraded data stability, weaker write ability, and increased leakage power consumption are the primary concerns in scaled static random-access memory (SRAM) circuits. Two new SRAM cells are proposed in this paper for achieving enhanced read data stability and lower leakage power consumption in memory circuits. The bitline access transistors are asymmetrically gate-underlapped in the proposed SRAM cells. The strengths of the asymmetric bitline access transistors are weakened during read operations and enhanced during write operations, as the direction of current flow is reversed. With the proposed hybrid asymmetric SRAM cells, the read data stability is enhanced by up to 71.6% and leakage power consumption is suppressed up to 15.5%, while displaying similar write voltage margin and maintaining identical silicon area as compared to the conventional memory cells in a 15 nm FinFET technology.

  • On-line dynamic security assessment is becoming more and more important for the stable operation of power systems as load level increases. The necessity is getting apparent under Electricity Market environments, as operation of power system is exposed to more various operating conditions. For on-line dynamic security assessment, fast transient stability analysis tool is required for contingency selection. The TEF(Transient Energy Function) method is a good candidate for this purpose. The clustering of critical generators is crucial for the precise and fast calculation of energy margin. In this paper, we propose a new method for fast decision of mode of instability by using stability indices. Case study shows very promising results.

  • This paper presents a functional ability improvement of auto-reclosing relay in the power transmission line protection. When the high speed auto-reclosing is successful, Auto-reclosing is practically valuable to improve the transient stability limit of a power system, but it is fail due to surviving fault, both electrical and mechanical stresses can result on the transformers and turbine-generator. It is true that the longer dead time of the reclosing relay gives the higher rate of successful reclosing, On the other hand, the power system does not always need high speed reclosing because of enough stability margin. This paper proposed "stability margin based dead time reclosing" in order to decrease not only the rate of unsuccessful reclosing, but the possibility of the harmful stress also. On-line transient stability assessment using artificial neural network, for implementing the proposed scheme, has studied and tested with resonable results.

  • In this paper, we developed a quadruped walking robot, FRAMIX-T, with insectile leg mechanism and we inspected the efficiency of it in detail. In robotics, the legs of insect type are appropriate for the stability and the agile movement. So we first performed a gait analysis using duty factor, stride, phase etc., and analyzed the stability margin to improve the stability of robot. On the basis of this research, we planned the wave gait suitable for FRAMIX-T and performed a walking experiment. From this result, we proved the high efficiency using insectile leg mechanism and the possibility of walking with improved stability and mobility.

  • In this paper, We design low-order controller to achieve maximized controller stability margin and controller' Performance. FOPA(Fixed Order Pole Assignment) method is one of the approach to design controller in the parametric uncertain system. But the method to define a Target Polynomial is not explicit1y Known. In this paper, our goal is to find a controller Coefficient, such that performance and $l_2$ stability margin are maximized in the parametric uncertain system. Using Lipatove theorem and CDM(Coefficient Diagram Method), we set target polynomial constraints and design a controller which maximizes $l_2$ stability margin. we show effectiveness of the proposed controller design method by comparing $l_2$ stability many of the desired controller with that of the conventional robust controller.
