  • Obesity is one of the biggest problem in modern society. Smartphone could be a good tool to handle this problem. In this paper, we propose a new smartphone app to recommend diet, to offer a physical practice by motion games. Our Android smartphone application encourages friends to join group fitness programs. It interfaces with social network services and smart-TV.

운동에 영향을 끼치는 피트니스 앱 요인 연구 (What Makes People Walk Using a Fitness App?)

  • Purpose An increase in the number of fitness apps across the world is a testament to the growing interest in health. As focus on medical services shifted from treatment to prevention, this type of app plays an essential role in promoting one's health and exercise management. Yet little has been known about practical effects of fitness apps in existing literature thus this study searches for factors that affect daily use of fitness apps and examine the relationship between app usage and exercise patterns. Design/methodology/approach This study surveyed people who used Cashwalk, the pedometer app for a minimum of a week to analyze reasons why they used the app. Particpants' exercise patterns were also recorded. By examining survey results of fitness app users and developing a research model based on the Customer Value Theory, this study provides real-life factors to the fitness and smart health care industry that will adopt a proactive lifestyle pattern. Findings Empirical analysis proved properties such as the complexity of fitness apps, monetary rewards, exercise monitoring and the enjoyment of using fitness apps contribute to using fitness apps on a daily basis. Furthermore, more daily use of fitness apps was shown to have a greater impact on exercise. This study also confirmed that social comparison does not affect the daily use of fitness apps and the amount of exercise, and the habitual walking was proved to directly affect the amount of exercise.

  • The development of information technology leads to changes in various industries. In particular, the health care industry is more influenced so that it is focused on. With the widening of the health care market, the market of smart device based personal health care also draws attention. Since a variety of fitness applications for smartphone based exercise were introduced, more interest has been in the health care industry. But although an amount of use of mobile fitness applications increase, it fails to lead to a sustained use. It is necessary to find and understand what matters for mobile fitness application users. Therefore, this study analyze the reviews of mobile fitness application users, to draw key factors, and thereby to propose detailed strategies for promoting mobile fitness applications. We utilize text mining techniques - LDA topic modeling, term frequency analysis, and keyword extraction - to draw and analyze the issues related to mobile fitness applications. In particular, the key factors drawn by text mining techniques are explained through the concept of user experience. This study is academically meaningful in the point that the key factors of mobile fitness applications are drawn by the user experience based text mining techniques, and practically this study proposes detailed strategies for promoting mobile fitness applications in the health care area.

클라우드 컴퓨팅에서 u-Fitness 기반 운동 관리를 위한 소유자의 프라이버시를 보장하는 프로토콜 (A Owner's Privacy Preserving Protocol for u-Fitness-based Exercise Management in Cloud Computing)

  • u-fitness 기반 운동관리와 관련된 민감한 신체 정보의 양이 폭발적으로 증가하고 있기 때문에 클라우드 서비스의 활용에 대한 관심이 날로 증가하고 있다. 그러나 클라우드 서버는 자신의 서버에 저장된 정보에 불법적으로 접근할 수 있으며, 누가 그 정보의 소유자인지를 알아낼 수 있고, 스토리지에 저장된 정보 간의 연관성을 불법적으로 추론할 수 있다. 또한 클라우드 서버는 저장된 정보에 대해 수정, 삭제 같은 소유자의 정당한 연산 요청에 대해 불이행할 수 있으며, 자체의 오작동으로 인해 정보를 분실하거나 손상시킬 수 있다. 따라서 우리는 클라우드 서버를 전적으로 신뢰할 수 없기 때문에 클라우드 서버를 사용하기 위해서는 위와 같은 문제들을 해결해야 한다. 우리는 클라우드 컴퓨팅 환경에서 u-Fitness 기반 운동관리를 위한 소유자의 프라이버시를 보장하는 프로토콜을 제안한다. 그리고 제안한 구조가 실제 환경에서 적용 가능함을 보안 분석과 성능 분석을 통해 보인다.

IoT기반 피트니스 트래커의 사용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Factors Affecting the Intention of Using IoT-Based Fitness Tracker)

  • 본 연구는 플로우이론과 UTAUT모형에 의한 IoT기반 피트니스 트래커의 이용의도에 영향을 미치는 요인을 알아보고자 한다. IoT기반 피트니스 트래커의 독립변수들로 플로우 경험이론에서 사용된 도전감과 숙련도 요인을 활용하고 개인적 특성인 건강관심도와 유희성 그리고 사회적 영향, 촉진조건을 선정하였다. 또한 UTAUT이론을 활용하여 성과기대와 노력기대를 매개변수로 활용하였으며 종속변수로는 사용의도를 선정하였다. 이러한 연구가설을 검증하기 위하여 본 연구는 126개의 설문자료를 수집하고 Smart PLS를 활용하여 통계적 분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 통합기술수용모델 (UTAUT)의 주요변수와 더불어 본 연구에서 새롭게 도입한 플로우 경험과 개인적 특성요인이 IoT기반 피트니스 웨어러블 환경에서도 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

농어촌공사 임직원의 스마트 팜 인식에 미치는 요인 분석 (Analysis of Factors Affecting the Perception of Smart Farm by Employees of Korea Rural Community Corperation)

  • This study designed an extended technology acceptance model incorporating and combining TPB, TAM, UTAUT, and IDT, which are known to be useful in explaining technology acceptance intention, to analyze antecedents affecting smart farm acceptance intention from the perspective of policy handlers. In the model of this study, nine independent variables were set, including subjective norm, perceived behavioral control, attitude, perceived usefulness, performance expectation, effort expectation, social impact, promotion condition, and fitness. The effect of these variables on farm acceptance intention was analyzed. The study found that four factors, including perceived behavioral control, perceived usefulness, social impact, and fitness, had positive effects on the acceptance intention of smart farms. Of these, perceived usefulness had the highest impact. In conclusion, all the TPB, TAM, UTAUT, and IDT applied to the research hypothesis to explain the smart farm acceptance intention included on or more variables with significant effects. In other words, these theories were evaluated as useful to explain the acceptance intention of smart farms.

딥러닝 기반 포즈인식을 이용한 체력측정 시스템 (Fitness Measurement system using deep learning-based pose recognition)

  • 제안한 시스템은 AI 체력측정 파트와 AI 체력관리 파트 2가지 부분이 연계성을 가지고 구성되어 있다. AI 체력측정 파트에서 딥러닝 기반의 포즈인식을 통해 체력측정에 대한 가이드와 측정값의 정확한 연산을 수행한다. 이 측정값을 기반으로 AI 체력관리 파트에서는 개인 맞춤형 운동프로그램을 설계해 전용 스마트 어플리케이션에 제공한다. 측정자세 가이드를 위해 웹캠을 통해 측정대상자의 자세를 촬영해 골격선을 추출한다. 다음으로 학습된 준비자세의 골격선과 추출된 골격선을 비교해 정상 유무를 판단하고, 정상자세 유지를 위한 음성안내를 실시한다.

Wearable Device Users' Behavior Change: Does Persuasive Design Matter?

  • Purpose Wearable devices are widely used in our daily life. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between persuasive designs of fitness trackers and users' physical activity behavior. Methods To test the research model, data was collected from a web-based survey in China, resulting in an effective sample of 166 usable questionnaires. The survey was restricted only to respondents who wear a fitness tracker. Results The sample surveyed in this study indicated that half of the respondents had been wearing a smart fitness tracker shorter than one year, and only 27% were long-time users (longer than two years). Dialogue support and social support strategies were both proved to be effective in increasing users' workout behavior intention. Social support strategies had a greater effect on behavior change than dialogue support strategies. Conclusion The findings from this study make several contributions to the practice. Wearable devices developers can employ the result from this study to help them design devices, which can persuade people to do more exercises and preserve a healthier life.

Review of Changing Judging Standards for Bodybuilding and Fitness Competition Category

  • This study examined the importance of screening for changing bodybuilding and fitness category. The screening criteria for bodybuilding, the background and reason for the creation of new bodybuilding and fitness items, the screening criteria for new items, and the use of drugs were described. The current bodybuilding gives high marks to excessive muscles and excessive diet conditions, and new bodybuilding category have been newly established in line with the recent global trend of pursuing natural beauty over abnormally excessive muscles, and the screening criteria also prioritize the balance of ideal and overall muscles to fit your height and weight. In addition, fitness events such as physique and bikini are gaining popularity with the establishment because they focus on not excessive muscles and natural elements of the body that ordinary people can challenge. Since athletes as well as ordinary people are using drugs to increase muscles and suffer side effects, IFBB(International Federation of BodyBuilding) and KBBF(Korea Body Building Federation) should consider and improve the current bodybuilding screening standards that avoid excessive muscles, and it is believed that bodybuilding and fitness events will develop only when strict punishment and continuous anti-doping education are carried out.

  • 최근 딥러닝을 비롯한 인공지능 기술의 활용이 다양한 분야에서 활발해지고 있으며, 특히 딥러닝 기술 기반의 객체 인식 및 검출에 뛰어난 성능을 보이는 여러 알고리즘들이 발표되고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사용자의 편의성이 효과적으로 반영된 모바일 헬스케어 애플리케이션 구현에 대한 적절한 방향성을 제시하고자 한다. 기존의 피트니스 애플리케이션들에 대한 이용 만족도 연구 및 모바일 헬스케어 애플리케이션에 대한 현황을 파악하여, 이로부터 피트니스 애플리케이션 시장에서의 생존과 우위를 확보하는 동시에, 최근 주목 받고 있는 인공지능 기술의 효과적인 적용에 의한 성능 개선을 통해 기존 이용자 유지 및 확대를 도모하고자 한다.
