A Quantitative Team Situation Awareness Measurement Method Considering Technical and Nontechnical Skills of Teams

  • Human capabilities, such as technical/nontechnical skills, have begun to be recognized as crucial factors for nuclear safety. One of the most common ways to improve human capabilities in general is training. The nuclear industry has constantly developed and used training as a tool to increase plant efficiency and safety. An integrated training framework was suggested for one of those efforts, especially during simulation training sessions of nuclear power plant operation teams. The developed training evaluation methods are based on measuring the levels of situation awareness of teams in terms of the level of shared confidence and consensus as well as the accuracy of team situation awareness. Verification of the developed methods was conducted by analyzing the training data of real nuclear power plant operation teams. The teams that achieved higher level of shared confidence showed better performance in solving problem situations when coupled with high consensus index values. The accuracy of nuclear power plant operation teams' situation awareness was approximately the same or showed a similar trend as that of senior reactor operators' situation awareness calculated by a situation awareness accuracy index (SAAI). Teams that had higher SAAI values performed better and faster than those that had lower SAAI values.

Career Management and Employees Retention in Professional Service Organizations: An Empirical Study from Indonesia

  • The purpose of this study is to see how career management affects employee retention in professional service businesses (PSOs). The role of knowledge and skills as moderating variables in the relationship between career management and intention to stay is also investigated. A review of the literature on career management, which includes promotion, training, mentorship, starting salary, and the laxity-stringency of organizational entry-exit rules, leads to the hypothesis that career management positively affects employees' intentions to stay. Such a positive impact may differ between knowledgeable and skilled employees and their less knowledgeable and skilled counterparts. Cross-sectional data is obtained from 200 professionals working for various PSOs. Stepwise regression is employed to analyze the data. The research found that career management positively affects the intention to stay. The impact of promotion, training and mentorship on the intention to stay is moderated by knowledge and skills. Conversely, knowledge and skills do not moderate the effect of starting salary and the laxity-stringency of organizational entry-exit on intention to stay. The study's findings imply that by implementing effective career management, talented professionals can be retained. However, the level of knowledge and skills should be carefully considered. These findings offer significant insights into human capital management, particularly in PSOs.

간호대학생의 의사소통 능력 함양을 위한 동기면담 기반 의사소통 훈련의 효과 (An Evaluation of Motivational Interviewing Based Communication Training to Promote Communication Competency for Nursing Students)

  • 간호사의 의사소통은 신뢰관계와 간호의 질 보장을 위한 핵심 능력이다. 본 연구는 간호 대학생 3학년 35명을 대상으로 동기면담기반 의사소통훈련을 시행하였고 훈련 효과를 확인하였다. 4시간 단일 회기 훈련 후 핵심 기술인 반영하기와 반영의 깊이, 의사소통의 걸림돌과 닫힌질문 등에서 훈련의 성과를 확인하였다. 그러나 열린질문에 대해서는 유의미한 효과를 확인하지 못하여 향후 이와 관련한 변수에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 면담에 대한 자신감은 훈련 후 전반적으로 좋은 성과를 얻었는데 반영하기에 대한 자신감은 유의미하지 않아 반영하기에 대한 학생들의 자신감 고양을 위한 전략 마련이 필요하다. 훈련 방법 중에는 개별, 집단 피드백이 가장 큰 도움을 준 것으로 나타나 훈련가들의 피드백 역량에 대한 재고가 필요하다.

거주시설 발달장애인을 위한 작업 기반 마트장보기 훈련 프로그램의 개발 및 효과 (Development and Effectiveness of Occupation Based Grocery Shopping Skill Training Program For The Person with Developmental Disability)

  • 목적 : 발달장애인의 마트장보기 과제의 독립적 수행을 위해 작업 기반 마트장보기 훈련 프로그램을 개발하여 시행하고 효과를 바탕으로 프로그램의 최종 프로토콜을 제안하고 그 효과를 입증하고자 한다. 연구방법 : 작업 기반 마트장보기 훈련 그룹프로그램을 개발한 프로그램에 대해 전문가 내용타당도 평가를 실시한 후 프로토콜을 작성하였다. 이후 발달 장애인 3명에게 소규모 그룹프로그램의 프로토콜을 총 6회기에 걸쳐 적용하였다. 프로그램의 효과는 훈련 전 후 및 5개월 후 3차례에 걸쳐 The Test of Grocery Shopping Skills (TOGSS)를 통해 평가하였다. 연구결과 : 본 연구에서 개발된 작업 기반 마트장보기 훈련 그룹프로그램을 적용한 결과 3명의 대상자 모두 구매하고자 하는 물건의 항목비교 및 크기비교 수행기술에서 향상을 보였으며, 마트에서 장보는 시간이 훈련 전에 비해 감소되는 효과를 보였다. 또한 3명 중 2명의 대상자는 마트 내에서 물건위치 찾기 수행도가 향상되었다. 반면 가격비교는 3명 모두 수행도의 향상을 보이지 않았다. 5개월 후 추적평가 시 대상자 2명은 마트장보기 수행기술이 유지되거나 향상된 모습을 보였고, 1명은 훈련효과가 퇴행하여 독립적으로 마트장보기가 불가능하였다. 결론 : 본 연구에서 개발한 작업 기반 마트장보기 훈련 그룹프로그램은 발달장애인들의 마트장보기 수행 기술 향상에 도움이 된다. 이와 같이 마트장보기 훈련 프로그램은 지적장애인 거주시설에서 활용할 수 있을 것이고, 전문가 내용 타당도 평가를 거쳐 구체적인 프로토콜로 프로그램을 개발하였다는 것이 지역사회 작업치료서비스 분야에 필요한 임상적 의의를 지닌다.

직업훈련교·강사 보수교육에 관한 인식 및 요구 조사 연구 (Survey on Perceptions and Demands of Vocational Training Teachers and Instructors)

  • 본 연구는 직업훈련기관장과 직업훈련교·강사를 대상으로 보수교육에 관한 요구를 조사하고, 이를 바탕으로 보수교육의 운영방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 직업훈련기관장 130명과 직업훈련교·강사 535명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사 결과 두 그룹 모두 보수교육의 필요성에 대해 대부분의 응답자들이 공감하였으며, 신기술 습득 및 교사로서의 역랑 향상에 대한 교육니즈가 높았다. 또한 보수교육 참여를 위한 장려방안 및 보수교육 참여 장애요소에 대해서도 조사결과를 분석하였다. 이를 바탕으로 보수교육 운영 방향성에 대한 시사점을 제시하였다.

외식업체 조리 기술지원 및 경영 컨설팅을 통한 경영성과 향상에 관한 연구: 경기지역 레스토랑을 중심으로 (A Study on the Management Performance Improvement through Cooking Skills Support and Management Consulting for Restaurants: Focused on Restaurants in Gyeonggi Province)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the current status of 30 restaurants targeted for customized-visit consulting. For this process, experts visited restaurants and conducted consulting to improve the effectiveness of management for restaurants. A frequency analysis was used for general details, and a questionnaire survey was conducted to consult employees and customer groups. The analysis and consulting results were as follows: Firstly,menu need to be improved through restaurants' sanitary state and menu quality improvement. New menu should be developed through continuous training for restaurant operators, the relevant organizations, and cooking skill experts. Secondly, restaurants' cooking skill and knowledge should be secured by training of restaurant operators from the relevant organizations and experts to acquire cooking skills. In conclusion, restaurants' capability needs to be consolidated through persistent and cyclical process to maintain competitive menus and cooking skills. The results also showed that employee group's MOT, foods, menu, and facility education/training should be fortified. In order to reinvigorate the restaurant industry, marketers need to offer continuous education/training and consulting for employees to improve their satisfaction.

간호·간병통합서비스 병동 신규간호사 대상 핵심기본간호술기향상 교육프로그램 개발 및 적용 (The Development and Application of Core Fundamental Nursing Skills Improvement Education Program for New Nurses in Comprehensive Nursing Care Ward)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the development and application of the new nurses' core skill program on the clinical skill, confidence, knowledge and performance of new nurses. Methods: This study was a nonequivalent control group post-test design on 46 new nurses with 3 to 6 months work experience in a general hospital. Data were collected from August 2015 to August 2016. A training program of core fundamental nursing skills was applied on 23 new nurses from 2016 in the experiment group, and an existing training method was applied on 23 new nurses from 2015 in the comparison group. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS/WIN 23.0. Results: The experimental group ($89{\pm}4.29$) showed higher score in practical skill assessment compared to the control group ($85.09{\pm}3.99$) and showed a statistically significant difference (p<001). Conclusion: A training program of core fundamental nursing skills for new nurses proved effective in improving practical skills. Further research on the development of a systemic training program that can improve clinical nursing knowledge and work ability for new nurses according to the extended enforcement of a Nursing Care Integrated Service ward is needed.

Current status of simulation training in plastic surgery residency programs: A review

  • Increased emphasis on competency-based learning modules and widespread departure from traditional models of Halstedian apprenticeship have made surgical simulation an increasingly appealing component of medical education. Surgical simulators are available in numerous modalities, including virtual, synthetic, animal, and non-living models. The ideal surgical simulator would facilitate the acquisition and refinement of surgical skills prior to clinical application, by mimicking the size, color, texture, recoil, and environment of the operating room. Simulation training has proven helpful for advancing specific surgical skills and techniques, aiding in early and late resident learning curves. In this review, the current applications and potential benefits of incorporating simulation-based surgical training into residency curriculum are explored in depth, specifically in the context of plastic surgery. Despite the prevalence of simulation-based training models, there is a paucity of research on integration into resident programs. Current curriculums emphasize the ability to identify anatomical landmarks and procedural steps through virtual simulation. Although transfer of these skills to the operating room is promising, careful attention must be paid to mastery versus memorization. In the authors' opinions, curriculums should involve step-wise employment of diverse models in different stages of training to assess milestones. To date, the simulation of tactile experience that is reminiscent of real-time clinical scenarios remains challenging, and a sophisticated model has yet to be established.

Development and Analysis of the Effects of Caregiver Training Program on Aggressive Behavior m Elders with Cognitive Impairment

  • Purpose. The purposes of this study were to 1) describe the type and frequency of aggressive behavior of cognitively impaired nursing home resident, 2) develop a caregiver training program on prevention and management of aggressive behavior, 3) examine the effects of caregiver training program on the incidence of aggressive behavior of cognitively impaired nursing home resident, and 4) examine the effects of caregiver training program on nursing staff's aggressive behavior management skills. Methods. One-group, time series, quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and two post- tests was used. Data were collected from cognitively impaired home residents (N = 32) and nursing staff (N = 36) in a proprietary nursing home using Ryden Aggression Scale I, II, and Aggressive Behavior Management Scale. Data were entered and analyzed by descriptive statistics and repeated measures ANOVA. Results. Incidence of aggressive behavior was high with a mean score of 3.09 (SD = 3.11) at baseline. Caregiver training program was developed based on Progressively Lowered Stress Threshold (PLST) model and gerontological and psychiatric literature. The mean scores of aggressive behavior at baseline, Post I, and II did not differ significantly although the difference approached to the significant level (F = 2.925, p = .066). Nursing staff's aggressive behavior management skills increased at Post I, and at Post II when compared to baseline, and the difference was significant (F=12.736, p=<.00l). Conclusion. Caregiver training program showed potential impact on reduction of aggressive behavior in elders with cognitive impairment and was effective in increasing nursing staff's aggressive behavior management skills.

주의력결핍/과다활동장애(ADHD) 아동에서 사회기술훈련 (THE SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING IN CHILDREN WITH ATTENTION-DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER(ADHD))

  • 목 적:주의력결핍/과다활동장애(ADHD) 아동들은 또래관계를 영위하는데 필요한 것을 포함한 다양한 사회기술에 결함을 보인다. 이들의 치료에 약물치료를 포함한 부모훈련, 교육적 접근 등이 필요하지만 이와 함께 이들에 대한 사회기술훈련이 시도되고 있다. 이들에게서 사회기술훈련을 적용하여 그 효과를 검증해보고자 한다. 방 법:ADHD로 진단 받은 초등학교 아동 5명과 그들의 부모 5명을 대상으로 Pfiffner와 McBurnett이 제안한 프로그램을 중심으로 총 8회기의 프로그램을 수행하고, 사회기술, 문제행동, 또래의 사회적 수용도, 양육태도 및 양육스트레스, 프로그램 만족도를 비교해 보았다. 결 과:교사와 부모가 평가한 내용이 다소 달랐는데, 교사는 사회기술과 또래의 사회적 수용도에서, 부모는 문제행동의 감소에서 유의미한 호전을 보고하였다. 부모들은 양육태도에서는 별 변화가 없었지만 양육스트레스에서는 현저한 감소를 보고하였으며, 프로그램 만족도는 상당히 높았다. 결 론:ADHD 아동에서 사회기술훈련은 최근에, 주로 보조적이거나 매우 제한적으로 시행되고 있다. 하지만 상당히 많은 아동들이 사회기술의 결함을 호소하고 있기 때문에 이들이 통합적 접근에서 이들의 치료 프로그램에 포함되어 시행하는 것이 바람직하겠다.
