  • Single winding self driven synchronous rectification(SWSDSR) scheme is based on an additional winding in the power transformer (auxiliary winding). It allows for maintaining the synchronous rectifiers on even when the voltage in the transformer is zero, which is impossible to do in traditional self-driven approaches.   • This paper discusses single-phase AC-DC converter that driven by binary combination at different transformer winding ratio. It has a advantage that constructs a control system simply and obtain load current of good quality without filter circuit and free from noise or isolation for lower switching frequency. Also, this has merit that can do high power capacity. In this research, study on feedback circuit that consist for load stability of AC-DC multi-level converter.

  • This thesis is aimed to obtain efficiently economically any desired phases and single phase transformer without unbalance by using only a new transformer, applying the theory of rotating magnetic field. The brief construction and principle is as floow: two pieces of similar ring cores, triangular cores or polygonal cores are located on the upper and lower sides with equidistance. And the some number of similar leg cores, shaped a square-pillar or a sylinder, are arranged at equidistant of the core section. Ring windings or polyphase windings of AC machines are adopted as a winding method on the upper and lower cores. Three phase AC is applied to the primary windings on these cores so that the rotating magnetic field is induced on the cores and this magnetic fluxes pass through each of the secondary windings on the leg-cores with some difference in time.

  • In this paper, the limiting characteristics of the fault current in a power system with a superconducting fault current limiter(SFCL) applied into neutral line of main transformer in a distribution power line were analyzed. The SFCL applied into the neutral line of main transformer power system can limit the unsymmetrical fault current from the single-line ground fault or the double-line ground fault. In addition, it could be decreased a number of SFCL and a load. This method could be expected to reduction of a power loss in the neutral line, because of a neutral line current is zero in ordinary times.

  • This paper described the development example of optical CT(Current Transformer) and optical PT (Potential Transformer) which is measurement system of current and voltage of electric power line using Electro-Optic effect and Magneto-Optic effect. We designed the optical CT of 22KV class and 154KV class and an optical PT of 22KV class. And now the filed testing is in progress in a KEPCO's substation.

  • In the high-speed EMU, the modularized traction converter produces the significant harmonic currents caused from the switching behavior of a power converter. These harmonic currents bring the interference among the traction equipment. One way to minimize the interference is to design the secondary windings of a power transformer decoupled magnetically as possible. This paper presents a magnetic field analysis on a winding disposition to clarify an impact on magnetic decoupling between secondary windings, under a limited height of a train. Two winding dispositions for a single-phase shell-type transformer are constructed and simulated by a three-dimensional finite elements method (FEM) model. Two different winding dispositions are constructed and simulated by three-dimensional FEM model using Maxwell3D.

  • A 1 MV A single phase high temperature superconducting (HTS) transformer was manufactured. In order to reduce AC loss generated in the HTS winding, winding was concentrically arranged. Operation temperature is set at 65K to increase the critical current and reduce the amount of HTS tape usage and the volume. The cryogenic system which consists of main cryostat with the windings and secondary cryostat with 2 GM coolers and cryopump on top and heat exchanger inside is also designed and the cooling performance is simulated with Fluent. Temperature distribution of the windings is investigated whether the windings are kept under designed operation temperature.

  • According to the increase of electric consumption nowadays, power system becomes complicated. Due to this, the size of single line-to-ground fault from power system also increases to have many problems. In order to resolve these problems effectively, an Superconducting Fault Current Limiter(SFCL) was proposed and continuous study has been done. In this paper, an SFCL was combined to the neutral line of a transformer. An superconductivity has the characteristics of zero resistance below critical temperature. because of this, SFCL has nearly zero resistance. so we connecting SFCL to neutral line will not only have any loss in the normal operation but also have the less burden of electric power because of only limiting the initial fault current. We analyzed the characteristics of current, voltage according to the changes of turn ratio of 3 phase system in case of combinations of an SFCL to the neutral line. It was confirmed that the limiting rate of initial fault current by the increase of turn ratio was reduced.

  • In order to evaluate the nominal rating of breakers in distribution system due to the increased capacity and operating conditions of power transformers in 154 kV substation, the fault currents in distribution system were calculated by the conventional method and simulations of PSCAD/EMTDC program. Consequently, under the condition of the parallel operation of transformers, the fault currents exceed the nominal current of the breakers in some areas. Without NGR at the secondary neutral of the transformer, the current of single line-to-ground fault was bigger than that of 3-phase fault. Therefore, the results clearly show that the measures to limit the fault currents in distribution system are needed when the increased capacity of power transformers is introduced into 154 kV substation.

  • In this paper, a optical current transformer has been designed and favricated to improve temperature stability caused materials properties and insulation in measuring system, suing single crystal as faraday effect cells. We used 850[nm] Laser diode as the light source and PIN Photodiode as receiver. For the experiment, the temperature transformation device make by aluminum. The range of current was from 0[A]$\sim$1600[A] and the range of temperature was from -20[$^{\circ}C$] to 50[$^{\circ}C$]. In a same experimental condition magnitude increased input current increase follow by increasing proportion of input current. The result of this study shows that characteristics of OCT are good, and it can be reflected for practical optical sensors.
