  • The single phase switched reluctance motor has many merits in practical use because it has simple operating drives and control systems, very high energy density per unit volume comparing with three phase SRM. But it has also problems which is a starting device and torque ripple. One of the major problems is torque ripple which causes increased undesirable acoustic noise and possibly speed ripple. This paper describes an approach to determine optimum magnetic circuit parameters to minimize the torque ripple.

  • This paper examines the electrical characteristic of single oxide layer due to various diffusion conditions, substrate orientations, substrate resistivity and gas atmosphere in a diffusion furnace. The oxide quality was examined through the capacitance-voltage characteristic due to the annealing time after oxidation process, and the capacitance-voltage characteristics of the single oxide layer by will be described via semiconductor device simulation.

  • A series of fully conjugated polymers containing new arylenevinylene units were synthesized and their light-emitting properties were investigated. A bisphosphonate containing tetraphenyl group was made to react with three different dialdehyde monomers to produce fully conjugated alternating copolymers. The photoluminescence (PL) and the electroluminescence (EL) peak wavelengths of the polymers were varied from 500 nm to 460 nm depending on the polymer structure. Single layer EL devices using the polymers as an emissive layer have been fabricated. The single layer EL devices became visible between 12-22 V and emitted blue light.

  • AC to DC single phase PWM converter for traction application requires rated high power and voltage. Therefor, series or parallel operation converters are necessary with considering the limitation of the power device specification. This paper compares the characteristic between two parallel operation of conventional PWM converter and Single phase three level converter about comparison of power circuit, cooling system control method and harmonic current by computer simulation.

  • This paper analyzed the adoption possibility of a low cost single phase active power filter as the neutral current reduction device in three-phase four-wire power system with the balanced or/and unbalnaced nonlinear load conditions. Proposed system can make neutral line current to within rated vale without the phase current THD change of the installed phase line.

  • In this work we describe a new type of SAW FM discriminator which is structurely single layer planar type and uses the elastic nonlineatity compared with acoustoelectric SAW FM discriminator. This device shows successful FM discrimination of among as well as digital signals.

  • WLAN is the best choice in the place where complex network is hard to set up. Intelligent terminals are more and more assembled in some areas now. However, according to IEEE 802.11n/802.11ac, the access-point (AP) can only serve one user at a single frequency channel. The spectrum efficiency urgently needs to be improved. In theory, AP with multi-antenna can serve multiple users if these users do not interfere with each other. In this paper, we propose a user clustering scheme that could achieve multi-user selection through the mutual cooperation among users. We focus on two points, one is to achieve multi-user communication with multiple antennas technique at a single frequency channel, and the other one is to use a way of distributed users' collaboration to determine the multi-user selection for user clustering. Firstly, we use the CSMA/CA protocol to select the first user, and then we set this user as a source node using users' cooperation to search other proper users. With the help of the users' broadcast cooperation, we can search and select other appropriate user (while the number of access users is limited by the number of antennas in AP) to access AP with the first user simultaneously. In the network node searching, we propose a maximum degree energy routing searching algorithm, which uses the shortest time and traverses as many users as possible. We carried out the necessary analysis and simulation to prove the feasibility of the scheme. We hope this work may provide a new idea for the solution of the multiple access problem.

Enhancing Production Rate of Emulsion via Parallelization of Flow-Focusing Generators (유동-집속 생성기의 병렬화를 통한 에멀젼 생산속도 향상)

  • Droplet-based microfluidic device has led to transformational new approaches in various applications including materials synthesis and high-throughput screening. However, efforts are required to enhance the production rate to industrial scale because of low production rate in a single droplet generator. In here, we present a method for enhancing production rate of monodisperse droplets via parallelization of flow-focusing generators. For this, we fabricated a three-dimensional monolithic elastomer device (3D MED) that has the 3D channel structures in a single layer, using a double-sided imprinting method. We demonstrated that the production rate of monodisperse droplet is increased by controlling the flow rate of continuous and dispersed phases in 3D MED with 8 droplet generators. Thus, we anticipate that this microfluidic system will be used in wide area including microparticle synthesis and screening system via encapsulation of various materials and cells in monodisperse droplets.

  • Mobile virtualization is an approach to mobile device management in which two virtual platforms are installed on a single wireless device. A smartphone, a single wireless device, might have one virtual environment for business use and one for personal use. Mobile virtualization might also allow one device to run two different operating systems, allowing the same phone to run both RTOS and Android apps. In this paper, we propose the techniques to virtualize the cores of a multicore, allowing the reassign any number of vCPUs that are exposed to a OS to any subset of the pCPUs. And then we also propose the real-time scheduling method to assigning the vCPUs to the pCPU. Suggested technology in this paper solves problem that increases time of real-time process when interrupt are handled, and is able more to fast processing than previous algorithm.

The Fabrication and Characteristic Analysis of Single-Layer White Organic Light Emitting Devices (단일층 백색유기발광소자의 제작 및 특성분석)

  • In this paper, single-layer white organic light emitting device was fabricated on ITO glass substrate using PVK as host, Bu-PBD as electron transport layer, Nile Red, Coumarin 6, TPB as red, green, blue color fluorescent dyes. The red, green, blue organic light emitting devices were fabricated respectively. After the characteristic analysis of each color device, the white organic light emitting device was fabricated with optimized condition of each color device by spin coating method. we obtained white emission CIE coordination of (0.32, 0.34) and luminescence of 785cd/$m^2$ at driving voltage of 20V with condition of PVK(70wt%), Bu-PBD(30wt%), Nile Red(0.015mol%), Coumarin 6(0.04mol%), TPB(3mol%).
