  • In this paper we give a necessary condition for a homeomorphism restricted to its nonwandering set to have the shadowing property. Also, we consider a homeomorphism which cannot have the shadowing property.

  • The Korean 2nd basic plan for management of high-level radioactive waste presented a plan to manage spent nuclear fuel through dry storage facilities in NPP on-site. For the construction and operation of the facility, it is necessary to develop the monitoring system of the integrity of spent nuclear fuel before operation. NUREG-1536 recommends that the theoretical cask array, typically in the 2×10 array, should account for shadowing effect among the dry storage casks. The objective of this study was to evaluate neutron flux accounting for shadowing effect among dry storage casks. The neutron release rate was evaluated using ORIGEN based on the design basis fuel condition. And the simulation of dry storage casks and evaluation of the shadowing effect were performed using MCNP. Shadowing effect of other dry storage casks was the highest at the center of the dry storage facility of the 2×10 array compared with the outside of the cask. The shadowing effect of neutron flux on the surface among the metal casks was approximately 18% at point 1, 23% at point 2, and 43% at point 3. For the concrete casks, the shadowing effect of neutron flux on the surface was approximately 46% at point 1, 51% at point 2, and 52% at point 3. This means that correction is necessary to monitor the integrity of spent nuclear fuel in each dry storage cask through evaluation of shadowing effect. The results of this study will be used for comparative analysis of neutron measurement data from spent nuclear fuels in dry storage cask. Additionally, the neutron flux evaluation procedure used in this study could be used as the basic data of safety assessment of dry storage cask and development of safety guide.

  • The cochannel interference probability has been estimated both in the environment of Nakagami fading and Gasussian noise and in the environments of Gaussian noise and Nakagami fading plus log-normal shadowing. In noise and Nakagami fading environments, a theoretical analysis has been performed in order to calculate the cochannel interference probability in addition to computer simulation. In the environments of noise and Nakagami fading plus shadowing, only a simulation technique is used due to complexity in analysis. The spectrum efficiency is discussed on each case.

  • The article is devoted to exhibit some general properties of strong chain recurrent set and strong chain transitive components for a continuous map f on a compact metric space X. We investigate the relation between the weak shadowing property and strong chain transitivity. It is shown that a continuous map f from a compact metric space X onto itself with the average shadowing property is strong chain transitive.

  • Let f be a $C^2$-diffeomorphism on a closed surface which satisfies the Axiom A. Then f is in the $C^2$-interior of the set of all diffeomorphisms having the inverse shadowing property with respect to the class of the continuous methods if and only if f satisfies the strong transversality condition.

  • Let M be a generalized homogeneous compact space, and let Z(M) denotes the space of homeomorphisms of M with the $C^0$ topology. In this paper, we show that if the interior of the set of weak stable homeomorphisms on M is not empty then for any open subset W of Z(M) containing only weak stable homeomorphisms the orbital shadowing property is generic in W.

  • We consider ${\omega}$-chaos as defined by S. H. Li in 1993. We show that c-dense ${\omega}$-scrambled sets are present in every transitive system with two-sided limit shadowing property (TSLmSP) and that every transitive map on topological graph has a dense Mycielski ${\omega}$-scrambled set. As a preliminary step, we provide a characterization of dynamical properties of maps with TSLmSP.

  • Let f be a diffeomorphisms of a compact $C^{\infty}$ manifold, and let p be a hyperbolic periodic point of f. In this paper, we prove that if generically, f is tame diffeomorphims then the following conditions are equivalent: (i) f is ${\Omega}$-stable, (ii) f has the $C^1$-stable shadowing property (iii) f has the $C^1$-stable inverse shadowing property.
