  • This paper presents a magnetization modeling method combined with material sensitivity information to identify the unknown magnetization distribution of a hull and improve the accuracy of the predicted fields. First, based on the magnetization modeling, the hull surface was divided into three-dimensional sheet elements, where the individual remanent magnetization was assumed to be constant. For a fast search of the optimum magnetization distribution on the hull, a material sensitivity formula containing the first-order gradient information of an objective function was combined with the magnetization modeling method. The feature of the proposed method is that it can provide a stable and accurate field solution, even in the vicinity of the hull. Finally, the validity of the method was tested using a scale model ship.

A survey was conducted from August 10 to September 20 in 2012 and 364 responses were used in the data analysis. The statistical analysis methods were frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The characteristics of internet fashion consumers were composed of innovation tendency, impulse buying tendency, information orientation, and variety seeking tendency. Shopping motivation was composed of convenient motivation, social motivation, hedonic motivation, product motivation, and economic motivation. The information orientation and variety seeking tendency of internet fashion consumers influenced the price search. The innovation tendency, impulse buying tendency, and variety seeking tendency of internet fashion consumers influenced the price importance. Convenient motivation, hedonic motivation, and product motivation positively affected the price search; however, social motivation negatively affected the price search. The social motivation, hedonic motivation, and economic motivation of internet fashion consumers positively affected price importance. Price search and price importance influenced the purchasing delay; in addition, price search influenced the switching intention. The results of this study provide useful information for customer management and internet shopping mall marketing strategies.

  • In this study, we present an algorithm that analyzes the risk by reflecting regional characteristics for factors affected by direct and indirect damage from heavy-snow. Factors affected by heavy-snow damage by 29 regions are selected as influencing variables, and the concept of sensitivity is derived through the relationship with the amount of damage. A snow damage risk prediction model was developed using a machine learning (XGBoost) algorithm by setting weather conditions (snow cover, humidity, temperature) and sensitivity as independent variables, and setting the risk derived according to changes in the independent variables as dependent variables.

  • The updating of the FE model to match it with the experimental results needs the modal information. There are two causes where this methodology is ill-equip to deal with; under-determined and ill-conditioning problem. In this research, the feedback exciter which uses the summation of the white noise and the signals from the measurement sensors multiplied with feedback gains is proposed. The new energy path generated by the feedback exciter changes the modal characteristics of the system and this additional modal information can solve the under-determined problem in the model updating. Through the proper selection of the exciter and sensor locations and the feedback gain, the eigenvalue sensitivity of the updating parameters which cause the ill-conditioning of the sensitivity matrix can be modified. This methodology does not require any additional equipments, makes the acquirement of the additional modal information easy and is robust to the measurement noise.

  • The Eigen analysis in large power system provides much useful information that is not got in nose curve. The branch participation factor is not quantitative information and is an indirect method calculating incremental change in branch reactive loss. But the Eigen sensitivity analysis to each mode is direct and provides of quantitative information but this method because of needing much time is used in large power system. In this paper the Hessenberg method is used to obtaining dominant eignvalues and corresponding eigenvectors of Jacobian matrix. Ranking the critical contingencies is done by computing the Eigen sensitivity of each dominant eignvalues for changes of each line. The proposed algorithm is tested on the New England 30-bus system and KEPCO system in the year of 2000, which comprises of 791-bus and 2500-branches.

  • To achieve a high performance in direct vector control of induction motor, it is essential to correct estimation of rotor flux. The accuracy of flux observers for induction machines inherently depends on parameter sensitivity. This paper presents an analysis method for conventional flux observers using Parameter Sensitivity. The Parameter sensitivity is defined as the ratio of the percentage change in the system transfer function to the percentage change of the parameter variation. We define the ratio between real flux and estimated flux as the transfer function, and analyzed a parameter sensitivity of this transfer function by simulation.

  • Stereo-based spatial radiation detection devices can obtain not only spatial distribution information about the radiation source but also distance information from the detection device to the source. And it provides more efficient information on the source than the existing radiation imaging device. In order to provide high-speed information on the spectrum and type of gamma-ray source, a high-sensitivity detection sensor with high sensitivity is required, and a technique capable of solving the saturation phenomenon at a high dose is needed. In this paper, we constructed a high sensitivity sensor for the measurement of multiple gamma - ray spatial distributions using improved function of detection module to solve saturation to high dose and conducted research to increase the scope of a single detector. The result of this paper improves the performance of gamma ray.

  • A new reliability calculation method is proposed based on design sensitivity analysis by the finite element method for nonlinear performance constraints in the optimal design of electromagnetic devices. In the proposed method, the reliability of a given design is calculated by using the Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) method after approximating a constraint function to a linear one in the confidence interval with the help of its sensitivity information. The validity and numerical efficiency of the proposed sensitivity-assisted MCS method are investigated by comparing its numerical results with those obtained by using the conventional MCS method and the first-order reliability method for analytic functions and the TEAM Workshop Problem 22.

  • The study presents the results of the analysis on the structural characteristics of MOS capacitor for sensing the ionizing radiation effect. Increasing the thickness of MOS capacitor's oxide layer enhanced the sensitivity of MOS capacitor under irradiation condition, but the sensitivity of irradiated MOS capacitor is uninfluenced by the area of MOS capacitor.

  • Authors previously suggested the design sensitivity analysis based on transmissibility function and identified the sensitivity of measured point over the small modification of system dynamics. On the other hand, the acceleration data will not reveal the strain information at the same location and authors suggested energy isoclines that successfully predict the fatigue damage on the interesting location to overcome the drawback of acceleration over fatigue society. Both of methodologies, sensitivity analysis and fatigue damage prediction, commonly use the response acceleration response as main indicator. In this paper, authors investigate the advanced method of vibration fatigue prediction using design sensitivity analysis to enhance the accuracy of predicted accumulated fatigue. Uni-axial vibration testing is performed with finite element model of a simple notched specimen and the prediction of fatigue damage at notched location is conducted for accelerations at different measurement locations that show different sensitivity contribution, either.
