An Interleaved Five-level Boost Converter with Voltage-Balance Control

  • This paper proposes an interleaved five-level boost converter based on a switched-capacitor network. The operating principle of the converter under the CCM mode is analyzed. A high voltage gain, low component stress, small input current ripple, and self-balancing function for the capacitor voltages in the switched-capacitor networks are achieved. In addition, a three-loop control strategy including an outer voltage loop, an inner current loop and a voltage-balance loop has been researched to achieve good performances and voltage-balance effect. An experimental study has been done to verify the correctness and feasibility of the proposed converter and control strategy.

자체 pH 조정 기능을 갖는 다단 전해조에 의한 암모니아의 연속식 분해 (Continuous Decomposition of Ammonia by a Multi Cell-Stacked Electrolyzer with a Self-pH Adjustment Function)

  • 본 논문에서는 암모니아의 전해 분해를 위한 분리막 반응기의 음극방 및 양극방에서 물의 전해에 따른 암모니아 용액의 pH 변화가 고찰되었으며, 단위 전해 셀이 적층된 다단 전해 반응기에서의 암모니아의 연속식 분해 특성이 평가되었다. 분리막을 가지는 반응기에서 암모니아 용액의 전해 반응 시, 양극에서는 pH가 8 이하에서부터 수소 이온이 생성되는 물 분해 반응이 일어나며, 음극에서는 pH가 11 이상에서부터 수산기 이온이 생성되는 물 분해 반응이 일어나 암모니아 용액의 pH를 변화시켜 암모니아 전해 분해에 영향을 크게 미쳤으며, 음이온 교환막을 사용하는 경우가 양이온 교환막을 사용하는 경우보다 양극방에서 암모니아 분해에 유리한 알카리 분위기를 보다 효과적으로 유지할 수 있었다. 분리막 전해 반응기의 특성을 이용하여 자체 pH 조정 기능을 가지는 연속식 암모니아 전해 반응기가 새롭게 고안하였고, 여기서는 pH-조정조 탱크 용액을 두고 이의 용액 일부를 음극방으로 순환시킴으로써, 양극방으로 주입되는 pH-조정조의 용액의 pH를 높여 암모니아 분해율을 높일 수 있었다. 또한, 그러한 반응기를 이용한 salt-free 연속식 암모니아 전해 분해 공정이 제시되었으며, 이러한 공정에서는 염소 이온을 가지는 암모니아 용액의 80%까지 연속적으로 암모니아를 환경에 무해한 질소로 분해 시킬 수 있었다.

노인군 보행 속도 증가에 따른 하지 강성 증가 (Vertical Limb Stiffness Increased with Gait Speed in the Elderly)

  • Spring-mass models have been widely accepted to explain the basic dynamics of human gait. Researchers found that the leg stiffness increased with gait speed to increase energy efficiency. However, the difference of leg stiffness change with gait speed between the young and the elderly has not been verified yet. In this study, we calculated the lower limb stiffness of the elderly using walking model with an axial spring. Vertical stiffness was defined as the ratio of the vertical force change to the vertical displacement change. Seven young and eight elderly subjects participated to the test. The subjects walked on a 12 meter long, 1 meter wide walkway at four different gait speeds, ranging from their self-selected speed to maximum speed randomly. Kinetic and kinematic data were collected using three force plates and motion capture cameras, respectively. The vertical stiffness of the two groups increased as a function of walking speed. Maximum walking speed of the elderly was slower than that of the young, yet the walking speed correlated well with the optimal stiffness that maximizes propulsion energy in both groups. The results may imply that human may use apparent limb stiffness to optimize energy based on spring-like leg mechanics.

물분해용 Fe2O3/Na2Ti6O13/FTO 박막 제조 및 특성평가 (Fabrication and (Photo)Electrochemical Properties of Fe2O3/Na2Ti6O13/FTO Films for Water Splitting Process)

  • One dimensional(1D) $Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ nanorods with 70 nm in diameter was synthesized by a molten salt method. Using the synthesized nanorods, about 750 nm thick $Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ film was coated on Fluorine-doped tin oxide(FTO) glasss substrate by the Layer-by-layer self-assembly(LBL-SA) method in which a repetitive self-assembling of ions containing an opposite electric charge in an aqueous solution was utilized. Using the Kubelka-Munk function, the band gap energy of the 1D-$Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ nanorods was nalyzed to be 3.5 eV. On the other hand, the band gap energy of the $Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ film coated on FTO was found to be a reduced value of 2.9 eV, resulting from the nano-scale and high porosity of the film processed by LBL-SA method, which was favorable for the photo absorption capability. A significant improvement of photocurrent and onset voltage was observed with the $Na_2Ti_6O_{13}$ film incorporated into the conventional $Fe_2O_3$ photoelectrode: the photocurrent increased from 0.25 to 0.82 mA/$cm^2$, the onset voltage decreased from 0.95 to 0.78 V.

  • 본 연구에서는 소자의 크기에 따른 코발트-저마늄 박막 기반의 galvanic cell의 특성을 조사하고, 이를 물 접촉 감지에 활용하기 위한 아두이노 기반 사물인터넷 센서 네트워크에의 적용을 제시한다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 코발트 저마늄 박막 기반 galvanic cell은 기존의 압전, 열전 에너지 하베스팅 소자와 다르게, 소자의 손상을 줄 수 있는 기계적인 변형이나 온도 구배를 필요로 하지 않는다는 점에서, 자가발전 센서 네트워크를 구축하는데 있어 더욱 적합한 에너지 하베스팅 소자로 적합하다. 본 연구는 스퍼터링 방식으로 증착된 코발트-저마늄 박막 기반의 galvanic cell을 센서로 활용함으로써 향후 자가발전 센서 네트워크의 실현 가능성에 대해 논의함으로써 향후 연구, 개발될 발전된 형태의 센서 네트워크 구축에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

Effects of Multifactorial and Follow-up Programs Applying a Capacity Building Strategy: Focusing on Older Adults Living in a Urban-rural Complex Area

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine effects of a multifactorial program for preventing the frailty of older adults and effects of a follow-up program applying a capacity building strategy. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design was used for the nonequivalent control group. The follow-up group (n=75) and non-follow-up group (n=68) received the same multifactorial program comprising muscle strength exercise, cognitive training, and psychosocial programs for 12 weeks. After completion of multifactorial program, the follow-up group took follow-up programs applying the capacity building strategy for following 12 weeks. The data of physical function, cognitive function, and psychological function, and self-rated health were collected from both groups three times: before intervention, after intervention, and 12 weeks after intervention. The data were analyzed using $x^2$ test and t-test. Results: In comparison with the non-follow-up group, the scores of Timed Up & Go Test, and physical activities energy expenditure were significantly improved in the follow-up group. Conclusion: These results indicate that a multifactorial program with follow-up adapting the strategies of capacity building for the older adults group is feasible to prevent the physical frailty in community.

The development of high fidelity Steam Generator three dimensional thermal hydraulic coupling code: STAF-CT

  • The thermal hydraulic performances of Steam Generator (SG) under both steady and transient operation conditions are of great importance for the safety and economy in nuclear power plants. In this paper, based on our self-developed SG thermal hydraulic analysis code STAF (Steam-generator Thermalhydraulic Analysis code based on Fluent), an improved new version STAF-CT (fully Coupling and Transient) is developed and introduced. Compared with original STAF, the new version code STAF-CT has two main functional improvements including "Transient" and "Fully Three Dimensional Coupling" features. In STAF-CT, a three dimensional energy transferring module is established which can achieve energy exchange computing function at the corresponding position between two sides of SG. The STAF-CT is validated against the international benchmark experiment data and the results show great agreement. Then the U-shaped SG in AP1000 nuclear power plant is modeled and simulated using STAF-CT. The results show that three dimensional flow fields in the primary side make significant effect on the energy source distribution between two sides. The development of code STAF-CT in this paper can provide an effective method for further SG high fidelity research in the nuclear reactor system.

  • The initial strain, the applied stress exponent, the activation energy, and rupture time in AZ31 magnesium alloy have been measured in order to predict the deformation mechanism and rupture life of creep over the temperature range of 423-443K. Creep tests were carried out under constant applied stress and temperature, and the lever type tester and automatic temperature controller was used for it, respectively. The experimental results showed that the applied stress exponent was about 9.74, and the activation energy for creep, 113.6KJ/mol was less than that of the self diffusion of Mg alloy including aluminum. From the results, the mechanism for creep deformation seems to be controlled by cross slip at the temperature range of 423-443K. Also the higher the applied stress and temperature, the higher the initial strain. And the rupture time for creep decreased as quadratic function with increasing the initial strain in double logarithmic axis.

다공성 방풍벽의 3차원 유동특성 (A Study of Three Dimensional Flow Characteristics near the Porous Wall)

  • 수직으로 위치한 다공성의 방풍벽을 통과해 흐르는 공기의 난류 유동특성을 해석하였다. 방풍벽은 다수의 원형 단면으로 구성된 공극으로 구성하고, 다공도는 공극의 직경으로 조절하였다. 대부분의 결과는 FLUENT를 이용한 해석결과로 3차원 다공벽 주위의 유동특성을 제시하였으며, 방풍벽에 형성되는 압력분포를 통해 방풍벽의 항력계수를 제시하였다. 항력계수는 레이놀즈 수 및 다공도에 의해 정의되나 레이놀즈 수의 영향은 크지 않은 반면에 다공도에 대한 영향은 매우 크다. 3차원 공극을 갖는 방풍벽의 항력계수를 다공도의 함수로 제시하여 2차원 결과와 비교하였다.

  • The battery industries have been developed to the implementation of lithium ion secondary cell from the cell of Ni/Cd and Ni/MH in the past to be asked of an age of high technology from low technology. Also in resent the polymeric cell to get a good high function with an age of new advanced information system is changed from the 21 century to the secondary batteries society. The properties of lithium secondary batteries have the high energy density, the long cycle time, the low self discharge area and the high active voltage. The wanted properties of secondary batteries for the motion of an apparatuses of industries of an high skill age have a small type trend of the energy density and it is become with a strong asking of the industrial society market about the storable medium of the convenience and new power energy. The electrochemical properties is researched for the cell to be synthesised and crystallized the positive active material LiMnO2 of the secondary cell at 9250C to get a new improved data of the electric discharge for that the capacitance of the LiMnO2 thin film that is improving and researching with the properties and a merit and demerit in the this kind of asking.
